秘密更新（Seecret Updates
Notch有时候在Twitter宣布和确认秘密更新。在6月18日，在第一个秘密周五更新发布前，他发Twitter说他将要“制作一个秘密更新”。[1] 在7月2日，他宣布第三个秘密周五更新会在这个晚上发布。[2] 在7月29日，他发Twitter说“有一个真正的机会让我可能忘记制作更新”，[3] 参考自发布在下一天的秘密周五更新7。在9月2日，他拒绝做一个“秘密周一更新”，而是确认道“秘密更新会在周五更新……跟往常一样。”，[4]参考自他后来确认在9月9日和10日之后发布的秘密周五更新更新9。[5][6]
秘密更新在万圣节更新前暂停了；Notch在10月7日发推说更新“被推迟到我们明白怎么处理它们为止”，而且他在“关注万圣节更新和律师”。[7]最后一次在The Word of Notch上提到它们是9月24日的一篇博文，他写到“我很想推出个秘密周五更新，既让你们开心又让我做些编程，但我需要放松一下”。[8]。最后一次他发推提到它们是11月10日，他写到“我喜欢在周五更新，但周六的修复令人头疼。”[9]
