A witch hut (also known as the swamp hut), is a randomly-generated stilt house structure found in swamp biomes.

A witch hut is a small hut, styled after real-world stilt houses. In Minecraft, these are the homes of witches, a hostile mob. Witches are commonly found inside the hut, and will spawn naturally in the hut during the Night (providing the hut is not lit). The hut is constructed of oak wood logs, spruce wood planks as the main building parts, and fences as bars on the windows. Witch huts typically contain one pot that holds either a red or brown Mushroom. They also contain a crafting table and a cauldron possibly containing Potions.

  • The witch hut will only spawn in water (unless it spawns outside of the swamp biome).
  • On rare occasions, huts can generate outside of swamp biomes.
  • Due to the height and lack of stairs, if a witch falls out of its hut, it cannot get back in on its own.
  • The witch hut makes an appearance in Minecraft: Story Mode. The witch hut appears when Jesse and his friends are on the run from Ivor and the Wither Storm.
