docTabs.js
Your docTabs script still has the /wiki/ usage in it. The tabs end up going to a blank page titled "Wiki/Template:Example/doc". —Kanegasi ☺C 02:27, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
- I swear I remember fixing that before... must've been a different script. –Matt ⎜ 04:30, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
Logo of MCWiki
Hi! Can I use your(?) logo of MCWiki with modification on minecraft-pl.gamepedia.com? Logo has only Mojang license so I want to ask you about it. There is a link: pl:File:Minecraft_Wiki_PL_header.png. It is probalby not a final version of modification. We want use it on home page (proposition of homepage: pl:Strona główna/propozycja. You allow us to use this on MCWikiPL? Sorry for my poor English :) Lewandowskipl.Wiki Admin talk 21:28, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- All language wikis here are part of "Minecraft Wiki" so any image you see here is freely usable and modifiable across all languages. In this case, I would at least link back to our logo in your image description.

Have you heard of stereotypes?
I made that edit so others wouldn't get confused. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Boxesandmoreboxes (talk • contribs) 03:26, 18 December 2013 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
Block and mob renders
I've seen several block and mob renders and I was wondering how you made them, since I would like to make some of my own that look that good. --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 17:29, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
MediaWiki:Common.css/MediaWiki:Common.js
I don't know what you did, but it drastically changed my custom wiki skin. It wasn't like this before you changed the site CSS/JavaScript, so I think this is what caused it. Meeples10t ~ c 12:37, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
- Ok? –Matt ⎜ 12:39, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
Apology
Dear Majr,
It's been a long month and I just wanted to apologize about the "persistent speculation and uploading of unwanted images". I wasn't trying to do anything wrong, I was only trying to help. I just wanted to make the pages look a little more formal and contribute to the wiki if I could. I didn't intend for any trouble. I'll try to make sure I don't upload any more unwanted images. Notify me if I make any mistakes in the future. Merry Christmas and happy new year.
Sincerely,
SquareMan –Preceding unsigned comment was added by SquareMan78649 (talk • contribs) 15:32, 26 December 2013 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- Do you want to be blocked again? You've come back and you're doing the exact same edits that got you blocked before... –Matt ⎜ 01:38, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
I, I, I don't know what to say. For some reason I just can't... I, I'm sorry. I don't know what to, to... I didn't mean for any trouble. I just wanted to help.

Blocks 'n Stuff
Hey, i've seen you do images of blocks and stuff, and i know you use blender for like the chests and whatnot, but i was wondering, what angle of the camera is it? I have a wiki for my mod that i need better block images for the infobox off to the side of the block's page, and i was wondering the angles of the camera from blender. Thanks! --MCE626 (talk) 09:21, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
- Use numpad 1 to reset the camera angle, then use the numpad arrows to move the camera at a set angle. It should be obvious once you reach the correct one. –Matt ⎜ 10:07, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
- ok, thanks. And i was wondering about blocks with transparent textures... I have crops in my mod, and some other blocks that use transparency, and when i set the texture to the cube, it has the transparent part as white... --MCE626 (talk) 20:03, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
- Select the A box in Shading > Material, I think. What you see is also different from how the render will turn out. Just because your do or don't see transparency, doesn't mean the render will or won't have transparency. They have separate settings, and I can never remember where they are. You should just google this stuff. –Matt ⎜ 05:17, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
Break tags
In reviewing the history of a page I was considering editing, I noticed that your bot is converting <br /> tags to <br>. I'm curious as to why. The former is both HTML and XML (XHTML) compliant while the latter is only HTML compliant. I've searched the Wiki rules and your usertalk archives before asking. Thanks! Catch0x16 (talk) 13:09, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
<br />is ugly, and we're using HTML5 so XHTML support doesn't matter. Even if we changed to using XHTML for some wierd reason the wiki would automatically convert the tag, so I prefer the shorter one. –Matt ⎜ 13:25, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
Cats
Hi, I'm trying to add an external link to the page, but I keep getting these "select cat images". Every time (it must have been around ten times now), I successfully select cat pics and upon clicking "Save page", asks me again. Is this deliberate to prevent spam, or is it a glitch? Phinbart (talk) 18:06, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- That is an anti-link-spam thing to prevent excessive links to other sites from automatic editing. If you don't select all the cat images it resets and asks you again. It is basically like those pictures with the distorted letters you must type into a text box. --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 18:10, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- No, I mean, is it a glitch that it keeps coming up? I've tried twice already, carefully selecting and deducing what is a cat and what is not, and it keeps resetting! Phinbart (talk) 18:19, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- It has been a bit annoying for me, with moving a link it comes up sometimes, and rarely it does not identify that I selected all the cats. --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 18:32, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- I've given up for now. I'm going to test it out again tomorrow. Phinbart (talk) 21:06, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- ASIRRA has been causing some issues for a while. If you're using IE, try it with something else. –Matt ⎜ 21:54, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

Module?
Can you tell us what it is, how to use them, and how to create?
Ivan-r is admin in ru-MWiki 04:40, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- WP:Lua, mw:Extension:Scribunto. Module is where the lua scripts are kept, which will replace any templates that are too slow/unreadable. If Wyn hasn't installed the extension on the other languages, you'll need to go bug her about it.
- Don't use any modules that I haven't yet replaced the original template with, as I haven't tested them yet. You should probably just wait a few days until I've finished messing around. –Matt ⎜ 04:46, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
Bot
I saw a bot on another wiki that has a request feature. Shouldn't you add one for yours? --tonkku107 «Talk

