As a fan of the mysterious and forgotten, as well as an information gatherer/hoarder, I have gone deep into rabbit holes of Minecraft's past and even further into strange trivial paths. Though I first played Minecraft in 2012, I receive nostalgia when viewing content from before then as I played the older versions and have done a lot of research about the game.

Trivia

  • Mobs in Minecraft: Story Mode have genders while mobs in Vanilla Minecraft do not.
  • Creepers are mostly accepted as plant-like. The official Mobestiary also reveals that Creepers are made of moss and Notch stated he imagined their skin would feel like leaves. Their original texture also shows the alpha leaf texture which was used to overlay the gray test texture.
  • In disc11, the "monster" which chases the person in the recording is either an enderman or C418 himself.[1][2][3][4]
  • The title screen has a 1 in 10,000 chance of displaying “Minceraft” instead of “Minecraft”.
  • The enchanting table letters are taken from the game Commander Keen's Standard Galactic Alphabet.
  • On July 30, 2011, people on 4chan started petitioning for Endermen to be renamed to Far Landers as a reference to the Far Lands. To this Notch Tweeted "How about we just rename the "far lands" to "the end" instead? ;D"
  • Villagers originally had nameplates above their heads saying "Testificates."
  • Minecraft used to have "shaders" which were filters enabled by a button labeled "Super Secret Settings" which would pick one at random.
  • Staring into an enderman's eyes will not only agrovate it, but freeze it until you look away.
  • When Evokers are near blue sheep they will turn them into red sheep. When doing so, they will wave their arms shouting "Wololo." This is a reference to the Priest’s conversion ability in Age of Empires, which allowed their army to gain control of an opponent’s unit, thus having them switch sides.
  • Everything in Easter eggs.
