Function page

Do you want to take a stab at creating a Function page? – Sealbudsman talk/contr 02:22, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

I'm not very experienced with formatting and the style guidelines yet (I only started actively editing recently). So I don't think I'm the right person to make the initial page. I won't mind contributing though, functions are pretty simple since they're just plain text files so it won't take long.--Pepijn (talk) 03:13, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Structure Block

why?,check the files please.Storymodefan0315 (talk) 06:37, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

This was your change: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Structure_Block&type=revision&diff=1105931&oldid=1105877
I'm unsure what you meant with an export mode for structure blocks and you messed up the History table. --Pepijn (talk) 06:42, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
in PE,there is a part of the textures folder that contains structure blocks and one of them is the export mode.Storymodefan0315 (talk) 06:49, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
I would personally mention that on the page itself once the structure block is actually obtainable without mods and leave it out of the history table since it already has "Added structure blocks" making your addition kind of redundant (they were implemented with this "export" mode, it wasn't added later). --Pepijn (talk) 06:57, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

Inconsistent order of Grant / revoke

Have you filed a bug report for that? – Sealbudsman talk/contr 22:52, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

I only have theoretical "proof" ("advancement tree is data-driven" + "grant/revoke order using from/through depends on advancement tree" = "grant/revoke order using from/through is data-driven and thus depends on the operating system") and no practical "proof" (since I can only test this on one OS). So I don't know if a different OS will actually result in a different order, maybe they all read the file similarly enough for it not to matter or maybe they read it differently but it doesn't matter in the end. I should probably change the wording to say that it theoretically might make a difference (with current operating systems or future ones), but this sounds like speculation so maybe I should just remove it until I get some more confirmation. Your thoughts on this? --Pepijn (talk) 23:09, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
MCP 9.40 prerelease 1 is out, which covers 1.12 ... Are you good with Java? You could check whether it enforces the advancement tree to have any sorted order, after reading from the filesystem. Or check whether the thing reading the directory is guaranteed by Java to be read in a particular order. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 23:19, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
I will have a look after I updated to that version. --Pepijn (talk) 23:41, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
It's really complicated and full of unnamed fields, I'm just going to ask Dinnerbone about it. --Pepijn (talk) 00:20, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
Got some confirmation that it's possible for one OS to have a different loading order than an other OS, thus making a different advancement tree and changing the order of granting/revoking. --Pepijn (talk) 16:52, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
Aha. The advancement trees on the Advancements page were screen-shot on a Windows 10, and you might be able to compare against those if you are running something different. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 18:49, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
I got some people to help out with different operating systems (just missing some from Mac OS atm, but someone with Mac OS Sierra will do it tomorrow hopefully). So far everything has the same exact order, if Mac confirms this I'm going to remove the inconsistency mention from the commands page since it's not really relevant (although still technically true). --Pepijn (talk) 19:42, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

Can I help?

I think I can improve your sandbox at User:PepijnMC/sandbox/Tutorials/Creating an advancement. – Dentedharp90041tce 13:33, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

I haven't been able to spend any time on that page lately. Feel free to edit it, that way it might actually get completed anytime soon :D. --Pepijn (talk) 17:58, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for allowing me to edit your sandbox. I will make sure that I improve it the best that I can. :D – Dentedharp90041tce 12:09, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
