Warden Sniff/Calm state[]

After doing some testing, the Wardens Sniff range is an oval shaped radius with a 6 block y radius and a 5 block x&z radius centered around the wardens feet (lowest block in the wardens hitbox), and not the 6 blocks horizontally/20 blocks vertically stated on its wiki page. The second thing is that in order for the warden to be in a “calm” state and for its “dig_cooldown” ttl to start going down, no mob must be within a 48x51x48 LHW of the wardens middle block (1 block above the wardens feet block). This is not stated at all in the wiki page of the warden.– Unsigned comment added by Bobbob9371 (talkcontribs) at 2 July 2022 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

Thank you for your testing, that sounds very interesting. Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with technical info about the game like this, but you're welcome to just edit the warden page yourself to clarify what you found. Just make sure you leave an edit summary that clearly explains your reasoning. You can also use the talk page if you're unsure about anything or want more opinions. You might be able to find people who know more than me there. I hope this helps. Madminecrafter12 (talk) 04:14, 3 July 2022 (UTC)

I am unsure as to why but I am unable to edit the warden’s wiki page because im not registered, although i am using a registered account. Any idea on how to fix this?– Unsigned comment added by Bobbob9371 (talkcontribs) at 3 July 2022 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

You don't have enough edits yet. Amatulic (talk) 15:13, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
Oh, it looks like the page has been protected so that only autoconfirmed users can edit it. The requirements to become an autoconfirmed user have changed recently I believe, as you used to be automatically autoconfirmed if you just registered as a user, and after that you became one if you just verified your email address (which I see you did). According to the main Fandom site, you have to have had an account at least 4 days to become autoconfirmed. If that doesn't work, maybe try making a few more edits. Let me know what does allow you to become autoconfirmed and edit the page, however, because I'll make sure to update this page to reflect that, since apparently the info there is heavily outdated. --Madminecrafter12 (talk) 16:10, 3 July 2022 (UTC)

FWIW, the sniff distance is (at least on Java) definitely 6x6x20. It has two distances it uses, 6 for X/Z and 20 for Y. - AD OffKilter (talk) 16:35, 3 July 2022 (UTC)

I actually just tested it on myself (I am on Java Edition 1.19) and it seems that the 6x6x20 radius might be specific to players, as I had done extensive testing on rabbits and it seems that the warden can only add anger towards mobs within a 5 block radius (not the oval like I had previously thought) of itself from the feet position. I find it odd that there is this distinction between player and mob, and I wonder if this distinction also applies to the "calm" state of the warden, as I had also tested that one with rabbits. Ill do further testing later.

From my own testing it seems like there's a distinction between the warden increasing its anger (which seems to be in the 6x6x20 zone) and the warden pathfinding towards the nearest mob and being prevented from despawning, which appears to be a much larger range. This discussion might be better moved to Talk:Warden however, as Madminecrafter gets a notification for every reply or edit on this user talk page.–Sonicwave talk 06:47, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

Navigation popups[]

Hello, you originally imported the 'navigation popups' gadget so that it could be enabled in user preferences. The recent update to the wiki software broke the 'patrol' feature. It used to have a link to mark something as patrolled, but that isn't there anymore. User:Majr fixed that before, but he's inactive. Would you take a look? See the discussion at Minecraft Wiki:Admin noticeboard#Navigation popups gadget no longer working. Amatulic (talk) 15:13, 3 July 2022 (UTC)

All I did was import it originally; unfortunately, I personally am quite unfamiliar with how the gadget coding actually works, so I'm unsure of the root of the problem nor how to fix it. --Madminecrafter12 (talk) 16:16, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
