I was wondering if you might know how of a way to view the whole map??
Any help you can give would be apprecicated.
GabrielVelasquez 21:30, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

You can use the forums, or try your luck with jeb's twitter.
I don't know which minecraftforfree website you're talking about, but it sounds like one of the many scam websites. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 21:37, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
http://minecraftforfree.com/play.php
"*MinecraftForFree was created so you can try the game to see if you like it before you purchase it."
It looks like an official site to me.
Do you know any sites or software that might show the whole map?
Which forums do you recommend?? GabrielVelasquez 03:28, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
"You are playing the latest Minecraft Beta cracked. Multiplayer DOES NOT work(unless you're on a cracked server.)"
Rather blatant piracy there. Orthotope 05:24, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, that is certainly not an official, or even legal site. The only demo of Minecraft is the PCGamer demo, which is linked on the main page. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 16:25, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
I was wondering if you knew of somewhere to suggest game improvements. Which forums did you mean?GabrielVelasquez 01:31, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
The official forums, link in the sidebar. Although I don't think there is a lot of point in suggesting game improvements if you're using an outdated and pirated version of the game. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 08:04, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip :-)

File:Heart.svg

For some reason I'm not allowed to upload SVG files. I've made this image for this wiki: [1]
It's almost identical to the images already uploaded, but this one has no gaps and has the lowest file size. SWFlash

I don't see any gaps in the current one. What's the difference? –ultradude25 (T|C) at 16:25, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
Also I noticed that SVG uploading has been disabled completely. I couldn't upload it anyway. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 08:09, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

I don't have a mac, nor is this the place to ask for support on the game. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 16:25, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Reinstate Coordinates ?

I'd like to suggest we reinstate coordinates as its own article. I see that you set it as a redirect in October, because the info was covered in the Debug screen article. However, it seems to me that the coordinates info is sort of buried on Debug screen and that it doesn't fully explain what coordinates are and how they work. Plus, Coordinates is important to other articles, such as Spawn and I think users--especially new users who might not be conversant in general mathematic principles--would profit from a fuller explanation of Coordinates. I'd be willing to work on improving the Coordinates article if it's reinstated. Thanks. --Jbutler 13:52, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

If you can expand it into a full article, then go ahead. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 16:25, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
I'll give it a try... --Jbutler 16:50, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Your Minecraft wiki skin

I have made a few tweaks of my own to your minecraft skin. Made a couple of adjustments to the tab image, and gave the content area the light blue background like the forum has. The more I look at it, the more it is growing on me...... User:Wynthyst/vector.css -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon talk 07:37, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Well I guess anything is better than boring old vector? :P
I was avoiding changing the background colour. White is the easiest to read black text on, also some images might need to be changed since for some reason they have the transparency of a GIF, even though they're PNG, so they only work properly on a white background (although it may not notice since it's not a huge change from white), but I'll try it for a while (you were also using an outdated copy of the skin, so I updated it for you).
Also, why did you need to remove the transparency from the right-side of the tab? It overlaps some of the dirt on the background, so there's not really any way to fake the transparency (it's also not necessary to fake it). –ultradude25 (T|C) at 22:51, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
It wasn't working properly for me the way it was in Chrome anyway. They looked funky and had little white corners in the green. Since I had to make the white blue, I just made the corners the same green as the background, making the tabs look much more "block like". -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon talk 02:32, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

Doors/ problems

When you put a door next to redstone ore and then put redstone dust next to the ore it causes the door to open this makes building my house really hard.... then if you remove the redstone dust the door gets stuck shut. Can someone tell me how or why that happens so i could possibly fix it????? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 98.247.89.175 (Talk) 06:47, 29 January 2012. Please sign your posts with ~~~~

template:Navbox

Hello,I am one of the administrator of the Chinese Wiki, we copy most of the templates from this wiki (because we have NO IDEA how to write them, but we do know how to change it a little bit to fit our needs). One of the most important templates: Template:Navbox has been edited by you. So I want to ask you can you add the "view, discussion, edit" buttons back on it, because due to the language differences and how our wiki works, those three links are quite important to us. If you can do that, that would be such a big help to us. Thanks. ---Powup333 02:45, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Done and documentation updated. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 04:51, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

What I mean is I don't see those three buttons on other templates(ex.Template:Blocks)---Powup333 16:49, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Did you not read the documentation? It's not the default. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 16:52, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Oh, no I hasn't, thanks.---Powup333 17:34, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Ocelot and Cat render

It takes you more time then usual to render the new mobs, I wandered why.--Yurisho 05:22, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Because I don't do mobs. That's Barracuda's department. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 05:44, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks, Ultradude for finishing the wanted templates. I can finally go to sleep. Btw. Nice work with the minecraft style. CrazyBliep - NL Admin 00:36 (UTC), 30 Januari 2012

