This template is used to mark pages or sections that are undergoing large edits, and prevent people from making edits as potential edit conflicts can start and lead to general confusion or edit warring, due to their attempts to improve the page trying to do a good faith act. When the process of editing stops, do the following:
- If there is no need to edit more, just remove the template.
- If there is need to edit more, but don't have time or need people who knows more about it, replace it with
{{work in progress}}/{{wip}}. - If there is the page is short when stop editing, replace it with
{{stub}}.
Usage
The template has several main parameters:
sectionis used to specify whether or not you are editing a section.descriptionis used to give an optional description or reason for the major editing session.
The page is automatically added to Category:Pages actively undergoing a major edit unless the nocat parameter is set.
Example
Below is an example of the usage of some of the parameters. They are not required and can be removed. However, it is suggested that you include a time in order for other editors to understand the tag.
