This template is used to mark a page for merging with another page. It is preferable to start a discussion on the talk page of the page when using this template, to prevent potential confusion. If the page already has begun the process, use {{merging}} instead.

Pages with this template on are added to Category:Pending merge.

Usage

{{merge|1|2|reason=Additional reason|discussAnchor=Optional talk section|discussPage=Talk page changer|section=Optional section mode}}

• The 1 parameter set the suggested page to merge.
• The 2 parameter defines a third page to be the merge destination.
• The reason parameter add an additional reason note.
• The section parameter changes the template to a section style. If 2 is specified, it also changes the message to indicate that the section and the page need to be merged into their own page.
• The discussAnchor parameter changes the section name where the "discuss" button will lead on the talk page. It is added to the default talk page or the one set by the parameter below.
• The discussPage parameter changes the talk page where the "discuss" button will lead.
