Did you know about these in Minceraft?

These facts do not exist in the "Did you know about that" section is homepage.

  • Microsoft says that it fixes 5 bugs in MCPE, but also adding 76 MB size to app size? This is the same for some Java Edition versions.
  • Creepers' original texture in 2009 had leaves?
  • The void is actually... a biome? but it's NOT that "the void" under bedrock?, the one with the 33x33 stone area?
  • The trees are the first structure? Though it's not a generated structure?
  • You can find flowers in.. air?
  • The reason bees, dolphins, turtles were added because due to Mojang's trend of adding endangered animals?
  • MCPE's old gui uses Legend of the Chambered's GUI.
  • Minecraft Dungeons may have taken inspiration from Notch's old plans (source) for the Minecraft Java Edition.
  • calm4.ogg is unused for 11 years, making it unused for a long time.
  • When the /kill command was first added, it damaged the target 1000 damage, but in 1.6 this was changed to 3.4×1038 void damage, which is another way to say this can't kill entities that can't be killed (like fireballs, arrows, players in creative mode), In 1.8, this was fixed to instantly kill everything.
  • Charged creeper's aura enters to category armor?
  • Before 1.6, sounds and other resources were played from Mojang's cloud server.
  • Did you know that there is NO difference between Piglin with Wooden Sword and Piglin with Golden Sword.
  • Did you know that there is NO difference between Poison IV and Poison II.
  • Original idea for The End was The Sky, It originally was planned to be like overworld including mobs, blocks, the only difference it was floating, It was gonna be accessible by sleeping in Bed, it is unknown why it is canceled.
  • Villagers can sleep normally... in the nether?
  • Piglins will not attack fishermen villagers, despite they are provoked when a barrel is opened.
  • Piglins can close and open the doors.
  • Java Edition is the only version that uses the 1.9 combat, It's obvious why other versions don't use it.
  • Read again the title, but closely.
  • Minecraft Classic Web Remake uses Noa Engine, unlike the original Minecraft Classic?
  • The Void (not the one with 33x33 stone area) is originally called Sky?
  • The Void's original color was blue?
  • The only thing that doesn't change in every Minecraft world is the bedrock pattern?
  • Raids can happen in every biome?
  • The reason why Creepers are bright green because Notch wanted them to be well camouflaged for the original alpha leaves texture,
  • The reason Striders drop string is because of the question "How do Piglins make Crossbows?".

Why other versions don't use 1.9 combat

Java Edition is the only version that uses 1.9's combat system, although only ONE feature has been implemented to Bedrock Edition, It's blocking with shield, as blocking with sword never existed, they had to add this feature at least, the rest of features of 1.9 combat system were not added, which is a good thing for mobile players, here is why: First of all, If 1.9 combat existed in Bedrock Edition, it will be impossible to fight with other players, MCPE PvP would be ruined, as after 1.9 combat, there is a cooldown on hit, a second cooldown is enough to ruin the game itself, and in 1.9 combat, swords deal less damage than axes, which is also a con for 1.9 combat, as cooldowns and decreased damage would be extremely hard to PvP, mainly a mobile player would have a medium CPS, Me with that CPS would only deal 3 damage (including armor) in 1.9 combat system, You may ask, Why is there no blocking with sword in MCPE? You have to crouch to activate shield, If we had Sword Blocking, you had to crouch to block but you can't break blocks or use items, who could block and attack at the same time? And also you could still take damage while blocking, you also have to click 2 times to crouch, it's hard as you see, that's why it's not added.

TL;DR, It would be hard to PvP in MCPE, and some features before 1.9 (like sword blocking) were not added for same reason.

About Herobrine and the seed and Alpha v1.2.3_03

So Herobrine seed has been found, they even found pack.png seed and title seed, so the Herobrine seed doesn't mean herobrine will spawn, it means the seed where the Herobrine's screenshot was taken, a player with the herobrine skin was in that picture, even it was described as a hoax, many people (even me) thought herobrine existed and had a seed where he spawned, and about the Alpha v1.2.3_03, it's a version that never existed, people claimed Herobrine existed in that version and Mojang removed it because of it, however it is unknown why it's skipped, and no, Herobrine didn't exist, In 2019, Russian MC Players made a unofficial version with the name Alpha v1.2.3_03, The version had trees with no leaves, signs randomly generating with random weird words, some mobs never spawned, game locked to small render distance since the screenshot of Herobrine had those, this version is commonly referred as a creepypasta, this version also had a intentional "glitch" where all blocks displayed a block with colors, and the Herobrine, it is 11 years old mystery, nowadays, everyone knows its fake, but some people are still uploading videos that are not even related with him, and to the origins, it first appeared in Brocraft live stream, it appeared as retextured painting, at the end of live stream, everyone was redirected to a page with Herobrine's face but with black eyes. Shortly after, The Herobrine Hoax went viral, Many people made mods, resource packs, etc. about it, even some people claimed Herobrine is Notch's dead brother, but Notch later said that he does not have a dead brother, or even a alive brother. The hoax spreaded fast through the community, many videos that are actually related to him are made, In 2014, Herobrine's popularity was decreasing, many people faked him which led people not to believe it and many people stopped making mods, packs, etc. Many people also stopped making videos about it, and some people started to make clickbait videos that are not even related to him, which made people hate Herobrine videos, which also affected Herobrine's popularity, Nowadays, no one believes him, and people no longer has pleasure while trying to find seeds or using mods, that led to Herobrine hoax to be officialy fake by nearly every MC player.