- It's AWB, not a fully automated bot. If you have a request, you put it here. –Matt ⎜ 02:20, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
New Template:Sprite
What new features does the new Template:Sprite, or Module:Sprite have over the old one? Is it just more efficient or does it offer new things that could not be done before? --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 16:04, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
- Faster, creates much less HTML, mainly. There's a few things here and there but I haven't done anything with them yet. –Matt ⎜ 05:07, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
- Any way to add a color filter feature? For potions, leather armor, and spawn eggs that would be useful, needing less images for colors. --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 03:29, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
- I don't know what that has to do with lua. It doesn't have any access to images, and there's no colour filters in HTML. The best you could do is a transparent overlay image with a background color, but there's really no issue with having hundreds of images. That's what we have sprites for in the first place. –Matt ⎜ 06:12, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Module:Grille at French Minecraft Wiki
Hi, I'm trying to update grid templates at the French wiki and I've installed the "grid" modules. Since the arguments "Output", "Fuel" and "Input" are translated respectively as "Résultat", "Combustible" and "Ingrédient" on every page, I would like to translate these args in the module to show the pictures, but the accents prevent me from making changes. I don't really want to change hundreds of pages ... So, is there a way to bypass this? Thank you — Itouchmasterpro d c 20:27, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
- Use bracket notation (
args['Résultat']) rather than dot notation (args.Résultat), which only works with A–Z characters. –Matt ⎜ 05:04, 26 January 2014 (UTC)- Thank you very much, it works fine! ... But the numbers don't appear, because we use the old "|NR=%" on our pages. I want to change the Module:Grille so that this form works but the "|" prevents me from making changes (I tried to put brackets and/or apostrophes, but it still doesn't work). What should I do? Thank you! — Itouchmasterpro d c 09:38, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
- I made the cell function accept a number argument and made the craftingTable function send the NR argument for the output to it, which makes it work as it used to. But you really should get rid of NR or you'll never have full animation support. Most of it could be done with a bot. –Matt ⎜ 12:52, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
Now I'm trying to set up Module:Sprite (and Module:Sprite/Bloc, Module:Sprite/Objet, etc.) but the sprites don't appear. Where is the problem? Also, i've the same problem as earlier: accents for certain words (Entité, Schéma) prevent me from applying changes in Module:Sprite. What should I do in this case? Thanks — Itouchmasterpro d c 17:44, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
- Where were you having issues? In imgClasses? Just use bracket notation (
['Entité']) for the names. The "name" parameter of the sprite is used as part of the class (but lowercase) as well as the page where it gets the IDs from. So make sure the name and the classname in Common.css match up. –Matt ⎜ 06:07, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
- Everything before the first hyphen will be used as the link, this will be used in the future to make it simpler to link to the correct page.
- Example:
{{BlockLink|Grass Block+top}}: Grass Block. This automatically uses "Grass Block" as the link, without having to do all this:{{BlockLink|id=grass-block-top|Grass Block}}. - This should be fine since you'd never use the id as the link, because it wouldn't be an existing page. Show me an example where this isn't the case for you. –Matt ⎜ 07:32, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
- (In Template:Bloc) this link
{{LienBloc|id=minerai-lapis-lazuli|Lapis-lazuli (minerai)|Minerai de lapis-lazuli}}should redirect to the "Lapis-lazuli (minerai)" page, but this is not the case since it only holds the part before the hyphen (that is required in French). So it redirects to the "Lapis" page that doesn't exist. I've specified the id. The same with{{LienBloc|id=lapis-lazuli|Lapis-lazuli (bloc)|Bloc de lapis-lazuli}}. Look at http://minecraft-fr.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Mod%C3%A8le:Blocs&action=edit. — Itouchmasterpro d c 16:37, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
- (In Template:Bloc) this link
- Alright, I've changed it to use the full link if an id is specified. I also changed the separator to
+. –Matt ⎜ 00:14, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

{{Arcane Worktable}} is working. Not sure about the order of the aspects, and the aspect numbers don't show up correctly right now. –Matt ⎜ 07:49, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
- Nice! Thanks! also the output is a little offset... Link to an image. The order of them is the same as in the first screenshot. They are empty if they are. --tonkku107 «Talk
Contribs» 13:56, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
- So they always stay in that order? (I assuming it's ordered Aer, Ignis, Odor) –Matt ⎜ 00:19, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
- I only moved the three aspects I was testing to the correct names. The numbers are now the same size as in the image and have a black outline. –Matt ⎜ 12:25, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, but I'm having trouble understanding how it works. –Matt ⎜ 13:13, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

Javascript and lua
On the last conversation, you suggested to wait for lua being implements, and now with lua, can you explain a bit how JavaScript parse a lua module? an example would be nice. —Powup333 ZH Admin 00:50, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- Lua replaces the JS. –Matt ⎜ 02:23, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, in that case, lua can access template just like normal pages does, right? —Powup333 ZH Admin 02:40, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- That's kind of the point of having it. –Matt ⎜ 02:41, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
