This tutorial is to give aesthetic advice for your home or building.

Basic things

Floor

I recommend that it shouldn't be grass, that looks bad. It is better to put a wood (beware fire), brick, or stone floor. Smooth stone slabs look good as tiles. Carpets and wool are decorative, but again, keep them away from fire hazards.

Windows

Do not use glass blocks, as you're missing an opportunity to save materials. Use glass panes. If windows are at two blocks above the ground, it is easy to see out them.

Roof

If your roof is 2 blocks high, it's not good because people can't jump. Break the roof and adjust it so that it measures at least 3 blocks high. On the other hand, Endermen will be able to teleport in your house if it's 3 blocks or higher.

Stairs

If you have staircases that require jumping instead of stair blocks, you better change them. It is much easier to walk. If you want long stairs, use slabs.

Things for a great home

If you have multiple rooms, It is better that you make a point at which they connect. as a corridor. Do not do either long or narrow; about 4 blocks width, always leave a light wall, to put windows. If not, is going to be very tight. A tip for windows: instead of making it 1 block long, make it to go from your floor to ceiling, as this will be more like a millionaire house or mansion. If you don't have kitchen, make one, along with a living room, a bedroom and some cellars in separate rooms. Now, worry more about the outside. Instead of a single door, put 2. Then I recommend you do a porch on the side of your house. At the entrance of your home, make sure you have a nice double door, and outside dig in the ground and fill in the space with wood planks, stone etc. In the corners of the block space you did, put fences, (as a column) and on top of them, put the same blocks you put down. Try adding some flower pots with plants or heads for decoration!