TL;DR, Everyone believed Herobrine was real, it went viral until 2014, most people stopped making mods or packs about him, and bad videos about Herobrine spreaded to the community, because of these, no one had pleasure on it. Which made people confirm he is officially fake by the community.

My opinion about Microsoft

Ahh.. Microsoft, the company we like to hate

Well.. Most people are not that much fond of Microsoft, but the worse that can happen.. First, If Microsoft didn't bought it, the feature that is in Minecraft JE would be brought to MCPE in 7-8 years, but the updates raised quickly too fast after Microsoft bought Mojang, and micro-transactions only exist in Multiplayer, but the worse could happen if EA bought it, micro-transactions would exist in Singleplayer, and also the prices are not too expensive, I think most people can afford it just like how they bought the game. I don't have too much opinion about MS, and I can't tell much about them. They also develop Windows 10, Windows 8, Office, Halo, they can't do everything at once, so people needs to stop critique MS too much...

You "probably" know everything WRONG about Account Migration

So on Q2 (April, May, June) 2021, Mojang is migrating accounts to Microsoft accounts, not everyone seems to like it, and the video on YouTube has 8k dislikes, is it really what actually the community think? Well people said it enables 2FA by default, but it's optional, people said old accounts will get lost, but Mojang give a extra a few months for old players to create a new e-mail accounts, contact support, etc, and Mojang actually did this since most accounts get easily hacked by using tactics, and some server owners say that ban evading will end, but VPNs and Account dispensers still exist, and cracked launchers are NOT gonna end, basically cracked launchers are not like copying files, it just enables offline mode by default, offline mode is a feature that always existed in Minecraft, but you can only use it when you are logged in, but cracked launchers enable this without a account, and the other uses of offline mode is demo mode, it logs to the offline mode to prevent exploits, if cracked launchers end, then offline mode would end, demo mode would also end, Mojang hasn't said anything about offline mode or cracked launchers, Mojang only said; Only how you login to Minecraft will change (other than the cape, 1.16.4 changes, Microsoft account options), and the Legacy Launcher, in-case you are new player, it's the launcher before 2017, It's like the normal launcher, without the new features (e.g. Skins, new announcements) It's still available for download because some computers have some problems with new launcher, it uses the outdated MCUpdate Tumblr blog, which has not been updated due to new launcher replacing it, but in 2021, a post was made about the end of support for legacy launcher, it's because old launcher will not support MS accounts, I don't know exactly why, despite Java supporting it, and because legacy launcher is coming to an end, Windows XP and Windows Vista is also being unsupported in Q2 2021, however despite Mojang says it's gonna be discontinued, it might not be officially confirmed, it might be updated, there should not be an end for Minecraft, even old Classic versions are still alive, you can even host an 24/7 server, Mojang might make a decision about it, I hope so, No one should be serparate from the community, though I didn't heard anyone playing Windows XP and Windows Vista nowadays, old processors support updating to Windows 7, which is the Minimum version for new launcher and other apps. Some people understand wrong and tell the wrong, this spreads through the community, and this causes information corruption, this also causes players to "falsely" hate Mojang for doing something "bad"

Community and Minecraft Updates

Community begged too much for Cave Update in 2020 and 2019, in 2021, the snapshot came out, not everyone liked it, or thinked it wasn't fun as expected, and community blamed Mojang for not making the update for long as usual, well Java isn't a easy coding language, or C++, not everyone understands this. People begged too much for a update, and the snapshot released, not everyone loved it, blamed Mojang for nothing, but they released it a snapshot first, they can't release out of snapshot instantly, at least Mojang released a snapshot, they are not bad, but people doesn't understand this. Community is not fund of updates they waited for, do people think Mojang a first-class fast programmer? No, Mojang workers try their best, but no one is still proud of having a good developer for releasing good updates, they think the game is dying, while it's still growing. Some people needs to empathize Mojang, their job can sometimes be hard, I wish some people understand this.

