Strange flash messages

We have a little problem with flash advertisements in the german wiki. Sometimes the page reload automatically and shows websites like "flashhomesurport" or "flashplayerupdating". These are not pages from Adobe, but they looks like this. A trap?-- Oliver Scholz Wiki Admin 16:01, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Dutch page nl:Sjabloon:BlockSprite/doc

We're having some problems on the Dutch wiki, when i try to make changes to the Template talk page nl:Sjabloon:BlockSprite/doc it goes to this screen: [1], just a white screen with in the url bar a url which states that it's submitting but it's done loading, do you know how to fix this? I've tried deleting and remaking the article, didn't work. I also have this problem with the english version of this page and sometimes with other large articles. -- TheWombatGuru t | c NL Admin 01:18, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

It's not only TheWombatGuru. I have it too :(. - CrazyBliep NL Admin 08:25, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

This is happening because that page uses the a template too many times. {{BlockSprite/entry}} I would suggest splitting those tables onto separate subpages. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 15:42, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Only on the Dutch wiki or also on the English one? -- TheWombatGuru t | c NL Admin 15:43, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
I split it up into 2 templates, it works on the English wiki, but not on the Dutch. -- TheWombatGuru t | c NL Admin 15:53, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Hmm, you've forgotten YSelf. :( And please remove XiLeons, his name is now ILeonx. Thanks so much! -- Oliver Scholz - Wiki Admin 14:36, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
3 admins are inactive at the French wiki : Scaler4 (bureaucrat), Zemeckis (admin) and Jimeowan (admin). Can you check these users and demote them if necessary? — Itouchmasterpro d c 15:47, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
We generally don't demote for inactivity. This trend needs to stop. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 20:04, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

Problem with CAPTCHA.

Hello, Wynthyst! I'm user on Russian Minecraft Wiki. I don't speak English, so there may be errors. We had a problem. When I edit a page and add links to external sites, I was asked to choose photos of cats. But when I select them and press the button "Save page", I was asked to choose again. Five times I tried to edit a page and still does not work. This is a problem I encounter the first time. I hope you will help to deal with it. Thanks in advance :). Asassin 1 (talk) 15:19, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

This is a know issue, and is being looked into. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 17:41, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
The CAPTCHA seems to be working now. Is it possible to configure the extension to disable the CAPTCHA for registered users with at least N edits? --GreenStone (talk) 14:28, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
It should not be triggering for registered users unless they have not confirmed their email address. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 17:28, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
Still getting it. My groups are "Autoconfirmed users" and "Users". (not the error, but the captcha in general) --eagle3000 (D ~ B) 17:53, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
Looks like the CAPTCHA is configured to trigger for everyone but administrators. --GreenStone (talk) 18:30, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
I'm running into this on the non-English wikis as well (i.e., ones where I'm not an admin), even with a confirmed email account; the ConfirmEdit configuration may need to be fixed. Also, according to mediawiki, the infinite-cats problem may be solveable by installing Extension:Asirra, rather than using the ConfirmEdit module. -- Orthotopetalk 19:46, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

I have this check stopped working a few days ago. And I have not manifested itself both in the native me section, and in this, and even in Polish. By the way, I don't know English. Grid Diamond Sword.png Ivan-r is admin in ru-MWiki 18:45, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

We have figured out the issue, it should be fixed soon if not already. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 22:21, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
Take my words back. Grid Diamond Sword.png Ivan-r is admin in ru-MWiki 11:57, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
Now everything is fine. Select al the pictures of the cats and page enrolled. And you can make this test were only unregistered or low-active users. Thanks for the help! Friendship is magic :3 Asassin 1 (talk | 123) 14:30, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Could you give me another update on Lua/Scribunto? As far as i can tell Scribunto has not been added, althought it was planned for 9th January. What happened? --eagle3000 (D ~ B) 23:18, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

The delay is totally my fault! Sorry guys, the dev team told me it would be available on the 9th, I failed to apply it to MCW. As soon as I can get a recache, it will be there! -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 09:33, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

You can help me?

I was seeing the Minecrafting Wiki and the crafting menu is deleted. I can help with the crafting, but is necessary recreate the page. You can do this for me? (Sorry, I'm brazilian and not good in English)

This page was corrupted, so it was replaced with an earlier version that may need to be updated. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 20:32, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Decimal to hexadecimal converter

The situation is this: For this template was formerly a subpage. But after processing the template it has become useless and has been removed. But, on the service page, under "Required templates this page for some reason there is, and there's a link. But when you view "Link on the template, the page no links! I hope you understand me. Here are links to three pages, which may explain this situation (including remote sub-page): ru:Служебная:Требуемые_шаблоны; ru:Служебная:Ссылки_сюда/Шаблон:Decimal_to_hexadecimal_converter/Switch; ru:Шаблон:Decimal to hexadecimal converter/Switch. P.S. It's all in Russian wiki. Grid Diamond Sword.png Ivan-r is admin in ru-MWiki 15:14, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

