Pointless
This farm/trap is VERY expensive, and the only drop a Wither has is a Nether Star, for beacons. A much more efficiant way of making a beacon is making a tower of dirt up to layer 256. Meeples10 19:46, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
- I know that. But, building a tower of dirt up to the height limit has the same purpose as a beacon. ×Meeples10× 21:27, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
Doesn't work
1. Anvils are capped at 12 hearts of damage. 2. Blue wither skulls can break obsidian. hotdogPi-t--c--Try my quiz! Do not click! 21:55, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
Doesn't Work For Me
I can get the Wither stuck in the bedrock, but after hitting him once he flies above the bedrock where I cannot reach him. Luckily I tested it in creative before using up my Wither Skeleton Skulls. Mcpantsonfire 19:27, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
- The video tutorial includes one key detail which is not mentioned in the article itself - the center bedrock block must have open space above it, and finding one can be rather tricky. -- Quietust, 21:25, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
Flick the Lever
The instructions say to "flick the lever" without previously mentioning a lever being placed. This is lazy writing.
Fail.
This mainly how to KILL the Wither, not FARM it. I demand immediate total rewrite! NOW! –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Crazytobuildmc (talk • contribs) at 16:36, 11 April 2015 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- If you want a rewrite now, then rewrite it, or move the current page to a title more correct for its content. Demanding things is not how we do things here.
- As for the title, killing the wither is needed to farm it, so that is accurate. –KnightMiner t/c 18:04, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah, sorry sorry sorry etc. But mainly (excluding XP Farms), a Mob Farm is designed to spawn, then, at the 'Grinder', automatically kill mobs in order to collect their drops. So, I will rename this page to 'Wither Combat and Farming', however you do that. 82.35.113.249 15:13, 21 April 2015 (UTC) (Crazytobuild)

New method (Highly recommended for MCPE)
Step 1: brew 3 potions of instant health II.
Step 2: put the 3 potions in a cauldron.
Step 3: use a full stack of arrows on the cauldron with the instant health II potions to obtain instant health II tipped arrows.
Step 4: you can now kill him with extreme high damage per shot in the first stage, and a good deal of damage which you would otherwise have to deal with melee can now be dealt with your tipped arrows.
Step 5: You are a happy man since in pocket edition the wither can't be contained at all (unlike the normal java version)
If you still have trouble, below i explain a method to kill the wither without him being able to attack you at all. Please take note that you wont get the achievement if you don to make the killing blow.
This method can also be used to automatically kill the wither. Just make sure you have a dispenser roughly 15-20 blocks above the wither and fill it with your tipped arrows. After spawning the wither you should instantly get behind a wall that is roughly 10 blocks away so he doesn't get any agro on your any of the mobs. This method doesn't give you the achievement though since you need to deal the killing blow yourself. It is most effective if his vision is blocked almost completely by bedrock, otherwise a non-undead creature (spider/bat/enderman) might provoke him and cause him to fly away.
Move to "Tutorials/Defeating the wither"
Title would be more consistent. The Blobs

So, this has been done, no? Why not remove this note now?