Staying Safe from Minecraft Hackers/Pirates

The Minecraft Hackers... Most people might know them... The guys that use KillAura, bhop, etc. But, did you know that they can also hack an account? Yes, that's why I made this. Here is how to stay safe. First, you have to know that Mojang or Microsoft support will never ask for your password, username, session logs, You should NEVER enter these to a 3rd party site, the so-called "Mojang Support" can enter your server with a random name, they can also use name-sniping tactic to fake support users' names, and if so-called Mojang Support wants your password, username, etc. Don't enter, leave that site quickly, and did you know that they don't just hack with a password? Yes, when I said session logs, I meant they don't just need your password, they sometimes ask your log file, because, before 1.9, your session ID appeared in a log file, and hackers used the log file to hack your account, however, the session ID is temporary, it changes every login, and after 1.9, session ID no longer appears in the log file. The session ID is used for auto-login in Minecraft Launcher. If you log in from another PC, it changes and logs you out. The method is outdated, and most hackers no longer ask for a log file, but the method still works on 1.8.9, so you should still be careful, but some hackers can see your session ID even without having your log file, and did you know that server owners can see everything, UUID, packets, location, IP, and even session IDs? They can use it for hacking, logging, or even leaking it on websites, if you don't know that the server you played on is safe, then you might be the victim of hackers, or you might already be.

3rd party launchers or clients might be risky, even if they claim that they don't log passwords, you should not always trust them, you also always need to download from official source. Other sources might have malware inside.

TL;DR: Hackers can use methods to hack your account, like themselves claiming that they are from Mojang and ask for your password or a log file. Mojang never asks for a password, and you should always download 3rd party launchers or clients from the official source, don't also play suspicious servers, some people use that tactic too.

Example Images

Please note that these images are not taken from a website/server. I made these.

Fakemojang

An example of a fake Mojang page, asking the user for password and e-mail, to "unlock the account", but instead of unlocking, it's stealing the account itself.

Fakemojang2

Another example of a scam method, the scammer/hacker claims to be a Mojang worker, asking the user for a password and username to unlock the server, but instead of unlocking, it just steals the account, and there is no such thing as server locking/unlocking. It's another method that scammers/hackers can use.

Bedrock vs Java Comparison

NOTE: This is only a comparison between Java and Bedrock, not a opinion war, I'm not criticizing both Mojang and Microsoft, This article is only for educational purposes only, No one insults you because you are a MCPE player, Thank you.

Java Pros:

  • Has sword blocking (in 1.8)
  • Less crashing
  • Easy w-tap
  • Has a proper client setup
  • Unlimited FPS
  • Better Options
  • Changing Resource Packs in multiplayer/singleplayer
  • Faster updating
  • Supports downgrading and updating between versions

Bedrock Pros:

  • Loads resources without downloading and lagging
  • Netherite and other additions with 1.8 pvp
  • More players on servers
  • Allows to run commands pre-1.13, that are useful for a server.
  • Cross-platform (Some servers now have only cross platform with other same devices, like PC Bedrock player can only play with other PC Bedrock players, and mobile players can only play with other Mobile players)
  • Supports gamepad without mods
  • Public Realms
  • Easy bridging
  • Easy modding
  • Chat Filter
  • Featured Servers
  • Easy critical hits
  • Better Redstone
  • Less lag spikes (on mp)
  • Marketplace to buy ranks without going to web
  • Safe mod installing
  • Runs smooth
  • Supports private and group chatting (with Xbox)
  • Easy addon support
  • Supports addon disabling and enabling,

Java Cons:

  • No chat filter
  • Hard modding (Sometimes based on how big is the project)
  • Requires the server texture pack downloaded everytime you login
  • No netherite or other addons with 1.8 pvp without mods
  • Less players on servers in 2021
  • After 1.13, plugins are broken, commands are broken, biomes are broken
  • Has a sword cooldown
  • Entering a server sometimes fails
  • Low FPS when joining
  • Hard bridging
  • Only one platform
  • Hard to get critical hits (in 1.8)
  • Only supports the "Chest" GUI on servers, which sometimes is broken
  • Hard to learn Redstone (pre-1.17)
  • Only supports web to buy ranks, which sometimes has problems.
  • False AC Detection
  • Movement gets broken
  • Options don't save sometimes

Bedrock Cons:

