Spawn with chunks?

Do wolves spawn with the chunks (and never spawn on their own) in the Adventure Update? The other animals do this so I was wondering whether it was the same with wolves. TorchicBlaziken 17:36, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

From my experience this seems to be the case, but I have no definitive proof. Wouldn't that render this tutorial mostly useless? Firebastard 00:13, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

spawn glitch?

Anybody else think it's annoying when you update a saved map and a ton of wolves spawn...especially in Hardcore? And what about when the wolves aren't tame..they follow you around EVERYWHERE!!! Caboose –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Pantherguy (Talk|Contribs) 19:23, 25 May 2012‎ (UTC).

Taming Aggro Wolves?

Anybody know if it's possible to tame wolves when they're attacking? I spawned a new game in the middle of a wolf pack, so I quickly penned 2 wolves by digging pit traps. Since mobs are persistant, that would mean, when I eventually have a fully functional base, I'd have a breeding pair I could easily find. While I was punching wood, a third wolf hopped into the hole I was digging through the tree (I mine top down when I can get on top of the tree with nearby hills to prevent this very thing). It walks in my way, gets hurt, and all 4 wolves of the pack go aggro, including the 2 in their pens. Are they still tamable? (If this isn't answered before I get a monster grinder up and running, I'll answer it myself)
