MOJANG Technical Support

HELLO! Sorry to bother you, but I have a question. I would like to contact Mojang by E-Mail but I can't find the "Submit Ticket" button. Most Support sites have those. Do you as a Staff member know where I could E-mail them? Any help would be appreciated. 19:42, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Even though we are recognized as Minecraft's official wiki by Mojang, we are not associated with Mojang. In the yellow box on top of the edit page, there are several links that can assist you. You can go to the IRC help channel #Minecrafthelp (click Chat), post on the forums (click Support), or go to the Mojang Support Center. There is an email submit form in the Mojang Support Center, but the link to it is in certain support articles. Try to find your issue first. It may be answered already. Thanks, I will give it a try. 21:13, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Problem on the French minecraftwiki

Hi, there is a problem on the French minecraftwiki. The elements of the bottom of the page overlap (the blue background "doesn't extend down"). The problem probably come from Common.css and Vector.css. (However, the files are kept up to date.) Thanks. Itouchmasterpro 12:56, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

I guess I'm either not understanding what the problem is, or I'm not seeing it (meaning it's already been corrected by someone). -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 06:48, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
When pages are short, the elements of the bottom "overlap" the sidebar Itouchmasterpro 07:18, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
Oh, that.. yeah, we know, and are working on it. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 07:55, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
That's only a problem if you remove the Curse sidebar, and its related styling. By default the wiki has a min-height of 1295px on #bodyContent2, which is more than enough to fit the left sidebar in. ultradude25Talk
– 14:30, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
I've tried everything but nothing to do. that doesn't change with 1295 :( Itouchmasterpro 20:32, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
Um, the French wiki doesn't seem to have the Curse sidebar at all, and all the pages are bodyContent instead of bodyContent2... ultradude25Talk

No, I noticed this on this wiki as well. t numbermaniac c 01:03, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
Because you have the sidebar hidden. The French wiki doesn't have the sidebar at all. ultradude25Talk

Oh yeah. How come the french wiki doesnt have the sidebqr? t numbermaniac c 02:13, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Now fixed. Thanks. +Good question Numbermaniac Itouchmasterpro 03:37, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Bureaucrat-level request

Here. --GreenStone (0x54; 0x43) 23:26, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

While you're working on user group rights, could you give all admins the checkuser right? It's not needed very often, but we do get occasional cases of sockpuppetry. -- Orthotope talk 01:12, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
Please comment on the other two requests. --GreenStone (0x54; 0x43) 17:51, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
Don't pressure her... t numbermaniac c 21:41, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
Requests repeated. If this cannot be done, please explain why. Not responding to messages does not help anyone. --GreenStone (0x54; 0x43) 11:53, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
Both .zip and Itouchmasterpro have been made Director's as requested. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 12:12, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
1. I also requested to give me Director rights. 2. Orthotope asked you to "give all admins the checkuser right". What's the problem with these requests? --GreenStone (0x54; 0x43) 12:16, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
You're wearing me out. Sorry, I missed your request (you are now a Director). Check user is not something we widely provide the rights to. Sock puppet accounts have never been a serious problem here, and with the move to Gamepedia, and the consolidation of the user databases, it's going to be even less of one since all wiki accounts will have to be authenticated through Curse.com. Other than fighting sock puppetry, there is very little valid use for the Check user function. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 12:20, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

Chinese wiki .svg thumbnail issues

Hi Wynthyst, it's been quite some time since I was busy with my University application and stuff, but I'm all settled now.
The thing I noticed when I got back to the Wiki is that .svg thumbnail bug is still annoying Users and Contributors of Chinese wiki.
It's been a while since it showed up and it's getting ridiculous...
This is really getting out of hand after the main page uses a .svg version of Minecraft Wiki logo.
Please please check how this can be resolved, if not can't be fixed at all. Thanks a lot.
Craft_Lawrence talk ZH Wiki Bureaucrat 15:20, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi! welcome back btw. Sorry for my late response to this, but we've been really busy. These issues will all be resolved when MCW gets migrated to our Gampedia platform in a few weeks. Just bear with us a little longer! -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 21:57, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
Any chance you would have a timeline as to when it would be done? Also, would it be MW 1.21 we would be updated to? Or a different version? t numbermaniac c 02:47, 2 August 2013 (UTC)

Complaint on the switch

Your employer would probably prefer that you actually do work while on the job, rather than browse game-related websites. Just something to consider. -- Orthotope talk 06:29, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

Minecraft Wiki Migration to Gamepedia

Hi Wynthyst! I'm an author in German Minecraft Wiki. Unfortunately the confirmation of the email address in the OLD German Wiki does not work with some email providers. This is a common problem in the German Minecraft Wiki. So I have an email address in my OLD Wiki configuration but it is not confirmed. (With the new Curse account there is no such problem, I registered recently, got an automatic email and confirmed my registration). Now my question: you said "The entire merge process is based on the email addresses. If they match, the merge will be seamless." Is this true if the OLD Wiki email-address is identical but not confirmed? Thanks for an answer, I will post it in the German Wiki. Sumpfhütte (now: Sumpfhuette) 11:35, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

There should be no problem. Confirmed or not, that is the email address associated with your account. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 14:41, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

sounds like a great idea, most of these wiki sites are just too complicated and jumbled good luck with Gamepedia hope it kicks ass :)

The dutch minecraft wiki has only had 22 active users in the past 30 days, and only 3 of them have made more than 20 edits (Me with 987 edits, CrazyBliep with 208 edits and Thomasssxd with 149 edits. Do you know a way to make the wiki more active, with 3 users it's kinda impossible to keep it up-to-date.

