Being a Wiki Admin.
Wynthsyt, After reading a topic on the minecraftforum.net forums about the wiki needing more admins, i thought i might apply. I have had prior experiances with uses wikis for other games, like dead frontier, pokemon, and Call of duty. And have helped sort and type information for them. Altough only being able to speak english, I think my help could help perhaps just a little bit, or make a big impact. Not sure if I need to post contact information, but anyway I'll post it regardless; E-mail; Email removed MC Forum Name; xNightmare --XNightmare 08:34, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Interested in being a Wiki Admin
Hey Wynthst, I saw your post on the minecraft forum, and it immediately grabbed my attention. I fluently speak Dutch, along with English and a couple other languages, and I'd love to help. I 'm a frequent contributor to the actual wikipedia, along with being a site owner. Not sure if previous experience really matters here, but I thought it may! :)
I see Nightmare posted his contact info, so I shall do the same:

Image resizing?
Methinks you grok the .png habit better than I, so might you take a look at:
The new pic is rather nice, and has a good relative field of view, but I think its size is a little screen-busting. Is it worth asking the OP to resize it, or is this something you would normally just do yourself and repost the pic? -Wulfenbach (not on fire for once) 03:57, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

- Alright. I'll have to see if he plays minecraft else I doubt he'll be able to do much around the place. As for rocky starts, I'm quickly finding reasons not to worry so much about the issues at hand. Not forced preview (whilst it would be nice for everyone to not have to deal with it) is a dream, and I recently found out Kizzi's ark of Herobrine is the top rated search for the respective term on Google, which is about as useful as it could ever get, so forcing it into the mainspace is no longer so important to anyone I imagine, lest me. Dutch Minecraft wiki application
Hello, I would like to be an Admin of the Dutch Minecraft wiki.
Username: Stevinator
The Languages I speak: Dutch, English (both good), a little French and German (not very good), Latin and ancient-Greek (True!).
My experience with wiki's: I've been Admin on some Wiki's, I have also been a Bureacrat on some, and a normal user on others.
Relation with Minecraft: OMGWTFAWESOME24/7UBERADDICTION nothing much else to say about that...
What am I able to help out with: deleting spam, correcting grammar (You would be surprised to know how little Dutch people can actually speak Dutch without much gramatical errors.), adding pictures (Not scared of a creeper or lava) , helping the community, adding information, and that sort of stuff.
How long have I played Minecraft: I play Minecraft since the Alpha.
Why this application is so long: [quote] If it's worth doing, it's worth OVERdoing

Up for admin
Hi,
I read that the Dutch section needed some help, and after checking it out I couldn't agree more. Some important pages are full of mistakes. If you don't find enough capable people, I can give it a try. Dutch is my native language so that shouldn't be a problem. The downside is: I have zero experience in wiki editing, that is why I rather edit some stuff first. To contact me, pm in minecraftforums at equz.
Have a great day. Noah
PS: in the meantime, i recommend some changes, cause the dutch section seems to be written by a (no offence intended) 12-year old. As i said, i don't really have any experience so I'm not sure how it works but the block translations, who I think a non-admin can't change (because they are linked, or used within codes), are a bit off. For exemple: suiker rieten should be suikerriet, dinamiet -> dynamiet, champions -> champignons, toon blok -> nootblok, ... I'll try to edit it, but I'm not sure I can.

Dutch translator with experience.
Hello Wynthyst,
I saw your topic on the mc forums. I'm not really sure if you can use me. But I've been translating a lot of English to Dutch. I've been a subber for a fan sub-group for anime's for more than a year now. So if you would choose me, you would get speedy translations.
I've always been working with a someone that checks my translations. That went pretty well.
Like I said, I work with time frames. We agree that the article is translated at 12 pm, then it will be translated at 12 pm. You will always be sure that I've done my work.
I'm very excited about this. I hope you'll see something in me :)

- Hi Hero :D You know, anyone can work on the translation. And your help would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for administrators who will be active contributors as well. Please register your account on the Dutch wiki and have at it. The mainpage in particular still needs major translation, as well as dealing with all the red links. There are a few other active contributors there... work with them and let's see if we can't make it a better wiki for the Dutch community. Why hello there, let me introduce myself. My name is Thescorpi0n (Real name is Tim), and my first language is dutch. I'm 16 years old, and I think I can translate English texts pretty well, and therefor I'm applying for the admin possition. Well, I guess I'll hear from you then.

- Here is a page on another wiki that uses it. http://www.faxionwiki.com/Vainglory it allows me to "stack" the tables, however, it can be used to do the same to text or any other data. Also, the tabs can be configured to look more like tabs with outlines etc. It simply worked better on that wiki to not do it that way. -- Wynthyst

Minecraft Sports
Hi Wynthyst,
you just deleted my entry as Minecraft Sports Discussion. I'm sorry if that was not the apropriate place to make a suggestion. But I really like to learn more about Minecraft Sports and think that would be an enrichment to this wiki and not very simple stuff everyone already knows.
So were is the right place to do such a suggestion?
And I'm also wondering why things get deleted here so quickly and unrecoverably. I was hoping to still find a history with older versions of that stuff, so that things aren't completely lost.
Cheers Zodac
- The forum is the proper place for that kind of stuff. I believe there was some discussion about "sports" on the Community Portal talk page (Minecraft_Wiki_talk:Community_portal/Archive_3#Sports_subpages), you might want to check the archives. Things that are inappropriate are deleted when they are found. Since category pages can't be moved, there really is no option other than to delete them. Everything that gets deleted can be restored, but a random category talk page is unlikely to be. -- Wynthyst

Dutch administrator
I'd like to become an administrator of the Dutch wiki. I already tried to update the main page and templates that require some css, but that doesn't really work if you constantly have to ask an admin to implement your changes.--STS 14:39, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
New template
First:
Thank you for promotion to the new Dutch admin.
Second:
On the Dutch wiki I made a template (link) that might be useful here too. It produces a slide-show of crafting grids (or other grids). For now this is done with animated gifs, but it would be far more easy to make and to edit them if you are able to use the Template:Grid/Crafting Table.
Documentation for the template is in Dutch, but it says almost the same I did. You can take a look at the sample code and decide if you like it or not. If is, this is the JavaScript you need to get it working:
jQuery(function(){jQuery(".GridSlide").each(function(){jQuery("div.GridSlideChild:first",this).addClass("active").show()});setInterval(function(){jQuery(".GridSlide").each(function(){var b=jQuery("div.active",this),a=b.next();a.length<1&&(a=jQuery("div.GridSlideChild:first",this));b.removeClass("active").hide();a.addClass("active").show()})},2E3)});
And the CSS:
.GridSlideChild{display: none;}
--STS(t|c) 09:28, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
- I 100% agree with this. The original purpose of the grid is to be completely modular (One image can be used for any input/output/etc. on any grid template, with any number next to it), and being able to animate the images without having to make special ones would complete it.
- However, I would much prefer it to be a function actually in the template. (animate=1?) –ultradude25 (T|C) at 09:55, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
- I've been thinking about how to do this, but for now on the answer is: imposible. I got no acces to any loop function. I found some here and here that should work, but don't. So I think they aren't installed. Is it posible to see if they are installed and if they aren't may install them?--STS(t|c) 17:48, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
