Mods (short for modifications) are anything that changes Minecraft's game content from what it originally was. Mods are getting increasingly popular and in-depth, adding whole new experiences and goals to the game.
While individual mods often have wikis of their own, it can often be difficult to find them, they may be outdated or lacking crucial information, and they are often in different formats.
This section of the Minecraft Wiki is currently under construction, but aims to help reduce these issues by providing a single place for many mod wikis.
Guide to Mod Types
If you are confused by some of the keywords in the "Content" sections of the mod lists below, here is an explanation of each.

- Machine means it adds new block types that allow a different method of obtaining items.

List of Supported Mods
If you are looking for the wiki pages for a specific mod, please check this section. Note: This is not a list of mods. That can be found here. This is a list of mods that have wiki pages.
Jar Mods
Mods in this section do not make use of the ModLoader, Forge, or Bukkit APIs, and must be directly installed to minecraft.jar or the server JAR file. As thus, they are often incompatible with other mods. See How To Install Mods.
If this is your userpage, then you can retrieve the contents of this page in the page history. Images formerly on your page may have been deleted, so contact the wiki administrators to have them restored.
However, please ensure that links, files and templates on your userpages continue to work as intended, and that these pages are free of maintenance errors that may place them in maintenance categories. Failure to correct these may result in subsequent re-blanking or the problematic areas being commented out or removed.

ModLoader Mods
Mods in this section require the ModLoader API, or the Forge API. All ModLoader mods should be compatible with Forge, but ModLoader itself is incompatible with Forge. Install only Forge if using both Forge mods and ModLoader mods. ModLoader mods may either go in the /mods directory of .minecraft, or they may require being installed to minecraft.jar, and thus may cause incompatibilities. Check individual mod installation pages to be sure.

Forge Mods
Mods in this section require the Forge API. Forge mods may either go in the /mods directory of .minecraft, or the /coremods directory. It is very rare for Forge mods using either method to be incompatible with each other. Very rarely, though, they may require being installed to minecraft.jar, and thus may cause incompatibilities . Check individual mod installation pages to be sure.

How to Help
I am currently in the process of designing it to a standard that will be easily understandable and editable, so please do not add or change anything until I edit this page. -Qwertygiy