  • Chunks sometimes doesn't load
  • More low FPS on servers, due to custom models.
  • Vulnerable on servers
  • Clients are only on Windows 10 Edition
  • Blocks don't place sometimes
  • Hits sometimes don't register
  • Ender pearl, snowballs are slow without server addons (Some people can see this a pro)
  • Recipe book is not accurate
  • Models decrease FPS when loading
  • Crashing is more common,
  • World corruption on both SP and MP is more common,
  • Less grief protection
  • Sometimes, the menu won't open
  • Featured servers can't use 3rd party addons
  • The Microsoft anti-cheat is broken
  • Inventory gets broken
  • GUI on MCPE also gets broken
  • Logging always and only requires a Microsoft account, which is also broken sometimes.
  • Has more glitches
  • Randomly getting killed by Console
  • No sword blocking on Bedrock PC
  • Ping works differently, ping causes more lag, which is cause of blocks not placing or hits not registering
  • Modding can be easy, but making advanced mods, are not supported and more hard to make.
  • Limited FPS
  • Render Distance is limited
  • Options are inaccurate
  • No downgrading without 3rd party apps or apks, which have risk
  • The chances to have the world unplayable is high
  • Options can't be changed while playing
  • Options get reset everytime game crashes

Result: No winner, there is no very fixed version of Minecraft, every Minecraft version is Minecraft, just Minecraft, People discuss this and people keep saying "Bedrock is broken, Ms is bad" Bedrock is written in C++, since Xbox doesn't support languages other than C, Mojang and Microsoft can't write every version in separate language at once, this will be hard, and no one has one job, you study, eat food, play game, sleep, brush teeth, wash hands, going outside. But Microsoft and Mojang's jobs are harder, you have to code versions of Minecraft everyday, there isn't only two versions, as Xbox and Nintendo Switch doesn't support exact same code. Don't blame anyone.

About the unofficial sources of Mods and Unofficial clients

So one day, you are trying to find a mod for Minecraft, but there is no link for the official source, and you see a link from another shady site, you click on download, insert the mod in "mods" folder, you played like normal, but is it that normal? What about the copyright? You don't know that it is copyrighted, and keep on playing, and there is something happening after it... Well, the unofficial sources steal mods from the owner without permission, and they modify game files with keylogger, track your passwords, steal your account, and it goes worse, I encountered one of those, with a adware, I had to format the computer, because I tried antivirus software, and it made it worse than normal, Don't be like me, I did a mistake and got a lesson, and you ask "where to get secure mods?" the answer is <no link due to adverstiement>, we can't advertise any secure mods here, it will lead to a ban, it is against the rules, just like how the purloiner mods site owner violates the rules of the original mod owner, it's always in the description, they say what to do and not to do, they don't even read it, don't put the mods you downloaded from unofficial source to a modpack, everyone will think you are a scammer, the worse things that are uncountable might happen, and the unofficial (use at your own risk) clients, use at your own risk stands that there is a small chance to get banned, especially the chance gets bigger, if you use a mod that's server-side (e.g. reach hack, timer), as said on above, download from official source of client, there are countless examples of the worse happening after downloading from unofficial source. The hacked clients have the larger risk, they will get you banned, and put malware on your computer, you sometimes might think "It's a false positive, nothing will happen", but it sometimes will be true positive, they can also steal passwords or log files, use these on a private website, and they will finish their daily job, stealing the account, Mojang also stated that "Basically, Mods are okay to distribute; hacked versions or Modded Versions of the Game client or server software are not okay to distribute." Modded versions don't include the versions that adds support for mods, which is okay to use, hacked clients (or just hacks), or so-called utility mods with unfair advantage mods are not okay for the EULA, you might also ask; "What's a hacked client?" A hacked client is a mod that gives you unfair advantage (like More Faster Clicking, Hit from a large distance, Flying, Automatically Hit, Timer) These are not okay to use or distribute, these can lead to malware, ban, but some people don't even listen and continue to use, some people are too brave to get malware and get ban without knowing, but everyone gets a risk automatically, no matter what you use, you still get a risk,

TL;DR: Don't use mods from unofficial source, there are countless examples of the worse happening, through it's not against EULA, it's always risky, You should always download from official source, Don't use hacked clients, they do the similar thing, and Mojang stated in their EULA too, you must know you are violating the EULA, it can even result in your account being locked.

My thoughts on Java Edition Combat Tests, 1.8 PVP coming back?