I have no clue why that is showing up as a wanted template.-- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 15:35, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
Clear. Probably a bug. By the way, we had a small argument: bureaucrats can create new groups of rights for the users? Grid Diamond Sword.png Ivan-r is admin in ru-MWiki 16:59, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
No, Bureaucrats can not create new user groups. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 20:31, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Copycat sites

Hi Wynthyst, I'm the Chinese Wiki Bureaucrat Craft_Lawrence.
so it seems the unauthorized copying problem is coming back.
Absolutely everything is copied from the Chinese wiki with no source attribution no nothing.
What can we do about this situation? Since it's a commercial site, it's obviously a violation and it's really getting me frustrated.
Thanks for the attention.
—— Craft Lawrence (talk) 05:57, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Craft Lawrence, I understand your frustration, unfortunately, there's really little we can do, especially with these Chinese domains. I don't want to offend anyone, but I'm sad to say that the Chinese government, the regulating body for all things in China including the internet, has little respect for copyright rules that the rest of the world use, so there's really no one we can "report" the violation to who would actually do anything about it. About the only thing I can say is imitation is the highest form of flattery.... I know... it doesn't help much. We do all the work and don't get any credit. Just know that we are by far the best there is when it comes to Minecraft information. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 06:42, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Would things be different if this happened to other language Wikis other than Chinese sites? --Craft Lawrence (talk) 10:02, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Not really, though we do report gross violations on our English sites, it's simply not worth the cost of actually following through with legal action if they choose to ignore the report. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 17:30, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
I would assume so. Anyways there may not be a legal way to stop them from copying, but I have taken advantage of my influences in the Chinese communities to issue notifications among all of the main forums about this vile incident. We're gonna make sure they get what they deserve. And again, thank you for your attention. -- Craft Lawrence (talk) 21:28, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

New Wiki project

You know curse? As you can move on to the platform Gamepedia almost lost a wiki project? Good game, but it and the players are not, not that clever participants. I much as I can I will write there. I admit, perhaps a wiki would be almost dead. I don't know yet what about my venture will say administrators wiki: them in a network does not catch. But it is a pity that disappear knowledge about the game in the middle of nowhere. Wiki Russian. Here are the links to the wiki and forum: [2] ; [3]. - Yandex translate. Grid Diamond Sword.png Ivan-r is admin in ru-MWiki 18:53, 30 January 2014 (UTC) P.S. There is very spammers. That fortunately in addition to the personal pages of nothing more edit.

Ivan, we are doing the best we can. We have no one on staff that is fluent in Russian, and therefore have a hard time developing abuse filters that actually work with the Russian alphabet. You and your community could be of assistance, by translating our existing filters. Anyone with Admin access can see them http://minecraft-ru.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=%D0%A1%D0%BB%D1%83%D0%B6%D0%B5%D0%B1%D0%BD%D0%B0%D1%8F:%D0%A4%D0%B8%D0%BB%D1%8C%D1%82%D1%80_%D0%B7%D0%BB%D0%BE%D1%83%D0%BF%D0%BE%D1%82%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%B1%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B9/&result=success&changedfilter=21 It's also hard for us to develop new filters for you, because we can't read the spam, to see the spammer's patterns, etc. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 23:11, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
We do not have many spammers who try to write in Russian. Most of the spam edits are in English and are caught by abuse filters. --GreenStone (talk) 04:11, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
Sorry, I didn't properly explained. I'm not talking about this wiki, and the creation of a new project about another game that doesn't apply to Minecraft Wiki. I guess I should change the translation service. Grid Diamond Sword.png Ivan-r is admin in ru-MWiki 12:28, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
Correct me if I'm wrong, since my Russian isn't very good, but I think Ivan is suggesting that Curse create a wiki for Transport Tycoon and similar games. -- Orthotopetalk 19:27, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
This I wanted to say. Thank you. - Yandex Translate. Grid Diamond Sword.png Ivan-r is admin in ru-MWiki 20:05, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Search bar not functioning properly

It seems a bit late, but after the migration, the search bar on the Chinese Wiki seems to be bugged, it does not give the list of all the auto-complete pages when typing. —Powup333 ZH Admin 15:04, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

Russian wiki files

Hello, Wynthyst.

There is an issue with files in Russian wiki. Some images' current versions are displayed as their first versions (example here). Deleting/undeleting does not resolve the problem. --GreenStone (talk) 11:20, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Checked. It seems a problem in all language sections. Here is a link to my test: File:test_file_work.png. Grid Diamond Sword.png Ivan-r is admin in ru-MWiki 12:16, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Seems fine to me. Remember to clear your browser's cache after uploading new versions of files. -- Orthotopetalk 20:08, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