Version history links

Dude put the minecraft version history back. You got rid of the links. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.205.225.217 (Talk) 08:14, 3 February 2012. Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Fixed, thanks. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 21:22, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Man. Double check it. Cause I think we were both working on it and I overrided your work. -ChucklesNuts
Thanks Man. Looked good till more stuff was added. I was unable to fix it at the time. But I'm adding and cleaning up some other stuff now. -ChucklesNuts

Version history anchors

Ultra, you said it was a pretty simple to fix the hundreds of broken wikilinks that originally linked to the Beta or Alpha versions. Have you done that already? Cause most links are still broken. - Asterick6 06:53, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

No one responded, so I assumed no one cared that the links were all broken. Next time I run my bot, I'll set it to replace any version history links it finds. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 10:21, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
I don't think you need any confirmations to do stuff... if we make a comment or suggestion about it.. that usually means we want something done about it. Thanks admin! - Asterick6 07:07, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
Version history#B1.8, Version history#A1.2.0, or even Version history#0.20 still don't work right.. :( - Asterick6 23:00, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
And they never will; you have to link to the specific subpage: Version history/Beta#B1.8, Version history/Alpha#A1.2.0, and Version history/Classic#0.0.20 (before you ask, there is no way to make links like yours work any more without moving everything back onto Version history; the links themselves have to be changed). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 23:45, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
Why would you use this old link? It's pretty obvious that all the old links such as these need to be changed to point to the new page locations. That's exactly what I was implying. It's already been said in a few posts above (in the other section as well). Ultra said he just needed to add a script to a bot to replace all instances of these types of links. It's not even that hard. If I knew javascript or the code used by the bots, I would do it, but unfortunately I don't. Maybe you do Dinoguy? - Asterick6 05:34, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
For example, the script could search for "Version history#B1.8 or "Beta 1.8" and replace them with "Version history/Beta#B1.8". What's with the delay...? I've notified about this since last year when the pages were moved. - Asterick6 05:38, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
I've been busy with other stuff. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 06:49, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
Most links should be fixed now. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 09:58, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
Sorry for complaining. It's just that we're used to you replying quickly and fixing things right after they've been found. Thanks for fixing this! - Asterick6 07:16, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
Update: The Development versions links need a bit more tweaking since all different versions were moved to that page. For example, the link to Beta 1.9 Pre-release was replaced (with /Beta), (but of course they are no longer located on the Beta page).
So I suggest searching for Pre-release]] (with the ]] to make sure it only searches for links), Pre-release 1]], Pre-release 2]], Pre-release 3]], Pre-release 4]], (up to 6 since that's what 1.9pre went up to), and also Prerelease]], Prerelease 1]], Prerelease 2]], Prerelease 3]], (up to 6), and also Pre release]], Pre release 1]] (up to 6). If the search is case-sensitive, then it'll need to search for both P and p and possibly P with R (if there are any that are spelled Pre-Release). Also, need to search for pre1]] (up to 6).
Then if it finds a match, then search for /Beta in the matched string (the whole word/text between the spaces) and replace with /Development versions.
This should fix it xD (Sorry for the detailed suggestion. Just wanted to help with the process).
and P.S. the Release Candidates might need to be fixed too. - Asterick6 07:46, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
That's not how the find and replace works. What it finds is what it replaces, so searching for the link name won't do anything useful.
I'll have it fixed in a few minutes. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 08:17, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
They should be fixed now. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 08:20, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

UnusedFiles Special page.

I think I am done with Special:UnusedFiles. There is a small chance that I skip one here and there, but 99,9% is checked. One image is protected, but can be deleted. [File:Clouds-distance2.png]. The images that are used by NL and DE are categorized, en:Category:DE_image, en:Category:NL_image and en:Category:DE+NL_image. Oliver is removing the DE images on the DE pages and I have removed the NL images. The images that are remaining are .png files that on the English wiki changed to .svg files. NL and DE can't upload .svg files. CrazyBliep (NL Admin) - 06 Februari 2012 11:59 (UTC)

Thanks.
That file is used in the minecraft skin, so it's not actually included in a page.
We can't upload SVG files either, it'll probably be fixed after the wiki has been upgraded to 1.18. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 12:05, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

MCDawn

Hey Ultradude25

Could I know why did MCDawn get removed? O.o Thanks in advance

–Preceding unsigned comment was added by Jonnyli1125 (Talk|Contribs) 15:58, 8 February 2012. Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Because it's an exact copy of Custom servers/MCDawn, which is where custom servers are supposed to be. And you obviously already know it exists because you've already edited it multiple times. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 05:36, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Reverting multiple edits

Is there a way to automatically insert the "Reverted edits by x to last revision by y" summary, or does it have to be written by hand every time? -- Orthotope 11:40, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

