Vandalism on Spider Jockey

ORTHOTOPE! Can you protect the page "Spider Jockey"? 81.108.184.102 11:50, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Denied. There's no vandalism there since a long ago, so we don't need to protect that page. --Naista2002, now NickTheRed37 (talk) 12:53, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

1.8 Survival Mode Bug: Skeletons Turn Purple When Looking At The Player

Hi, Orthotope. When I played 1.8 Survival Mode, a skeleton looked at me and he was purple. Will it get fixed in 1.8.2?--MinecraftWikiLover (talk) 18:57, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

Report bugs on the issue tracker, not here. -- Orthotopetalk 20:48, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

You deleted my thoughts on the Giant talk page

Why did you do such a thing? I don't understand. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by SuperStarWars237 (talkcontribs) at 23:40, 19 February 2015 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Generally, talk pages are for discussion about the article - page content, formatting, et cetera. Discussion about the subject of the article - in-game Giants themselves - belongs on the forums. -- Orthotopetalk 23:49, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Template:Table

I notice you deleted my page called "Template:Table", which was intended to be information about how to create a table. If there should be a page like this, what type of page should it be?71.35.109.25 00:06, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

A page like that one doesn't belong here. –LauraFi - talk 00:09, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
That wasn't a template so it shouldn't be in the template namespace to begin with, and documentation and help on how to use MediaWiki belongs (and already is) on the MediaWiki wiki. MajrTalk

Music discs

2 questions abou my suggestion for the trivia:

  1. What I did was I figured out that it is 49 by first figuring out that there is a 100% chance you will get a song you don't have on the first attempt. On the second attempt, one is taken, so there is an 11 in 12 chance you will get a new one, so on average, this will take 12 elevenths of an attempt before you succeed. And so on. After 12 successes, you have all the songs. When you add up the average number of attempts for a success for each song, you will get about 49 (check a calculator)
  2. Why is it not a good trivia?71.35.109.25 04:06, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

Want Blocked

Gimme a like, indefinite block. With a random reason. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by MinecraftWikiLover (talkcontribs) at 20:25, 13 March 2015 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Why? -- Orthotopetalk 21:00, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
Why? Well, I just don't want to edit anything anymore. MinecraftWikiLover (talk) 09:43, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
Just stop editing then; no one is forcing you to be here. -- Orthotopetalk 16:29, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

What if you later decide that you do want to edit pages. Also, others aren't likely to edit pages in your account (assuming you are using a good password).71.35.109.25 02:51, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

Recent edit

You recently edited the community portal talk page to explain how I can set up my account so that pages on my watch list will notify me when edited. I could not find the "Email me when a page or file on my watchlist is changed" in the suggested section. I do not understand.

Do I need to confirm my email address? If so please help me. I do not know the verification code.
~From Contrapple Grid Empty Map 00:57, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
As soon as you add the email address, the confirmation link should have been sent to your address, you can follow the steps there. KnightMiner t/c 02:46, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
So what special page should I visit?
~From Contrapple Grid Empty Map 03:59, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
Never mind. My toolbar has something that will change with any page (or its talk page) on my watch list.
~From Contrapple Grid Empty Map 18:35, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
Actually, I noticed that I am only receiving notifications whe someone edits my user talk page. I ask again: Do I need to confirm my email address? If so, How do I find out what my varafiction code is?
~From Contrapple Grid Empty Map 02:01, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
If your email address isn't listed as confirmed in the Notifications section of the preferences, go to Special:CurseEmailAuth, click on 'Resend Verification Email', and check your mail a few minutes later. -- Orthotopetalk 02:08, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
How would I check my mail?
~From Contrapple Grid Empty Map 13:30, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
The e-mail message should have the verification code and a link that sends it to the wiki and verifies the email. Click on the link. If it fails for some reason, you can copy-paste the verification code into the code entry at Special:CurseEmailAuth, and click “Verify” button. — NickTheRed37 t/c (f.k.a. No, I mean how do I check my mail, not what do I do once I see the mail.

Altitude Graphs

Hello! I was wondering, would you be able to point me to any resources for reading the Anvil format? I noticed your Altitude graphs, and some prior discussion on your talk page, and it got me interested in doing some analysis of my own, but I am not sure where to look for documentation. Replies to old comments

Re this revert. In case you haven’t noticed, per the talk page guidelines, it is now just discouraged to reply to old comments, making it no longer revert-worthy. Thanks for attention, — Grid Command Block NickTheRed37 (talk|contributions) 15:10, 11 May 2015 (UTC).

Test

I notice you deleted the page "Test" and protected it from creation. What was wrong with the page?71.212.10.80 14:31, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

It does not fit our notability guidelines, as it likely just contained a test edit. It also is a high target for test edits, which belong on the MCW:Sandbox instead. KnightMiner t/c 15:12, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
Test pages tend to clutter the wiki without adding anything useful. You can either use the dedicated sandbox KnightMiner mentioned, or create an account and make a test page in your userspace. -- Orthotopetalk 15:47, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
Didn't it redirect to MCW:Sandbox?67.160.25.176 22:31, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
Even if it did, cross namespace redirects are generally avoided, as the main namespace is for pages about Minecraft, so you would not expect a page there to bring you to a page about the Minecraft Wiki. There are a few exceptions, but those are only kept because they were shortcuts before we had the MCW: shortcut. KnightMiner t/c 01:58, 19 May 2015 (UTC)

