Hello everyone. This is my talk page. Say hello or give a thumbs up or poke me if you want. Have a good day -Asterick6 04:52, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Thanks[]

Thanks for rewording my bug post-couldn't get the link thingy to work right! Makes much more sense now! -Anew742 –The preceding undated comment was added on 21:09, 3 May 2012‎ (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

You're welcome :) - Asterick6 19:20, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

You are back![]

Asterick you're back! We all thought you retired because of that Trenix person. Why did you come back?--Pigisdeado - talk + contribs 08:36, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Well.. I never quite actually left for a long time, just a few week-long breaks. I guess Minecraft Wiki is just too addicting :P - Asterick6 02:23, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

comments in Template:Unsigned[]

What exactly is the point of these? To me, it seems to add to the page size unnecessarily, without providing any real benefit. -- Orthotope 22:31, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Replied on your talk page. Please keep it on the same page. - Asterick6 (talk) 22:34, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

More templates[]

Since you're adding a lot of missing signatures, you might appreciate having {{unsigned2}} and Template:UnsignedIP2, so you don't have to swap the username/IP and timestamp. -- Orthotope 09:52, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for importing those. I was thinking of creating them here since it saves some time. - Asterick6 (talk) 23:31, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Using a bot to enforce proper text style[]

Should/could we ask someone (like ultradude) to make their bot automatically do things like uncapitalize item names and section headings? If it's possible it would save a lot of time. Hower64 05:49, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

Yea, that would greatly speed things up, but we need general consensus first (and his approval), and a set/sure list of what types are and aren't to be capitalized. The capitalization guide for mobs is still quite vague. - Asterick6 (talk) 05:55, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
The problem is not many people (especially admins) have actually added their thoughts onto the style guide talk page so it's hard to keep track of everything or to reach any sort of consensus :/ I've added a request for comment on the community portal but I doubt we'll see any sort of consistency for a while. Hower64 06:15, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
Yea.. exactly what I thought. I've already added a link on the community portal under style guides, but a more specific notice helps. - Asterick6 (talk) 06:32, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

Re: Article style[]

I had thought capitalizing "Snapshot" was proper, considering it is included in game version titles. Seems improper not to capitalize it when used adjoining the rest of the version title. On the subject of empty lines after headers and multiple ones before templates, I never thought more than a single empty line between content was proper, and thought headers should adjust the first content under it. But okay, I've read the page you sent me to. If I forget, I suppose remind me.

Although one other thing: Should galleries be above Bugs/Glitches/Trivia sections, or below Trivia section? I know the wiki has placed them below Trivia for a while, but standard wiki format has galleries set up to the former. --MegaScience 12:56, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

If Gallery sections are distracting, do you suppose Video sections should also be moved below Trivia? For me, snapshot seems comparative to "doctor." When adjoining a specific name, it must be capitalized. For example, Snapshot 12w25a compared to Doctor Stephenson. The doctor would only be lowercase alone, but adjoining the name/title should be capitalized. On the subject of using the History Template for History Sections, I have tried my best to retain "story" elements while keeping it inline. It isn't easy to organize information by milestones without losing some information, but I'm sure you could find a way to incorporate it again while keeping the clean format provided by the template. Perhaps the template could be adjusted? Capitalization I can keep under control. --MegaScience 11:03, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
Well...the videos were originally never available for articles until a few months ago, and I tend to see them as supplementary sections to the articles. I think they could be moved below the gallery. For the snapshot title, I still don't see the necessity of capitalizing "snapshot". It's not the same as an official title like "Dr." Yes it is capitalized in the menus, etc. but I think the capitalization style for items/blocks still applies here. It may be capitalized when used separately, but isn't capitalized when used in a sentence. - Asterick6 (talk) 18:44, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

Farewell[]

You've done a lot in helping to keep this place even remotely organised and for that I thank you for all your contributions on this wiki. Sad to hear you go but on behalf of everyone that has ever read an article cleaned up by you: so long and good luck! Hower64 03:37, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