Greetings TheWombatGuru 17:33, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

The only thing I can suggest it to go to any Dutch forums, and promote the wiki, let the Dutch community know you need help. Talk to other Dutch players in game (maybe on Dutch servers...). If you are active on any Dutch forum sites, make sure you have a link to the Dutch wiki as part of your signature (whenever links are allowed). This is a battle we (Curse) fights every day. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 18:08, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, the english wiki also gets a lot of his editors via youtube I think, because of mcspotlights, are there plans to make these into other languages too? Or maybe use the same video and replacing the audio? TheWombatGuru 18:55, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
Unfortunately, we do not have multi-lingual staff available to "translate" the videos into all the languages people wish for. I also am not sure just what the ratio of users actually come from YouTube is (We were here long before MCSpotlights was created). If you know of a Dutch video maker who might be interested in created Dutch versions of the videos, or, who has the skills to replace the audio tracks with a translated track, you might want to suggest they contact the guys at mcspotlights and see if they'd be interested in working with them. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 11:05, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I'm a dutch YouTuber who makes videos, and I tried to contact MCSpotlights a few months ago but no response, maybe you could try to contact them, because you're from curse? -- TheWombatGuru t | c NL Admin 21:16, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

Adding admin to Dutch Wiki

I want to appoint someone to be an admin on the Dutch (NL) wiki. He is helping a lot and a lot on the Dutch wiki. It would be outdated by years without him and it would be easier if he got some rights to delete some pages. Now he is still dependent on me to do that. The other 3 admins aren't much online. 1 for a year, 1 for 2 years now and 1 who is sometimes randomly there. The name of the person is: "TheWombatGuru". Could you do this, or let someone do this for me? - CrazyBliep NL Admin 22:59, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

Done. (Also made him a Director here) -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 11:05, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

Migration for latecomers

Hi Wynthyst! For the migration of the more than 76000 Users of the German Wiki I have the following questions: will it be possible in any way to migrate an old user account to a new one after the migration of the whole wiki? If yes: will it be possible as part of a latecomers user migration to add or change at first the old email-address? Thanks, Sumpfhuette. -- 07:45, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

Every currently registered user on each of the wikis will have the opportunity to merge the first time they log in after the migration is complete, whether that is the day after or a year after. Unfortunately, the merge will be contingent on the email address that is in the database when the wikis are migrated, so, if they need to change an email address for their wiki account, they really need to do it before the migration. That being said... we do have some safe guards in place where we can make adjustments after the fact, they will just need to be handled on a one by one basis. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 16:05, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

Migration to Gamepedia!!! how about redirect?

Hey Wynthyst, is the old website (minecraftwiki.net), going to redirect to the new link (minecraft.gamepedia.net) if we go to it? When you're finished updating of course. ^^ -- 19:30, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

If you read Minecraft Wiki:Community portal/Migration to Gamepedia, you would know the answer is yes. The old one will be made a redirect. -- t numbermaniac c 21:35, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Autoconfirmed status requirements on the Russian wiki

If I am right, users are being granted Autoconfirmed as soon as they register an account. Will edit and/or time requirements be added after the migration? If not, could you have this done (after the migration is finished)? We have issues with vandalism in Pocket Edition articles and templates (10 registered and 7 unregistered vandals in August, if I did not miscount). It is not possible to use IP range blocks or the abuse filter, and semiprotection is ineffective (yes, one article is currently fully protected from editing). --GreenStone (0x54; 0x43) 20:41, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

No, this is not possible. Full protection will be required, in conjuction with blocking vandals. There will be no more auto-confirmed users after the migration. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 21:06, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for letting us know. --GreenStone (0x54; 0x43) 21:33, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but what is the reason for this? Removing semi-protection effectively makes it impossible for regular users to edit page that is experiencing massive attack. Norrius 18:45, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Because all user authentication is handled through the central Curse database, it's not possible to set auto-confirmation restrictions on the wiki any longer. The flip side of this is that there shouldn't be as many "massive attacks" by registered users, which makes using abuse filters a more viable option since it's easy to set abuse filters to regulate unregistered user activity. If this turns out to still not be enough, then full protection for limited amounts of time is really the most appropriate action anyway. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 17:22, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
