Wool is a placeable block added in Classic 0.0.20a having one texture that is put onto all sides of the block. It is a very weak flammable block and does not offer much resistance against explosions. Wool can be obtained from Sheep and by combining nine strings together. It does not have any special tools that can make it mined any faster but can be easily be mined without using any Tools. Like Slow Sand, wool can be used to absorb some impact made from boats colliding with it at high speeds.

Currently, wool's only crafting use is for making Paintings.

History

The wool spectrum.

Back in Classic mode, wool was a set of 16 identical blocks with different of colours and having three shades of grey. The wool was added for the creation of Pixel art and to make colorful buildings and structures. Another common use is to make rainbows, sometimes in the form of towers or carpeting.

These coloured wool except white were left unobtainable in the game in Survival Test and Indev unless they are pre-placed into the map file. It was removed completely in Infdev where the game client will crash as these blocks do not exist any more.