That's inserted by clicking the "rollback" link next to the username et al. on the latest diff for a page, or the "rollback" link next to the "undo" link on the latest revision for a page when viewing its history, but ordinarily only admins can see the link (it is granted via the "rollback" user right). On some wikis (most prominently, perhaps, is Wikipedia), this user right is in a separate user group which can be assigned to individual editors, but there is no such group here, and only admins and Curse staff have the right.
If you're willing to work through any issues you may face while doing so, Twinkle can be used here to simulate rollback functionality (and also features a ton of other very useful stuff), but I can't provide any help if you encounter problems trying to use it here. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 11:57, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Ban complain bergerkiller

I just received an (Dutch) email from bergerkiller complaining his ban. Since he is banned on the English wiki I cant do anything with that. A copy of his message:

Ik had wat problemen met de vorige host (Bukkit WIKI), waarbij ik afbeeldingen niet kon verkleinen. Dus toen heb ik besloten om de volgende pagina te verhuizen naar de Minecraft WIKI:
http://wiki.bukkit.org/index.php?title=TrainCarts-Plugin

Naar de volgende locatie:
http://www.minecraftwiki.net/TrainCarts-Plugin

Alleen dit copy-pasten bleek dus de auto-spam-blocker te activeren, waardoor ik nu dus geblocked ben:
 Start of block: 16:25, 12 February 2012
 Expiry of block: FOREVER
 Intended blockee: Bergerkiller
 IP address is 94.213.199.210
 Block ID is #4696

I told he he should ask an English admin, but he couldn't find an admin with using the "Enable e-mail from other users" function.. Maybe you can take a look at his ban? --STS(t|c) 20:12, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

He sent me an e-mail. He tried to make mod pages in the mainspace, so that's probably why it blocked him. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 04:40, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Restore some files

File:2011-03-15 14.05.55.png and File:2011-03-15 14.06.55.png were deleted because they were unused, however, they have been on the Monster Spawner page for quite a while. Cool12309(Talk|Contributions|Sandbox) 23:51, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

It showed up as unused because it was linked using :File: instead of Media: –ultradude25 (T|C) at 04:21, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
It should show up on Special:WhatLinksHere regardless of how it's referenced; you need to check for any such links before deleting files as well. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 07:26, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
If it's linked, it shouldn't show up in Special:UnusedFiles, and it should show the link in the File links section, which it doesn't if you use :File: for some dumb reason. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 09:32, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
There is a certain logic to it, if you think about it for a minute: ":File:" is the syntax for linking to a file rather than embedding it, and a file is "unused" (as a file) if it isn't embedded anywhere. I agree, though, it would be more useful if Special:UnusedFiles at least had an option to exclude files that are linked to but not embedded anywhere. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 18:25, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
I understand why they might do it, but why would you ever link to a file page that isn't going to be used for a file? It's stupid to not make it function as you would expect (and in a way that would be more convenient, and prevent errors like this in the first place), just because technically the file isn't actually embedded or directly linked to (using Media: still lists it as used, but that doesn't embed it, it links directly to the image). –ultradude25 (T|C) at 13:33, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Need to upload a .ogg please help!

i wanna upload a .ogg file to my page but it wont do it help!!!! Firefox4 21:22, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

I can't do anything about that. Curse is very busy with the upgrade to 1.18, so you'll have to wait until after that is done. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 13:28, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Whats your problem? And don't delete things without checking.

"05:21, 15 November 2011 Ultradude25 (Talk | contribs) protected "Version history/Development versions" [edit=autoconfirmed] (indefinite) [move=autoconfirmed] (indefinite) ‎ (Requested. Lots of dumb edits from IP editors) (hist)"

That is uncalled for. And if you check this history of last weeks snapshot, I updated a whole lot of stuff. So I am not a Unauthorized user. Or I quote "Lots of dumb edits from IP editors"

Plus you delete my post without checking to see if they are even listed. Which they are not listed anywhere.

Watch what you do. Cause you recently have caused more harm than good. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by ChucklesNuts (Talk|Contribs) 03:06, 16 February 2012. Please sign your posts with ~~~~

The page was protected before you had even joined the wiki. And it is already listed. –ultradude25 (T|C) at16:21, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
So I add two different updates to the page, then the third I am unable? Hmm... Really suspicious man. ChucklesNuts
Suspicious? Seriously? This is a wiki, it's impossible to do something without everyone being able to know about it. Look at the protection log date yourself. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 16:29, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
If I'm not mistaking you are an autoconfirmed user, ChucklesNuts, so you should be able to edit the semi-protected pages. If not, report the problem to the admin noticeboard. – Scaler (t) 17:05, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for keeping your sanity

I know I definitely couldn't with spammers like that. It sounds like fun and games swinging the ban hammer around but I'd be sick of it after a month or so. Thanks for all the the work you've done on this wiki. You deserve some praise. --Moxxy 02:28, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Banning people and deleting things are the best parts of the job. :D –ultradude25 (T|C) at 03:26, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
I'll second this. Thanks to you (and all the other admins and regular contributors) for not only keeping the wiki clean and functional, but also constantly making improvements. -- Orthotope 07:25, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
