Maybe you should make players permanatly go into Spectator Mode when you die in Hardcore Mode. 173.5.165.138 01:03, 9 May 2014 (UTC) By dpetta10 - a well experienced Minecraft Player.
Error...[]
When a zombie or mob that is 2 blocks tall moves his head in another direction in spectator in its view, the view doesn't change. However it works with the chicken and baby zombie. 110.147.181.83 02:04, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
cant left click mobs.[]
So, whenever I go in spectator mode, I can't left click mobs. If fact, they...just disappear. Can someone help me?--50.179.210.46 13:57, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- When you left click a mob, you're locked to where they are, and your camera is locked to where they're looking. So you'll never see the mob you're spectating, unless you press F5. Was that it? – Sealbudsman (Aaron) (talk) – 14:14, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
No. The mere second I go in spectator mode, all the mobs disappear and I can't click them.--50.179.210.46 14:41, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
- Oh -- Is it fixed in 14w28b? It's reported they fixed a bug for 'Hostile mobs despawn when changed to spectator mode'. – Sealbudsman (Aaron) (talk) – 14:43, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
Can people in spectator mode use chat?[]
???
- They can use chat, just like everyone else. The ability is not restricted by gamemode. --KnightMiner (t|c) 02:11, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
Are Players in Spectator Mode Invisible to Other Players?[]
I feel like "Spectator Mode" gives the connotation of being unseen by non-spectating players, but the wiki page doesn't explicitly say one way or the other (as far as I can tell). Though there is an implication that the player is invisible because of the note under "seeing invisible entities" saying that you can see yourself, I feel that the reference should be more obvious. Also, I can't test this right now without another player. Are you in fact invisible to non-spectators while in spectator mode? If so, should this be added to the wiki? Alex3me0 (talk) 15:38, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, spectators are invisible. I edited the article to make it more clear, as previously it was only implied. –KnightMiner (t·c) 16:02, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks! :) Alex3me0 (talk) 22:05, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
"Spectator Mode" should redirect[]
I'm a noob and don't know how to create redirects. Is there a way to make the search "Spectator Mode" redirect to the "Spectator" page? This would make it consistent with other game mode pages. For future reference, how do I create redirects? Do I create a "Spectator Mode" page and then put some fancy code in there? haha Alex3me0 (talk) 22:05, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- Actually, for it to be even more consistent, this page should be renamed to "Spectator Mode". --ToonLucas22 (talk) 22:07, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- Oh, really? As far as I can tell this page is named "Spectator" as opposed to "Spectator Mode," and pages for the other game modes are "Survival," "Creative," and "Adventure," NOT "Survival Mode," "Creative Mode," and "Adventure Mode." I believe the fact that this page is named "Spectator" is consistent, it's just that there's no redirect. Alex3me0 (talk) 22:16, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- (edit conflict)To make a redirect, simply create the page with
#redirect [[Target]]
(alternatively, there is a link in the edit toolbar under advance which inserts that automatically) - @ToonLucas22: How would that be more consistent? Creative, Survival, and Adventure all don't contain the "mode" part. The only one different is Debug mode, which is not a normal game mode, rather a world type. –KnightMiner (t·c) 22:16, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

- Thanks KnightMiner, I created the redirect :) Alex3me0 (talk) 22:22, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
Is it possible to spectate a bedrock word?[]
For example, could I make a copy of the world and convert it to Java? It would be OK if the result had things missing or not working or I couldn't go back -- the whole point is to take a look around my Bedrock world as if it were a Java world. --76.216.220.191 06:18, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

Mobs dont move while spectating[]
This day while I was spectating the view of a Cow I noticed that the mob didn't move while I were inside it. And when I went in the ocean, there were a rich fauna of corals and seaweed, however no fish, turtles, drowned or squids (octopuzez). Is this cause mobs get affected by us during spectator mode? --78.26.14.32 13:45, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
BY CREATOR OF THIS SECTION:
By move I mean like move from one block to another block. The mobs could "walk" when I werent inside them, but as soon as i entered them, they stopped and could only look around. --78.26.14.32 13:58, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
Are ancient debris blocks invisible to spectators?[]
I've been flying around (in spectator mode) at level 15 in the nether quite a bit, but I can't see any ancient debris blocks. I'm in a soul sand valley biome, if that matters, but I also went to a nether wastes biome and a basalt delta biome. SirDaddicus (talk) 19:42, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
- I finally found one (after searching tens of thousands of square meters). It can only be seen from one side. It's totally invisible from any of the other three sides, or above or below.
- Does this merit some kind of statement on the wiki? SirDaddicus (talk) 19:50, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
- The ancient debris you found must have been exposed. Those Invisible ancient debris is maybe buried underground. TheGreatFall (talk | contribs) (Tagalog translation) 02:33, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know that. In spectator mode, you "fly" through anything, including underground. My search was at level 15, a fact I failed to mention. I flew around for hundreds of meters in every direction.
- What's odd is that there's a "fog" of some kind all over down there. But, in survival in the same volume, it's almost all netherrack (or other blocks). I'm not sure spectator mode is working as it should be, which is why I asked this question. SirDaddicus (talk) 14:49, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
- I think I may have uncovered a bug. I forgot to mention that I'm running the latest snapshot (1.17-rc2) WITH the datapack for Caves & Cliffs part 2.
- I just went into creative mode and hollowed out a whole chunk from level 24 down to level 1, and there was no ancient debris. All of the blocks were solid blocks, not air. So, I think I'm going to investigate this as a possible bug in the datapack, vs. a problem with spectator mode. SirDaddicus (talk) 15:12, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
- OK, I created a brand-new game at the latest release (1.17), totally vanilla. In creative, I immediately built a nether portal and went through. Then I shifted to spectator and flew down to level 15. I flew around quite a bit (maybe a ten thousand square block area) at level 15, but did not see any ancient debris. I also noticed that almost nothing shows up properly. Is this a bug at the latest version(s)? Can someone please confirm whether ancient debris can or cannot be seen in spectator mode? SirDaddicus (talk) 18:00, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
- The ancient debris you found must have been exposed. Those Invisible ancient debris is maybe buried underground. TheGreatFall (talk | contribs) (Tagalog translation) 02:33, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
Can Spectator mode reveal ores underground?[]
I think you should be able to see buried ores underground.
Is Spectator Mode available on Education Edition?[]
In the History section of this page, there is no section for Education Edition. However, there is no banner at the top of the page stating that it is not available for EE. So is the History incomplete, or is there no banner?
