Hey mate, instead of trying to tear this idea down, why not use all your 'energy' you spend running down newbies to this wiki into actually contributing to the minecraft community. Yes Iceblocks in general need invedit to achieve however they do occur naturally in the game and if you can exploit the environment to your advantage this 'floating water platform' notion can be achievable...

Its alright I'm new to this and I rushed it without understanding how to use this site properly, you need the redstone dust so when the ice melts the water doesn't 'collapse' downwards. The redstone dust makes the water float in a single cube above. Does that make sense? The end product is a single cube of still water floating in air just to clear things up a bit.

Water does destroy redstone dust NORMALLY, however in this case it doesnt.

Flowing Water
Are you sure about the flowing water blast resistance value? It's not 0 like the flowing lava? – Scaler (t) 22:11, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
No, I directly took the values from the code itself. One possible explanation to this is that when TNT explodes in both still/flowing water, it does not destroy any blocks, but it does when it is in flowing lava (from my experience). Calinou - talk × contribs » 22:25, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

- I tried to edit the page, but I was pretty sure a edit conflict would happen. So, I selected all the text, then copied it. There was a edit conflict. I replaced it with my text - but I forgot the first part, so I had to add it back. Then, I fixed adding the first part. About Redirects
Although redirects are helpful, I've noticed people using the redirects a lot more than direct page links. I've been told that this can be accumulative extra bandwidth or processing or something. I noticed you created many redirects for incorrect case and such of some new pages, and I also notice everyone links to "Nether" instead of "The Nether." It's pretty inefficient, and I feel like it promotes bad editing habits that lead to double redirects and such. Red links are meant to teach the user proper linking, when they've spelled a name wrong, etc. It's okay to have redirects for moved pages and such, but we shouldn't promote redirects for names done incorrectly.
I just wished to say this. I am one of the top editors at BioShock Wiki, and I have been strictly taught against using redirects whenever possible. MegaScience 15:40, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Moving

- The image/invimage defaults to the title, and the title defaults to the basepagename. So you need to set image and invimage to the old page name you just moved the page from.
- Alternatively, you can upload a duplicate of the image/invimage under the correct name (the page name in most cases), and then mark the original image and the duplicate with the new Interwiki move template. Damage Update
It seems you are one of the chief editors of the wiki who don't know the correct values for the Damage Update in Pre-release 3. (or 4, I tested it in 4 but I heard accounts of it being updated in 3) and it is causing quite a few interruptive edits over correct values. The majority of the mobs had their health changed, so that most mobs have unique health, and the damage of the weapons was nerfed severely to make way for damage enchantments, just how the sprint jump distance was reduced from 4 to 3 to make way for the speed boost and the armour protection was reduced for the protection enchantments. Reverted edit to "Ghast" article
My addition to the Ghast article regarding the "Ghasts spawn near overworld portals" was undone by you. May I ask why? (I'm guessing that my edit wasn't clear enough and looked like it was supporting the rumor; my intent was to highlight that it is by no means a proven fact.)
This is a fairly pervasive rumor that has no basis, however people have examined the code and found no evidence to support the rumors. It has also been claimed that "Notch stated on Twitter a few weeks back that he never got around to coding in for them to spawn in the overworld." but I was unable to find the tweet that was being referred to - a shame since it would make a very reliable source to finally debunk the myth.

1: Code. There is no evidence in the code that Ghasts spawn near portals in the Overworld.