PE Windows Phone

The version for PE on Windows Phone is actually 0.11.1, not 0.11.2. 0.11.2 wasn't even mentioned by a Mojang employee to be in the works. I'll go away now. BDJP (t|c) 18:14, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

The Windows Phone store lists the current version as 0.11.2 . — Orthotopetalk 18:39, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

New host options on Console

Neither is different color wood fences, but that's there. Same with custom flat worlds. They never explicitly say what's apart of what update until they submit it for approval by Sony and Microsoft via the change logs. But we still add them because they mention them on Twitter. And always if they says it's planned for a future update, but not the next one, they explicitly do say that. Precedent is the greatest tool when editing a wiki like this. Precedent says it will be apart of the next update unless stated otherwise. CRRaysHead90 | #RaysUp 01:00, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

You undid my edits on Ghast page

I know that all mobs drop experience when killed by tamed wolves, and that was not why I edited that statement so that it didn't say tamed wolf. I did it because tamed wolves will NOT attack ghasts, no matter what. I see why you changed it, and understand completely. However, I did revert that edit you made and hope you will understand. What did that edit warning mean? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Powerguy360 (talkcontribs) at 17:28, 14 June 2015 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

The page is now protected because content disputes should be resolved through discussion on a talk page, not by edit-warring for days until someone gets tired of it and gives up. — Orthotopetalk 20:35, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. I have been trying to get him to read his talk page, but he was only social through editing. Personally, I don't know why he's trying to cause trouble {he hasn't been giving any reasons lately} but thanks for stopping this problem. I will try to reason with him. ~~Powerguy360~~ –Preceding undated comment was added at 21:02, 14 June 2015 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Sorry, Orthotope.

In advance for TeamClawPath, sorry. I just didn't know I was going to get blocked. I'm only human, and I'm just excited to own a server. Please don't block me or TeamClawPath again. Posting about a server is one thing, but vandalizing user pages is completely unacceptable. As per the wiki rules, using multiple accounts – especially to evade a block – is also prohibited. — Orthotopetalk 20:20, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

Giant Epic Walls

Hi there!

Noticed that you removed a photo I posted to the Wiki, named Giant Epic Walls. Just wanted to clear out that the photo was part of a failed attempt at adding the photo to the Amplified page, mainly because I have no idea how to add photos to articles using the source mode. Just wanted to clear this out since some wikis have a Zero-tolerance level for unnecessary photos (Im unsure if this applies for this Wiki, so I just want to be sure). I crossed the photo out and thought it was deleted, but I must clearly have been wrong about that...

--FantasiIFrittFall (talk) 18:36, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

Sometimes people have tried to use the wiki as a hosting service – uploading files here just to link to them from other sites – so I tend to delete new files if it doesn't look like there's been an attempt to put it on an article within a few hours of uploading. It's nothing personal, and you're welcome to upload it again if you think you can add it to the article. (Whether or not other editors will think it's a useful image is another issue, which I don't have control over.)
Wiki syntax can be tricky to learn. Sometimes you can copy another part of the article and modify it to do what you want. There's a comprehensive guide to images on MediaWiki. We also have a sandbox page where you can make test edits without worrying about breaking any articles. -- Orthotopetalk 01:09, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

Consistent reverting/adding unsourced info/moving pages without discussing from Tyevskyo

Hi, In the last few days I have noticed that Tyevskyo has been consistently moving pages without discussing, adding unsourced info, and reverting changes made by admins. It's really annoyed me to the point where i need to report him.

Below are some example pages of him adding unsourced info, moving pages without discussing, and/or reverting changes from admins (You'll need to review the edit history to see this):

  1. Pocket Edition version history
  2. Pocket Edition Alpha 0.12.0
  3. Pocket Edition version history/Development versions

For example today I had to undo his mess created by him moving the third page into "Pocket Edition Version History/Alpha/Development versions". Because of this I am requesting a block to his account for at least 2 weeks, add more if you find it necessary. That's all I ask for. --MarioProtIV (talk) 00:14, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

If a user's behavior needs discussing, it should generally be brought it to the admin noticeboard, rather than a single admin's talk page.
Though in this case, I would suggest you attempt to discuss this with Tyevskyo on his talk page first. Just blocking him for something like disruptive behavior without mentioning what behavior is disruptive is not constructive. KnightMiner t/c 01:00, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
Ah ok, thanks, I will discuss this with him. --MarioProtIV (talk) 01:13, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
I did stop after you gave me a reason. I was not mercilessly editing pages, I was simply making the pages more accurate by adding "Alpha", and I was not continually undoing Admin work. Tyevskyo (talk) 16:12, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
Infact, you did the exact same thing to me, so I wouldn't be talking. Also this means your a hypocrite and that whatever punishment I get you should get as well Tyevskyo (talk) 16:12, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
I will also mention how my information is not unsourced (due to the fact that it says alpha on Template:version history nav), also you're the only one bothered by this so therefore you are the nuisance. I rest my case. Tyevskyo (talk) 16:19, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
MCPE is not in beta yet so moving all those pages to have "Alpha" in it is just unnecessary at this time. When a PE dev announces that the next version will be in the Beta phase, then it can be moved. You, however didn't bring it up with the admins. --MarioProtIV (talk) 17:53, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
