Why this page keeps being marked for deletion[]
Several people have tried to create this update page over a period of time. However, there is no official 1.1.6 update to the game. I'm told by a Chinese editor that the "1.1.6" was seen in an image that was included in the new Marketplace content, but that it doesn't appear on the main menu. This is evidence that there is no official 1.1.6 version of the game. Even more evidence comes from the fact that the editors who have tried to create this page keep citing a changelog that doesn't mention any version number at all.
What happened is that on 17 August 2017 a Marketplace content update was released, in a Chinese-only version (I suppose to address restrictions the Chinese government imposes on certain DLC). Marketplace content used to be built into the game code, in a way, so a change to the Marketplace content used to involve a change to the game code. This is no longer true: Since 1.1.5, Marketplace data is now simply downloaded as data files by the game when it starts up. This makes it possible for Mojang to make frequent Marketplace-content-only updates between game updates. Now that that is possible, I expect to see many more of these updates in the future.
Content-only updates are a new kind of update event for the wiki, since they don't involve any changes to the game itself (and, recently at least, most of the new content isn't even from Mojang). When we realized this, we had to decide whether to include them in the existing version history system or treat them separately. There are at least two problems with including them: First, they aren't actually part of the game from Mojang's point of view (which it is the wiki's duty to represent), and second, our version history system is tied to an official version number, but content-only updates don't have one since there are no game changes involved. For this reason it was recommended on the Admin Noticeboard to document Marketplace content changes on the Marketplace page rather than the version history pages. The Marketplace page has already been updated with the August changes, so this page, if we were to keep it, we merely duplicate what is there.
Personally, I don't see why anyone would want to document Marketplace content on the wiki anyway, any more than we document Java Edition maps and mods or Pocket Edition add-ons. That's all Marketplace content is, after all, and to me it seems like a kind of free advertising being given to third parties, which is inappropriate for the wiki to do. But the controversy isn't settled, so if you feel differently and you're willing to take responsibility for updating the Marketplace page every time a new add-on or mashup comes out, the current state of opinion is that it belongs on the Marketplace page, not in the Minecraft version history. --– Auldrick (talk · contribs) 06:08, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