So Mojang is releasing Combat Test versions since June 2019, It's currently on Phase 1, So what's Combat Test? What will it affect? Additions after 1.9 with 1.8 combat in vanilla Minecraft? End of 1.8.9? Alright, the combat tests can be even an end for unfair advantages, because of Reach changes in tools except for sword (another good change for hoe) hold attack, eating can be canceled by the enemy (another good use for snowballs), tridents are more strong, effect changes, sprint knockback, increased knockback, useless shields, auto shields, op gapples and fast healing, and 64 snowballs... This will not be a big end for 1.8.9, despite it's like 1.8.9, more things have become easy since the changes are pretty overpowered, the good change is stackable drinkable potions, if splash potions were affected, it would be another overpowered additions of Combat tests. The pros are restricted sweeping (only requires the enchantment), no more invulnerability timer (hits now register properly), no more cooldown, editable reach (nbt) These changes are not exactly like 1.8 combat, some of these are things that shouldn't be added, and some of these are worse than 1.9 changes, that is also the reason you can't find Combat Test servers, only Singleplayer maps are made now because if a server existed, you would see; people using tridents for combo, axes for more damage, fewer people eating food (except for gapple), people have more drinkable potions, people always sprinting and hold clicking swords, fewer people use shields, the server's anti-cheat falsely banning people for auto sprint, flying, auto clicker, "unusual" stacks (some outdated anti cheats detect it)

TL;DR: Combat Tests' additions are overpowered, and also helpful, because of these, not that many servers use the Combat Test version.

Do people actually read these?

I wrote too many articles, but I sometimes think "Do people actually read these?" I got some feedback from a few people, but that's only a few, is it only 5 users reading? or is it more? I have been writing in this wiki since November as a unregistered IP user, but I had a fandom account since Feb 25, 2019, but I didn't know how to login to the Minecraft Wiki, that's the reason I wrote with a unregistered account, In December, I logged in with my Fandom account, and my hobby started, I started editing pages more than ever and made a user page that you are currently reading, with 11 articles and a big amount of text, I like editing, It's my new hobby, espically my user page, with educational Minecraft informations and truths like "How to stay safe?" and more, these are usually long, but I write a TLDR in end, sometimes I don't have time so I write it later, while these helpful facts might actually make you calm, know the truth, learn more things, that's my red line, but do people get info from these? do people stay calm? don't be afraid of posting in talk page, you can edit this page, without vandalizing of course, you can correct me If I write something wrong :), don't be afraid, do it (if you can of course)

Did Minecraft came out in 2011 or 2009?

Some sources say Minecraft came out in 2011, some say 2009, the game actually first came out as Classic (Nightly) stage in May 2009, in June 2009, It was made generally available after being private, some versions are considered lost, they are actually private to TigIRC users, and in December 2009, The Indev (in-development) version started, This version added Crafting, Survival mode, Torches, and an experimental 3D entities, which were later removed in Indev, in February 2010, Infdev stage started, this version's red line was infinite worlds, but other additions include Golden Apples, Ladders, Shadows, 3D clouds, Dungeons. In June 2010 Alpha stage started, it added real biomes, fishing, nether, cows, Redstone, cave sounds, an increase of world build size limit, multiplayer, fences, in December 2010, the Beta stage started, it added Pistons, Hunger, Endermen, New logo, Beds, Slabs, Shears, Real food. In November 2011, the game was fully released, though on that date the version was gonna be marked as Beta 1.9 (as seen in pre-releases), it was changed to 1.0.0, the full release of Minecraft, the first version NOT to be marked as Beta, by shortly Minecraft's Classic (Nightly) version was released in 2009, and Minecraft Full Release came out in 2011, some sources actually mean that full release was released in 2011.

TL;DR: Minecraft's Classic Stage started in 2009, Alpha stage in June 2010, the Beta stage started in December 2010, Full Release released in November 2011.

Minecraft in the future

Minecraft has became popular since 2017, despite the game often being hated because it's a kid game, or thought that it's overrated, No, Minecraft isn't overrated, it's played, it's loved by fans, it's enjoyed because of its originality, accessibility, no p2w (on singleplayer), safe to play, no hard achievements, and others, the game has 200 million copies in 2021, and 600 million players as of November 2020 (along with the Bedrock edition and LCE) and Mojang is developing 1.17 right now, since Java is a hard language to learn, it takes a bit long, but remember time is cash, the update you we wanted is coming out in Mid-2021, I think players who quitted the game can even come back like 1.14 update, it didn't even take that long, some people think that Minecraft lost its popularity, No, a reduction didn't happen, it's still updated and played, they lost their popularity because of their thoughts of Minecraft in 2021. Minecraft will have a bright future, Mojang doesn't remove the items and blocks just because someone didn't like it, if Mojang did it, then the community might be sad or angry to Mojang, so that's why they don't remove it. Minecraft is the reason loved because of the additions, trying to remove them will make a reduction on the player count. Minecraft is played by everyone, not just kids. Minecraft can be easily modded, the mods are another reason why the game is loved, Minecraft can be played on PC, notebook, console, phone, or a watch (only in Android watches) That's another reason it has a high player count, it doesn't require an emulator to play on mobile, the game has a Bedrock version, PC and notebook are same, Console has 2 options, LCE or Bedrock Edition.

