- Observer
- Ported from the Pocket and Windows 10 editions.
- May behave have slight behavior differences due to different redstone systems in Java edition compared to Pocket Edition
- Can detect Block Updates and output redstone signal
- Normal BUDS still remain
- Ported from the Pocket and Windows 10 editions.
- Shulker Box
- Crafted using a chest in the middle with 2 Shulker Shells, one above and one on the bottom of it.
- Can be held in your inventory. Will show its contents when hovered over in the inventory.
- Will show up to 5 slots
- Similar to chests in that it stores items, but different in that it will keep its inventory when broken.
- When destroyed, does not drop contents, but stores them in the block.
- Drops itself even when in Creative only if there is an item inside.
- Has the same opening/closing animation as a Shulker.
- They change their hitbox when open; from height 1 to 1.5
- Can be dyed in any of the available colors.
- Dyed Shulker Boxes are slightly different from the undyed one; the dyed ones have a darker bottom part, whereas the regular one keeps the same color.
- Due to a bug, it can't be dyed in survival. Will be fixed in the next snapshot.
- Can be placed on top, side, bottom of blocks, like Shulkers.
- Can be placed down and opened like a chest inventory, and has 27 slots.
- The space needed to open it depends on the orientation.
- Can not be placed inside another box.
- Can be mined by hand.
- Pickaxe is fastest
- Can be used with hoppers, droppers and dispensers, just like any other item.
- A dispenser will place the shulker box on the ground
- Break into item form when pushed with a piston.
Items
- Shulker Shell
- Sometimes dropped by Shulkers when killed.

- Dropped by Evoker upon death.
- Will save your life when you receive a killing blow, while holding it in either hand.
- Gives regeneration and absorption when activated for a couple of seconds, to help survive followup damage.
- Shows a 'particle' just like the curse from an elder guardian.
- Golden ankh like animation whenever the item is consumed.
- Exploration Map
- Can be bought from cartographers.
- Just like a map, except will show terrain outlines and a specific structure with treasure.
- Used to locate Woodland Mansions and Ocean Monuments.
- Slightly tinted to match the type; blue for Ocean Monuments and brown for Woodland Mansions.
- Has the appearance of a typical treasure map.
- When resized they retain the structure marker but lose biome outlining.
- Treasure maps display the biome outline of their respective biome.
- Initially a map with outlines of land, no loaded land shown. Loads land once you find it.
- When exploring, it will fill in the outlines.
- Small player dot to indicate far away destinations
- The locator dot on the map will be smaller the farther away you are
Mobs
- Llama
- Spawn naturally.
- Drops Leather.
- Has multiple colors, similar to Horses.
- When aggravated, they spit to attack.
- Always aggressive toward Wolves.
- If you hit them, they spit at you once, dealing 1(
) damage.
- Can be saddled using a carpet of any color and ridden
- Using a different color of carpet gives a different texture on the saddle
- Like donkeys can be equipped a chest
- Varying amount of slots depending on strength stat of Llama.
- Can be leashed.
- When a lead is put on, surrounding llamas in a small radius will be attracted and try form a caravan behind the leaded llama.
- The "caravan" llamas are passive to all mobs.
- Has own sounds.
- Vex
- Spawned by Evokers.
- Small, flying mobs. Like a small ghost that flies around.
- Hostile towards the player.
- Can phase through blocks, similar to ghosts.
- Texture changes to have red marks when about to attack
- Holds an Iron Sword.
- Has own sounds.
- Spawn in Woodland Mansions.
- Attack villagers
- Illagers
- Has the same model as Villagers, but with a pale grey skin and dark clothes.
- Vindicator
- Outcast villager
- Has an iron axe in one of their hands
- Hostile towards player.
- Has own sounds.
- Spawn in Woodland Mansions.
- Attack villagers
- Drops Emeralds upon death. Rarely drops an Iron Axe.
- Evoker
- Acts like a mini-boss, as when in battle it summons Vexes and Fangs to attack.
- Hostile towards player.
- Has 'fang attack'
- Summons a stream of fangs coming out of the floor, damaging mobs.
- Raises arms to indicate spell casting.
- Spawns "vexes" described above.
- Attack villagers.
- Has own sounds.
- Spawn in the top floor in Woodland Mansions, along with the Vindicator and other summoned mobs
- Drops Emeralds and a Totem of Undying upon death.
Enchantments
- Curses
- Enchantments with negative effects, such as Curse of Vanishing and Curse of Binding.
- Uncommon appearances in dungeon loot
- Naturally appear on tools and armor randomly (mainly end cities)
- Best use in map making
- Curse of Vanishing
- Item that has this curse will not drop upon death and will instead vanish.
- All slots in inventory are affected.
- The gamerule KeepInventory true will prevent this.
- Curse of Binding
- Binds the armor to the player if it has got this enchantment, effectively disallowing the player to manually take off this armor piece.
- Creative players are unaffected.
- Does drop when gamerule keepInventory is false, when dying.
Commands
/locate- syntax:
/locate <StructureType>- Admits: EndCity, Fortress, Mansion, Mineshaft, Monument, Stronghold, Temple and Village.
- Locates the nearest structure, like EndCity or NetherFortress.
- Can locate dungeons, mineshafts, strongholds, temples, fortresses etc.
- When finding structures similar to "temple" structures, it cannot differentiate between types, this means any "Temple" structure found can be igloos, witch huts, jungle temples or desert temples.
- Returns message: "Located [Structure] at [x] [y] [z]"
- Pushes coordinates in chat for the executor of the command.
- Will display the Y coordinates as "(y?)" for some structures

- "Will spawn a boss-like mob called the Evoker in one of the top floors.

- Has many different rooms, and can contain grown trees, saplings, water, ores, flowerpots, all types of 1 block tall flowers, anvils, bookshelves, wool, different types of stone, pumpkins, farmed plants(including mushrooms), chests with good loot (diamond armour, golden apples), ladders, iron doors, iron bars, rails...
