Do you want to play Minecraft on Chrome OS or CloudReady? You can! Follow these steps:

Prerequisites

  • A Chromebook or CloudReady device. (Instructions for installing CloudReady can be found here).
  • Access to the Linux Virtual machine built into Chrome OS and CloudReady.
  • Mojang Account and/or Microsoft Account

Instructions

Installing Linux

  1. Open settings.
  2. Click on the “Developers” button to the left.
  3. Turn on Linux (beta).
  4. Follow the instructions.
  5. Run "sudo apt-get update".
  6. Run "sudo apt-get upgrade".
  7. Run "sudo apt-get install default-jdk".
  8. Enable the mouse pointer lock flag "chrome://flags/#exo-pointer-lock".

Official Minecraft Launcher

  1. Go to minecraft.net
  2. Sign in to your Mojang account or Microsoft account.
  3. Hover your cursor over Games.
  4. Click "Minecraft"..
  5. Click "Get Minecraft"..
  6. Click "Computer".
  7. Click "Linux".
  8. Press "Download".
  9. After Downloading Click on the minecraft.deb file.
  10. Click Install.
  11. Wait.
  12. Open the Chrome OS Launcher.
  13. Press the up arrow.
  14. Scroll down until you see your Linux apps.
  15. Click Minecraft launcher.
  16. Sign in to your Mojang account or your Microsoft account.

MultiMC

  1. Go to multimc.org.
  2. Scroll down or Click "Download and install".
  3. Go to Linux and Click on "Download (Ubuntu)".
  4. Click on the file you just downloaded.
  5. Click install.
  6. Wait.
  7. Open MultiMC.
  8. Choose the version of Java you have installed.
  9. Sign in to your Mojang account and/or your Microsoft Account