LCE = Legacy Console Edition

Rumors about Minecraft shutting down.

So a fake news site says that Mojang is shutting down their Minecraft servers, but in reality, only Minecraft Earth is shutting down, not the Minecraft Java or Bedrock, Mojang hasn't said anything about Minecraft Java Edition or Minecraft Bedrock Edition shutting down, but some people believe it, most people even made a video about the fake shutdown news. This is only a false rumor, If it was to shutdown, you would see a message when launching Minecraft, or you would at least see at Minecraft.net, Microsoft might shutdown MSN, but they can't do same thing with the games, Halo 2 wasn't shutdown, it's still playable. The fake news sites are built for pranking, It's comparable to news about UFO, Minecraft is not shutting down anytime, It can be down for maintenance, or being updated, and the top article has a list of discontinued editions, so don't worry, Minecraft is not shutting down, only Minecraft Earth is shutting down.

TL;DR: I think it's not too long, or is it?

Mojang's war against VPNs and Free accounts

So VPNs and Free accounts are the thing Mojang never wants, so they are blocking it, but the block doesn't do the job, the block just blocks some VPN IPs, some are blocked, some aren't blocked, but some paid VPNs aren't 100% blocked by Mojang, since they are paid and not free, Mojang might have to buy the VPN itself, but it's renewed everyday, that's why there aren't 100% blocked, and you may ask; What's VPN? Why people use it? The answer is; VPN is Virtual Private Network, you connect to another network IP, and this makes you change your IP, hostname, etc. And people use this to evade IP bans, and to go anonym, DDOS some unprotected servers, Some server plugins can block this, server checks your hostname and IP to be sure it's not a VPN, if the hostname has a "vpn" in name, then it's blocked, some VPN companies doesn't have "vpn" in hostname to bypass VPN blockers, Free VPNs have "vpn" in their hostname, The risk the free VPNs have is high, as they are easily accessed, the hackers can get you banned on Hypixel as it works like this: If the hackers on the same VPN location gets banned, other same people on the same VPN location would also get banned on Hypixel, and there is a escalation exploit happend in 2019 on free VPNs, and some will infect your PC, leak your IP, etc. and the free accounts; they are accounts you can get for free, It's against EULA, Mojang tries to lock, but not all accounts are blocked, the accounts are also called a "alt", alt is short for alternative, some alts are even sold for less money, some alts require VPN for some servers, there are 3 types of alts, First, NFA (Non Full Access), you can't change the username, password, e-mail, they are blocked by Mojang frequently, if suspicious behaviour happens, or the stolen account owner reports to the Mojang, and second SFA (Semi Full Access) same as NFA, but you can change the username on these accounts, and FFA accounts, they are like a normal Mojang account, Mojang doesn't lock it, you can change everything on the account, you can ask; Are these accounts illegal? The answer is; They aren't illegal, but against Mojang TOS, and; Why Mojang locks these alts? The answer is; It's against TOS, Mojang locks accounts that violate the TOS, and; Why are people distributing alts? The answer is; Some people doesn't have that much money, some countries have inflation, or thinks that alts are best choice instead of that money.

How Mojang authentication works

So Minecraft has a login system for Premium users, for demo users, they are in offline mode, and to the topic, first client enters the e-mail and password, this later would be authenticated to minecraft.net if it's correct, then the user gets put into a temporary session by Mojang Services, this changes every login, so if a client1 is running Minecraft, and client2 logs in, the session changes, client1 will need to restart to join servers, while client2 will join like normal, this happens on servers that don't have offline mode enabled, and trying to log on premium servers with offline mode will always display invalid session, as authentication is disabled on offline mode, the player would still have a session ID in Offline Mode, but does not have a account string, that's why it's in offline mode, and the Demo Mode is only offline mode because you could join servers with the "kick" command and this would also cause the premium account with the "Player" name would also be affected, since Demo mode users don't have a account string, you also don't have a skin in offline mode, skins are also authenticated, and offline mode turns off authentication, and you can ask; Is there a way to block authentication? The answer is; If you want to be in Offline Mode without turning off internet in Official launcher is to add the below text in hosts file:

0.0.0.0 authserver.mojang.com

0.0.0.0 sessionserver.mojang.com

0.0.0.0 https://status.mojang.com/check

0.0.0.0 https://api.mojang.com

(to go back to online mode, remove above text)

This will make you go offline mode, there is another method with launcher_accounts.json, but I do not recommend you to do it, as it is a cracked method, so don't try it, It's against EULA, so don't try it, only try hosts method, as you still need a copy of Minecraft to try offline mode.

