What does this template mean?[]

This java contains content on features that may be included in the next update.

I feel like I had a stroke reading that sentence. Maybe "This article contains content on features that may be included in the next Java Edition update"? --Grid Command Block DigiDuncan! (talk) 21:35, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

Treasure Enchantments enchanted items[]

Even tough it states that treasure enchantments are not possible inside ruined portal chests, i found many including curses, mending and frost walker. Whats the matter with that? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Klusimo (talkcontribs) at 07:32, 16 April 2020 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

In Java Edition, these loot tables do not support treasure enchantments. Keep in mind that curses are not treasure enchantments and may still appear. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 16:33, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
I play in Java, and they DO appear and not rarely. Mending, froat walker everything. I am not idiot dont worry also, curses ARE treasure enchantments techically. Klusimo (talk) 11:27, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Functional portals overwrite them?[]

This needs verification, but I created a portal near a village in a creative world, and when I exited from the Nether again it appeared to spit me out at the site of a ruined portal I didn't recognize, now reconstructed and taller than a standard portal. Details - 20w19a, seed 6048026062208041989, large biomes, stepping into portal facing east/west if that matters, coords 274 / 71 / 166. Entering Nether and re-exiting led to the location of a ruined portal at 637 / 68 / 182. Aepokk (talk) 22:54, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

Tested it out in 1.16 pre-release 1, short answer: no. Happened to set up my nether portal near a village with a ruined portal on the other side of it, so I set up a very basic repeater-dispenser-arrow-fire-tnt situation next to my portal, and went in. After waiting long enough for the trap to go off, I exited the Nether, which created a third new portal nearby, with the ruined portal unchanged. I think it's safe to say ruined portals are actively avoided or simply not chosen as nether exit points for the game. Aepokk (talk) 04:35, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

I just tested it and it does. MattTheBanana (talk) 23:28, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

Giant Portal 2 Render[]

I rendered Giant Portal 2 but the shading is off. What program should I use to render it in? MattTheBanana (talk) 23:26, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

Are ruined portals affected by seed?[]

What parts are, if any?– Unsigned comment added by 108.79.252.75 (talk) at 14:56, 11 January 2021 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

Ruined portals sometimes don't generate a chest[]

OK I went to a ruined portal that is found underwater but I don't see a chest even when going into spectator mode WHAT DOES THAT MEAN 76.64.52.246 20:46, 14 July 2021 (UTC)

It means either that you didn't find the chest that's there, or there really isn't a chest. Unless you provide the edition, version, seed, and coordinate location, your observation cannot be checked. Amatulic (talk) 21:44, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
  • This edition is Java Edition
  • Version is 1.17.1
  • Seed is 7356476471739058836
  • Coordinates is -4240 ~ 320

I don't have Java, so someone else will have to check it out. The best approach is to report it on bugs.mojang.com if you're absolutely certain there is no chest. Amatulic (talk) 19:27, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
