Survival Test
Okay, been dreading this but Survival Test does not deserve to be in the timeline. No? --Scykei 07:55, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
Some reasons why Survival Test is not under a new Development Cycle in Minecraft, but is under Classic:
- It uses the same engine as Creative, having the same lighting technology, map generation.
- Save file can be exported and imported to and from Creative and Survival Test.
- Has the same version number as Creative.
- Even after Survival Test is released, Creative still receives updates, proof here. If it's truly a part of the development cycle, the previous version will not be updated. Let's say if a Beta version is released, the Alpha version will no longer get updates. That old stage should be phased out.
This proves both Game Modes, Creative and Survival, are under Classic. I cannot stress how irritated I get when people mix up the Development Cycles and Game Modes. Survival only refers to the game mode, and not the development stages or anything else. --Scykei 08:33, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- fuck, gotta go through this again, huh?
- look, half life 2, team fortress 2 and portal are on the same engine. they aren't game modes. this is the same.
- end of discussion. lets not turn this into a massive thing again >.> --Kizzycocoa 04:16, 23 November 2010 (CST)
- It might be another milestone but it is NOT a new step in the dev cycle because of point #4. --Scykei 04:27, 23 November 2010 (CST)
