Vanilla and custom recipes[]
in Java Edition 1.12, most of the vanilla crafting recipes were put into json files. In Java Edition 17w48a we finally got the ability to add our own (crafting) recipes to the game using data packs. Currently this page links to the 3 separate pages that have the crafting/smelting/brewing recipes. It is very likely the smelting recipes will be converted to a file format as well (unsure about brewing recipes). So I propose that this page (or the Recipes page, I'm unsure if we should go with the plural or not) should eventually be transformed to be a list of all the vanilla crafting/smelting recipes (brewing recipes as well if they get converted to file format) and the format the recipe files use. A bit like the advancements page: it lists the vanilla advancements and the format they use. --Pepijn (talk) 20:41, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

Splitting json format to account by recipe (serializer) type[]
Recipes have types. Each type has a very different JSON format. We currently have a giant mess that includes information for all recipe types, and just for your information, I am going to split them into different segments. liach (talk) 03:42, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
Recipe is not to guide players into minecraft[]

Recipe on Bedrock[]
Recipe also in Bedrock Edition, but in root of behavior packs. On default, there is no recipe folder in behavior pack, but adding it will work (like adding function folder).

Group tag on recipes[]
how does this work? It says group similar recipes together, but there's also the multiple ingredient key type that should group recipes. Is there a way to set where your recipe will show up in the recipe book? Assuming it's a recipe for an uncraftable item. 152.26.177.39 19:30, 25 April 2019 (UTC)