Technical changes Mojang and Microsoft should do

This is a list of technical changes Mojang and Microsoft needs to do:

  • Changes to VPN blocking, checking if there is "vpn" or "public-vpn" in hostname, plugins behave like this, this should be included by default in the Minecraft Java Server.
  • Customizable Settings in the server instead of server.json and command line.
  • Automatic Update Checker
  • Automatic DDOS protection
  • Chat filtering in Java
  • Faster GUI on Bedrock
  • Max FPS Slider in Bedrock (Mojang is actually developing it)
  • Support for Gamepad in Java Edition
  • Support for advanced codes in Bedrock Edition
  • Vsync in Bedrock (is still developed like fps slider)
  • Custom world gen and superflat in Bedrock
  • Custom clients in Bedrock This actually exists without any problem, like Java, this can be achieved with editing game code, and supports Microsoft installer (APPX)
  • NBT support for commands in Bedrock
  • Ender Chest NBT support for Java
  • Server authentication system for Bedrock if user is online

Does playing on old versions cause a security risk?

So some people still play on 1.7.10 for PVP and older versions for nostalgia on servers, Well this isn't wrong, but there can be small security problems, since these exploits are patched on new versions, in older versions, these still exist, meaning that; Your server can be stealen by hackers, players' account can be stealen with reverse engineering, loggers that track the player to leak the info of the player, etc. This also applies to 1.8.9, however if you only install secure clients, download mods from official source, not entering Minecraft.net passwords to another site, No skin/cape/forum site will ask your password, they can ask for your UUID and username, since you can't hack a account with UUID, You also need the user's account string, access token and e-mail it's found in users launcher_profiles.json, it is changed every login, meaning if the password of the user changes, you will need a new account string, do people think Mojang doesn't make Minecraft secure, UUID can't be used to hack the user, if it did, Why would websites show the UUID of the player? It would be stupid, and Mojang even thanked these websites. Mojang will never support hacking websites, basically UUID is not the heart of the account, it stores the inventory data, level, etc. of the player, it can't be used for hacking, UUID is not only for players, it's also for everyone, ender dragons, creepers, bats, and more has a UUID. If one thing in launcher_profiles.json doesn't match correctly, then authentication is failed, you will only be in offline mode. This is how it works.

Bugs in Minecraft Wiki and Fandom

Minecraft has bugs, and Minecraft Wiki and Fandom also has, this is the list of bugs:

  • On the user profile of your old fandom name, after clicking user page, you will see a red text "This user "USERNAME" prefers to use the enhanced profile."
  • Sometimes, Minecraft Wiki Page can cause other sites to freeze
  • Sometimes save button will not appear
  • Sometimes saves are not restored
  • "Save your changes" window will not appear on some Fandoms
  • You can't revert back to your old edit if your edit is undoned by another user
  • In snow mode, the Minecraft Dungeons' and Minecraft Earth's wiki's logo will appear only appear as normal "Minecraft" logo with snowy grass block instead of their original logo and text.
  • Sometimes the words will change their places and disappear (like necraft Wikim) if the edit was saved and page froze.

My answer to people that say: Mojang/Microsoft why don't you add Java additions to MCPE?!

Wow, your head is stuck in 2014, we've got many additions since 2015, what are you talking about?

Also Mojang and Microsoft is still developing many versions at once, Dungeons, Xbox, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, they can't reach everything at once, they are not in a fast hurry.

So I got the pro rank in Gamepedia...

In Gamepedia, If you actively edit the wiki for a calendar month (meaning in January you have to wait 30 days, in April, you have to wait 29 days) you'll get the Pro rank, a cool rank that makes you special. I have been editing this wiki for a 3.5 months now, and I got this rank today, and you might say; What's special? This is not better as server rank. Well here is the answer; Well, with the rank you don't see a ad, and you might say; Adblock exists since 2006, and my answer; Gamepedia earns money from ads, they don't even use bad ads, they have a option to report ads, and they don't force you to disable adblock, I also don't say the same, however sometimes this can be useful, since you have to disable adblock on some sites, and then you have to re-enable in the wiki. You don't have to do this everyday with the Pro rank, and you ask; Cool, but I have too many work, I can't edit all day, how to get the Pro rank without editing? The answer is; Not anymore, formerly you could redeem a coupon and get the Pro rank for a few months, this was removed in an unknown date, the page now redirects you to the Help wiki, Now you only have to edit for a month to get a rank, and it was a bad decision to use it, you have to pay real money to get a Pro rank that lasts a few months, while you can edit for a month and get it for free, and you may ask; Is it gonna be removed? The answer is; Probably, as Gamepedia is merging with Fandom, most things are gonna be removed after merge, example the theme is gonna be removed, due to Fandom not supporting it? Does fandom even support anything, This decision was going on for 2 years. Fandom merge will also make some Fandoms archived, and you might ask; What's gonna replace it? The answer is; It might be replaced, but I hope they don't make a wikicoin currency.

