Block articles and section structure[]

Please note that I have opened a discussion on the talk page of the style guide for features: see here. Since you were involved in the revert war regarding those changes, I ask you to explain your point of view on that page. Thank you! 🐱 --AttemptToCallNil (report bug, view backtrace) 16:23, 21 November 2019 (UTC)

Bedrock Edition 1.15.0[]

I notice you suggested to merge the 1.15 and 1.16 pages because the 1.15 betas are actually for 1.16. You probably assumed this because there is a 1.16 beta. However, many Bedrock Edition versions received betas before their predecessors were released. Let me know if you have other evidence that 1.15 is being skipped. Why you delete the photo in Java Edition 20w15a!!???!!! Darrelmuliaba2009 (talk) 06:43, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

It's not standard to include these photos on version pages, and it hasn't been for a long time. I removed them for consistency. If you want those images on 20w15a, that would require a major discussion and agreement to re-add images on all version pages. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 16:19, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Bastion Barrier[]

I think it is the one with the lava pools, the 4th picture down from the top of the page. There is one in the lava pool, it might be somewhere else I will see. Edit: I loaded a world up and can say a barrier spawns there. Misterredeminator1111111 (talk) 19:42, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

Thank you! I was able to find it as well and can confirm it's there. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 02:17, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

Bastion Chest Loot[]

A little late, but I saw that you included spectral arrows in the Bedrock Edition loot tables for bastion remnants. Could you please explain this, since Bedrock Edition does not have spectral arrows? The BlobsPaper JE2 BE2.png 18:41, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

They're in the Bedrock Edition loot tables. I'm not sure why, but they're there (I can post an example entry when I'm at my PC if you'd like). Reminds me of the heart of the sea stuff back in Update Aquatic. I could probably add a note about them not being in Bedrock. Do you know how the weight functions with this? Does it act as if the spectral arrow entry isn't there, or does it just insert nothing if spectral arrows are rolled? -PancakeIdentity (talk) 18:44, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
I don't know, but I would be interested to see an entry example. It may be that they are planning to add spectra arrows in a later beta, once RenderDragon is finished. The BlobsPaper JE2 BE2.png 19:36, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
That's what I'm guessing the plan is. One of the pools of bastion_bridge.json can be found collapsed below; it contains an entry for spectral arrows. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 19:49, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
Update: As of, spectral arrows are no longer in these tables. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 04:41, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Patroller right[]

I and other admins have been discussing about the need for more patrollers. Our backlog is currently huge, as we don't have many actively patrolling. Since you're obviously a trusted user and based on your contributions I feel like you could use the rights this comes with for the work you do, I think you'd be a good candidate if you're interested. MCW:Patrollers gives more details on what exactly the user right means and how you should use the tools that come with it. Once you have the right there's no obligation to clear out the backlog regularly or anything; you could even just use it occasionally if you happen to come across an edit you know is correct so you patrol it or you happen to come across a vandalism edit and want to quickly rollback it.--Madminecrafter12 (Talk to me | View what I've done) 22:50, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for contacting me! I am interested and would greatly appreciate being given this right. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 23:03, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

im not sure why this isnt supposed to be added, but its a great reason why there are aggressive pandas in minecraft. whats your thoughts? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Jun631 (talkcontribs) at 01:39, April 28, 2020 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

The way it's worded seems to imply that pandas' aggressive behavior isn't true to their real-life counterparts due to them being herbivores. Plenty of real-life herbivores, (including pandas!) will attack out of self-defense. In addition, the "aggressive" panda in Minecraft is actually a bit of a misnomer; normal pandas will only hit you once if you damage them, while aggresive pandas will continually attack you, though they still require provocation. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 01:52, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

Command output[]

I also have plans to add these exact outputs recently, and I have a few things to tell you here:

  • Command outputs are completely different in the JE and BE
  • In Java Edition, there are two types of failures.
    • If the arguments are not specified correctly, the command cannot be parsed. The game does not know what the command is supposed to do.
    • the game attempts to execute, but the success count is 0.
    • for the first type, /execute store ... isn't executed as well.
    • for the second type, /execute store ... stores 0.
  • In Bedrock Edition, there's only one type of failures i think.

If you can distinguish between these two failures in pages, or add more info in BE, it would be best. --Chixvv (talk) 04:48, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

I've been compiling them all on my sandbox User:PancakeIdentity/CommandOutput. I'll keep that in mind, thank you! I'll also go through Bedrock when I'm done with Java. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 20:19, 30 April 2020 (UTC)
I've attempted an example at User:PancakeIdentity/CommandOutput#clear. I've also added the specific commands that result in this. What do you think? When I add Bedrock's, I'll add a column or something separating the two. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 20:30, 30 April 2020 (UTC)
Good! And I added more info about errors of the first type in JE into User:PancakeIdentity/CommandOutput. Now i think errors that arguments are not specified correctly in JE should probably be moved to Argument types instead of each command's own page. Because strictly speaking, they are just argument errors rather than command failures.--Chixvv (talk) 10:16, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
Looks great, thank you so much! And yeah, I was thinking the same thing. We could also add errors for target selector arguments (nbt, type, advancements, etc.) to that section on the commands page (I've not really been documenting them yet). -PancakeIdentity (talk) 20:26, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

How about a "Minecraft misconceptions" page? Meta misconceptions, Minecraft Dungeons, etc.--Delibirda (talk) 09:13, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

Why are you asking me? -PancakeIdentity (talk) 18:36, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
