Need some info!!

I just created this page, but i have no access to my pc at the moment, im using a chromebook right now. Please add whatever information about this block you can! Trigger hurt 21:05, 18 September 2012 (UTC)

It's not a real block. It's a wool block that can't find its texture. --Moxxy 22:12, 18 September 2012 (UTC)
Maybe not, but it is an interesting one at best Trigger hurt 16:48, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
It at least deserves some recognition on the wool page then, if it cannot have a page of it's own. Trigger hurt 16:49, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

Not just wool

This is any block which doesn't have a proper texture- Jungle wood will do this in texture packs without it, as will Lapis and others. Not just wool. 72.93.203.122 18:23, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

True, but false. This has to do with a data value glitch, not texture pack glitch, it looks for another texture in the terrain.png file, but finds that instead. Yes outdated texture packs have the same problem, because the slot for that block is empty. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Trigger hurt (Talk|Contribs) 18:41, 19 September 2012 (UTC). It doesn't make sense to make an entire page based on a specific "criteria/event". I've cleaned up the page and added the block to the blocks template since this is a "technical" block. It's actually the default/non-textured block that is the "base template" for all other blocks, so I don't think a deletion is actually necessary, although the content could be revised a bit. --M0rphzone 00:07, 20 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Yeah, first attempt at a page, i didn't think my text was very good. Trigger hurt 13:23, 20 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Also, technically this block has a texture. The purple texture is a replacement for just having it blank, because blocks would be invisibly if they were blank.

This isn't really a kind of block

It really isn't a block is it? it's just what blocks look like without a proper texture to access? If so I would think the place for this information is on the texture packs page. A block has specific properties, and a unique data value. I'd also like to point out that most of the statistics listed are inaccurate, as textureless glowstone for example does have a luminance, textureless glass is transparent (lets light through), textureless sand has gravity and so on. True, true, all true. and all i want is to give this glitch some recognition, it is technically not a texture pack glitch, it is just trying to use a texture from an unused slot from terrain.png. Trigger hurt 13:22, 20 September 2012 (UTC)
Um, the fields for the infobox were never changed from the default text, so change them then if they're incorrect. Merging it to the page can work if the actual block data still exists, but just looks like this because of a missing texture/incorrect values. --M0rphzone 00:19, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
Actually, it's a data value of a block that cannot find a texture in terrain.png Trigger hurt 13:52, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

Not a block

The purple default block is actually just a blank texture slot in terrain.png. Locked chests look like this because the original chest textures were replaced with the blank purple slots. Wool 16 now looks like the first stage of nether wart in the inventory. I think it's safe to say that this is not a block. 207.28.147.2 14:07, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

  • Look this has already been stated before, you do not need to add any more input to something already in the talk section. However i will now add this to the block itself. Trigger hurt 15:03, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
