Not to be confused with Crimson Forest.
For the level in Minecraft Dungeons, see MCD:Warped Forest.

The warped forest is a biome found in the Nether. It is a relatively safe biome because no hostile mobs spawn there naturally.

Description[]

The warped forest is dense and has a cyan color scheme. The forest's fog and particles have a dark royal blue tone, and the fog appears lilac with Night Vision.

The floor of the biome is composed mostly of warped nylium, with some netherrack and warped wart blocks generating on the surface. The vegetation of the biome includes fungi, warped roots, huge warped fungi, and twisting vines growing from the ground. Large overhangs extend over the oceans of lava. Blobs of glowstone generate in the ceiling, and shroomlights generate on the huge fungus scattered around the forest.

Warped forest and crimson forest border

In general, the warped forest is much safer than other Nether biomes. Only two types of mob usually spawn here: endermen on solid terrain, and striders on lava. Endermen also spawn at much lower density than in the End. However, hostile mobs may still spawn in fortresses and bastion remnants.

The following mobs are naturally spawned here:

Mob loot
Upon death, cows, mooshrooms, horses, donkeys, mules, llamas and trader llamas drop 0–2 leather, while hoglins drop 0–1 leather. The maximum amount is increased by 1 per level of Looting, for a maximum of 5 leather (4 leather from hoglins) with Looting III.

A fox sometimes spawns holding leather, which always drops upon death. Alternatively, a player can drop a food item, causing the fox to drop the leather.

Fishing
Leather can be obtained as a "junk" item from fishing.

minecraft:dupe_hack is a joke item from Java Edition 23w13a_or_b.

Obtaining
Once the <code>dupe_hack_occurrence_chance</code> vote is approved the dupe hack item has a random chance of dropping whenever an entity with chests is killed by a player, e.g. when destroying a minecart with chest with a sword.

It doesn't appear in the creative menu, not even when the option "Operator Items Tab" is enabled, but can be given to the player with <code>/give</code> and other commands.

Usage
The dupe hack item can be used to create a limited amount of duplicate items by placing it on a crafting table with any other item. It has a random chance of breaking, controlled by the <code>dupe_hack_break_chance</code> vote. This limitation can be mostly bypassed by putting the items in an ender chest first and duplicating the chest.

A pitcher pod is an ancient bulbous seed that has a chance to be dropped by sniffers when they finish digging. It is the seed for Pitcher Plants.

Obtaining
Sniffers occasionally bury their nose in the ground and start digging. Once the sniffer has finished digging, one pitcher pod has a chance to be dropped on the floor as an item.

Sniffers can only dig for pitcher pods in the following blocks:
*Dirt
*Grass Block
*Podzol
*Coarse Dirt
*Rooted Dirt
*Moss Block
*Mud
*Muddy Mangrove Roots
They cannot dig for pitcher pods on mycelium.

Usage
Pitcher Crop
Pitcher pods can be placed on farmland by using, where they grow through three stages as a pitcher crop.

Breaking the crop before it matures drops the pitcher pod, while breaking the final stage produces a pitcher plant and does not yield the pod. Pitcher crops break if pushed by a piston or if their supporting farmland breaks or turns to dirt (i.e. by being trampled), dropping their usual drops.

Farmer villagers can plant pitcher pods, but cannot harvest them once they have fully grown.

Feeding
Pitcher pods can be used to breed chickens and reduce the remaining growth duration of chicks by 10%.

Taming
Pitcher pods can be used to tame parrots.

Issues[]

Issues relating to "Warped Forest" are maintained on the bug tracker. Report issues there.

Trivia[]

 • When Warped forests were announced at MINECON Live 2019, which happened before the first Nether Update snapshot was released, these forests were referred to as "Blue Nether wart forests". In the announcement, however, they were called by the name "Nether wart forest blue".
 • Despite the former name "Blue", the biome's actual color scheme is closer to shades of cyan-green, rather than blue.
 • The ambience sound "Warped Forest Addition 6" is actually the sound of an enderman screaming, slowed down, and in reverse.
 • "Warped Forest Mood 9" is actually a slowed-down and reverberated idle sound of witches.
 • Warped forest biomes never share a border with Soul Sand Valley.
