A weighted pressure plate is a block similar in function to regular pressure plates, except only items can activate them, and the amount of items on the plate determines the strength of the redstone signal outputted. The weighted pressure plate comes in 2 variants, a light version (gold) and a heavy version (iron).
The light version emits a stronger redstone current for every few blocks thrown upon it. It reaches maximum signal when it has 60 entities on it (nearly a full stack).
The heavy version emits a stronger redstone current for every stack of blocks thrown upon it. It reaches maximum signal when it has roughly 10 stacks of entities upon it.
The following table will show how many items should be on pressure plate to output a signal of certain strength:
| Signal strength | Gold plate | Iron plate |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 - 4 | 1 - 42 |
| 2 | 5 - 8 | 43 - 85 |
| 3 | 9 - 12 | 86 - 128 |
