- When I have an idea on Minecraft I do it, and unless it is made out of an un-flammable material, I usually accidentally blow it up/burn it to the ground. --70.181.68.226 17:27, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

- You can't hover on an iPad. Here's what they say:
- First pic: I did that edit. I'm probably not going to make any more manual edits via my bot, but you never know.
- Second: I have 2 accounts in Minecraft. One is Meeples10, the other is Meeples11. Meeples10 is older than Meeples11, because Meeples11 was made just last week, and Meeples10 was made last February.

It tore the roof off of a concrete hotel acress the street from mine. There is 2-foot-deep water in the roads. I am on the 1st floor of my hotel, and we can't open the door because the ocean water is up to the road (which, by the way, is about 1/4 of a mile away from the ocean at low tide). So I might be away from my home computer for longer than 10 days, as the eye is supposed to pass over my town on Saturday (the day I get home). I'm teetering on the edge. If you don't give you an email, what kind of communications do they send you? Does Curse only send them to the certain device you're using, or to any device using that IP? --70.181.68.226 04:20, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
- They cannot send you any communications without an email. Even if you do have an email, they will not send you any emails whatsoever. You can optionally turn on the setting to receive emails when a page you are watching is edited, but that is totally optional, and some admins don't use it. -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 04:21, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
- No communications? Huh. I'm teetering a bit closer to getting an account. --70.181.68.226 04:24, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hooray! To become auto confirmed, you may need an email, but the only message you will ever receive is a confirmation email when you add your email, just to make sure it is indeed you who owns the email. After that, no emails whatsoever. -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 04:27, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
- According to Minecraft Wiki:Autoconfirmed users, you need 10 edits in any "namespace" (the bit before the colon of a title), you must be registered for 4 days, and you need an email. -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 04:29, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
- Not to be rude or anything, but there is no "teetering". You either get an account or your userspace will be removed. I shouldn't have been indifferent when Numbermaniac asked me about IPs having a userspace. Wynthyst has made the determination that you have to get an account. We are not going to block you and you can continue to make edits, but you will not have a userspace. There is no requirement to use your email address. All you need for an account is a username and password. It's that simple. Just make one already.

Such as looking up 70.181.68.226 tells me you have cable internet through Cox Communications Inc and are possibly near Orange County, CA (or Oklahoma City, OK. It's a rough guess based on their service area and the fact that your resolve host has 'oc' in the path). 74.102.143.250 uses Verizon and is likely near Newark, NJ. 95.154.230.254 14:46, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

- Sorry Kanegasi, I didn't know. But I'm still not comfortable with people knowing how to obtain general info on where I am currently :(. I have a question, though. If people can figure out general info on where you live by looking up your IP, then why does this wiki show it for anonymous users? --70.181.68.226 20:42, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
- There is no other way to identify "anonymous" users. IPs are used to keep track of actions performed by everyone. The user right "checkuser" that only a few admins have also allow them to see IPs of logged-in users to determine if someone is using more than one account, especially for vandals or someone "sockpuppeting" by making it look like multiple people agree with them.

- Ahh, that makes sense, also because one of the wiki rules says that one person should only have one account, right? --70.181.68.226 20:51, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
- Correct. That's not just a rule though, it's general wiki etiquette. There are a few exceptions to this though, like some users with a legitimate bot account that makes a ton of repetitive edits, but generally one account per person to ensure security and constructive/stable edits.

- So... You're implying that they're implying that anyone with an IP tracker can break into my house. Whew, I didn't really grasp the concept for a sec there. --70.181.68.226 21:15, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
- I have a IP tracker because I made it, you don't just have skills and not use them... and how hard is it to make a account, It's simple, just do it. --007a83 (Talk|Contribs) 22:02, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
- I mean no one is using Sheepuff20 as a username. It can't be that hard.--007a83 (Talk|Contribs) 22:09, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Are you serious? I believe one Abuse Filter blocks unregistered users from adding external links due to advertising or spam, but that is weird. –- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 08:12, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
- I have attempted to remedy this, but there's no possible way to fix this while still stopping link spam. That filter, along with others, catches a ridiculous amount of attempted spam every day. The wiki can't go longer than 15 minutes without some spambot IP trying to replace an entire page with gibberish and spam links. The only way around this is to make an account and do at least ten edits. We can't make specific exceptions for every friendly IP.

- Numbermaniac, I saw your post on the Admin noticeboard, and I just want to clarify: It just won't let an unregistered user type one of those words. I won't block them, it just won't let them save the page. --70.181.68.226 16:11, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
- And Kanegasi, what was that protection that accidentally got me blocked? --70.181.68.226 16:15, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
- Most filters either warn users or disallow saving the change. There is an option to block a user if they trigger a filter, and we used to use this for some spam, but the only option is indefinite. It was a bit spammy itself as the abuse filter fills up the block log in the recent changes, plus banning IPs forever will eventually harm someone else down the road if that IP wasn't permanently assigned to the spam server. I would like to think that sometime in the future, we could go through the indefinite block list and start cleaning out IPs, but this may not happen. I think the abuse filter allows block time setting in later MediaWiki versions, but I am not sure of this. We used the block option for some lemon spam trigger words, and I believe there's no harm in saying that "Fruitland" was a trigger word, but I figured it was too simple to cause a block after that. "Lemon" and "Fruitland" are disallowed, but won't trigger a block. As a sort of disclaimer, please don't test the block filter to find out the trigger words. Other admins may not share my sympathy with unblocking an "innocent" more than once.

Question...
What's the point of this page? --71.118.222.30 16:48, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
- Those are the boxes on top of this page. Probably as to prevent vandalism, or just so he only has to do {{/notices}} to put it there.

- I found it a bit messy to have those boxes with their code on this page. I found it easier to have all those boxes on a separate page. Not necessarily to prevent vandalism. –- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 21:51, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

- If you delete a talk page, it deletes the main page and vice versa.

Server page
Hello, on the Server page there has been some vandalism. I deleted some of it but some of it i can't change. I'm not sure if the vandal deleted anything. I hope you can fix it, as many players like to set up servers.

Question
How do you get an edit counter to work? I'm trying to make an edit counter on User:Meeples10/editcounter, but I don't know how. I looked on Wikipedia for scripts, but I couldn't figure out which one, even on Kanegasi's Wikipedia user page. File:Meeples10 signature.png ᐸ Talk

- The strategywiki script does not work on this wiki, because of the lack of a /w/ server url. That is why Kanegasi's works. I can see it woeks now. Remember to not use it too often, otherwise it will put a heavy server load. I got in trouble there; check my first archive. I'd suggest once a fortnight; if you reach 5000+, maybe once a month. – Numbermaniac

- The style guide doesn't even mention redirects. Those were because they wanted to delete the redirect, so they had to change all the pages linking to it first. –ultradude25 ᐸ Talk
