Template:Back To make a map you downloaded from the interent playable, follow the instructions. The first steps are different on Linux, Mac and Windows.

- Choose "Open texture pack folder".
- Go one folder up.
- Open the saves folder

Mac
To open the folder with your worlds, type ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/ into Finders adress bar.
Linux
Type ~/.minecraft/saves/ in your filemanagers adress bar or in the console.
Replace a world
You should see 5 folders in the saves directory.
| Minecraft World | Foldername |
|---|---|
| World 1 | world1 |
| World 2 | world2 |
| World 3 | world3 |
| World 4 | world4 |
| World 5 | world5 |
Copy the content of the world you downloaded in an empty world folder.
Place the save in and rename it to be 1-5, just make sure you don't choose a world that already exists. If you already have 5 worlds, you will need to delete or rename one. Pick the one you no longer want, then delete the folder (make sure you delete instead of overwriting it with one you've downloaded otherwise the world may be corrupted because the download didn't completely overwrite the previous world). To keep the world rename it or move it to another folder. Simply follow these steps with it to use it again.
Minecraft should now display the world with number and size, like you created her in minecraft. The world is now playable.
