Eating food is one of the main mechanics in Minecraft. But sometimes a player may quickly lose food when he is out of his base and start starving. This tutorial focuses on some of the fastes ways to get some food.

Killing animals witch drop meat with fire

[Java Edition only][upcoming: BE 1.16.100] When is cow, mooshroom, pig, hoglin, chicken, sheep, rabbit, cod, salmon, guardian, elder guardian or dolphin killed by fire, they drop cooked variant of their meat. This list shows mobs, food from them when they are killed without fire and food from them when they are killed by fire:

Cooked have the better saturation and restore more hunger and saturation than raw meat. Player can kill mobs with fire using flint and steel, fire charge, lava or some natrally generated fire in the nether.

Rotten Flesh

Rotten flesh is one of the most common items in minecraft. It can be earned from chest loot, zombies (witch are very common) and som other mobs like zombified piglin. When is rotten flesh eated, it have 80% to give player hunger for 30 seconds. The best way to eat rotten flesh with short duration of hunger is drinking milk after eating rotten flesh

Dried Kelp

Kelp very common if the player is near the ocean. The biggest disadvantage is that dried kelp restore only 1 (🍗) hunger and 0.6 saturation.
