Plural

Shouldn't the page title be "Shear" rather than "Shears"? - DarkAuk 21:38, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Blade shears always come by two. – Scaler (t) 21:48, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Ok, thanks. - DarkAuk 21:53, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Leaf Decay

Wouldn't one need wood to keep the leaf blocks from decaying if they are placed? Khosumet 17:13, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

No, it would probably give you a new block called "topiary block", that would look like the leaves you took from the tree, only they wouldn't decay. Kekilrocks123 19:41, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

(The above is speculation, and we really don't know.) --{ Fishrock123 } (Talk) 20:21, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

I know that. I was just saying that would probably be how it would work. Kekilrocks123 22:37, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

You can place leaf blocks without logs and they won't start disappearing until one is broken. I've made houses out of leaves like this. --Mr. Fist 23:30, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Prediction of the Secret 4th Use

I was thinking that since shears can diffuse TNT and cut away placeable leaf blocks, the fourth use must be to diffuse Creepers. Notch even said that Creepers are like crunchy leaves (http://twitter.com/#!/notch/status/27464490580), so this seems like a great prediction. Edit: Added reference. - DarkAuk 02:41, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Erm. No. This would be ridiculous and spoil the whole point of creepers. Also... I edited your post for the truth. Dementis 20:50, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

I believe the last use is going to be for removing Cobweb (I'm guessing like leaves, they can be cut and destroyed, but this will allow you to obtain them as a placeable block). Someone asked Jeb on Twitter and he gave sort of a "I can't confirm or deny that" type response. Being Cobweb explains the "secret-ness" of it since that's not officially a supported block type yet.
Edit: The tweet in question: [1] --Warlock 20:57, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

How does it ruin the point of creepers? Maybe it could just do it once before it stops working on a regular creeper, or maybe it does no damage to creepers? Keep your mind open. This is Minecraft. As for the cutting cobweb thing, to me it seems logical, but can't we already do that by hand? Or were they changed in the latest update? - DarkAuk 04:03, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

I have no idea, I haven't played with Cobwebs at all. But they are not an "officially implemented feature" so it's very possible they will change before appearing in the game naturally. --Warlock 21:03, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Article doesn't exist?

A link says the article has been moved, but as far as I can tell, the linked article is about branch mining and doesn't even mention shears.

Yeah.. something tells me someone is just advertising their blog. -Doirdyn 15:44, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, somebody was just spamming the article, probably since it's so current. Pale 16:56, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Killing sheep

I just tried it, and I got one single wool by killing. When shaving with the shears I got 4... Anyone could confirm that killing sheep still gives wool (need to change the page then)