Types of Malware

Wow, a article that's not related to Minecraft or Gamepedia? Well, this page is for everything, not just Minecraft, Anyways let's go to the topic, What is Malware? What are types of Malware? Well, the word malware stands for "MALicious softWARE" A malware can harm the PC, slow the PC, or vandalize the PC, The types of Malware are Ransomware, Adware, Rogue, Bitcoin Miner, Worm, Spam, and Trojan, a ransomware is a type of Malware that encrypts/locks the files and asks for money to decrypt, most ransomwares require Bitcoin instead of real money, Nowadays ransomware is not common, many decryptors exist now, and Adware, this type of malware does not harm the PC, instead it displays annoying pop-ups or ads, these can hijack the default webpage, hijack the default browser, install PUP (potentially unwanted programs) The worst part is that the PUP can be a malware and ruin the PC, A bitcoin miner, as all you might know, is a application that slows the PC and makes Bitcoin from it, most malware use Bitcoin miners to only slow down the PC, and make Bitcoin from it, you won't get the bitcoin, the attacker gets the bitcoin, however, making or using a Bitcoin miner is not a good idea, as your ID and password will be seen if the attacker uses a software that shows the details, or the attacker's ID and password gets seen using same method, then the attacker will also be hacked, attacker would get trapped from it's trap, and the Worm, it is a malware that doesn't only hack your PC or phone, it also hacks everyone in your network, it works with software vulnerabilities or attacks, sometimes it will only affect one PC, due to software exploit patches, mainly this type of Worm is used in internet cafe or VPN, and Spam, it's like Adware, but the attacker gets the target more easy, It is used in ads, it's like "Your PC has a malware!" or "Cleaner for Android" This type of malware is commonly used in spam mails, and spam mails work with registration, it will appear after registering to a phishing website, if the user is smart and checks the domain, the user stays secure, this type of Malware is a social engineering malware. You can use a safe adblocking extension to make the Spam disappear, nowadays spam mailing is not common, you can filter a mail as a spam and then if it gets marked as spam too many times, then it shouldn't appear to anyone in normal mail filter, it will appear as spam, and Trojan, this is the malware that ruins your PC, it mainly will set some apps to never launch (commonly antivirus software), it can even remove some devices, spy on your PC or phone, access to your network, they can also appear that it's like a system file, and can also make itself disappear to prevent it from being removed. Some antivirus software can still detect it, sometimes it can make itself reappear even after formatting or system restoring, however it's not impossible to remove it, the attacker may not blacklist a antivirus application, and the antivirus will work as normal and remove it.

Q&A about Malware

Q: I always download from official source of the program, will I always stay safe?

A: There is no 100% guarantee for you to never get hacked, the attacker can also hack the website, do a scan on the program with a antivirus. I do not recommend using web-based antiviruses always, as the hashes can be changed or protected so it never gets detected.

Q: How do I prevent hackers from attacking my computer?

A: Use a password on the PC, most exploits to bypass it was patched by Microsoft, and I didn't heard a way to bypass it in Android or iOS, you can also use BIOS password to prevent viruses from changing the BIOS date, it can trigger your PC not to startup due to a bug.

Q: Do I need to buy a new processor if my PC has a bitcoin miner?

A: No, first remove the Bitcoin Miner with antivirus, sometimes after deleting it with commands, it can come back, and then unplug the computer and then plug it back, then PC should work fine.

Q: I want to be a hacker, I will ruin everyone's PC muhahaha!

A: Have fun hacking (!) Don't cry after getting arrested, you will pay the fine, also did you know that your details (IP, Bitcoin ID and password, etc.) can be seen?

Q: Can I get hacked after playing on a server?

A: Most likely, some server owners can drop a file or get access to your IP and Session ID, be careful.

Minecraft Wiki Secrets

There is a secret dark mode existing in Minecraft Wiki that's not accesible through settings. It is only accessible with URL links (adding "?useskin=hydradark" to the end of URL) , due to a bug, in main page, texts are white, however on other pages it's not. Namespaces are white, and background is dirt with some black pixels. Info boxes are white even without winter mode since Minecraft Wiki does not support Hydra Black Mode.
