I have a picture of the pigmen that I fished out of the minecraft files, however I'm not confident enough to edit the page and put it in - so if somebody could I would be happy. [1] Em0srawk 07:27, 8 November 2010

Planned?
When did Notch say they were planned? JesusChrist666 21:50, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Soon. But probably not this year. D: Rocĸetor talk 08:42, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
i have the feeling pigmen, if they will come into the game at all, may come after the sky dimensions are added, at least it would make sense, because the villages already have npcs and pigman are the opposite of zombie pigmen, so may be used in the sky dimensions. Just my two cents, but only the future can tell how they will be used. --Wally
Pigmen
So, will pigmen venture out of their houses or stay inside them like wimps? --Rocĸetor talk 06:56, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
Friendable?
I would assume it may be possible for pigmen to be allies, Being intelligent like players in SMP, It would make SSP less lonely. And would be awesome to have a large party of pigmen...
Quick, Someone throw this to notch. SAraisXenoQueen 08:50, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Clever AI is hard to make, and suggestions go to the forums. Calinou - talk × contribs » 20:36, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
And that, my friends, is why the development team hired Jon. Leave it to him to make Zombies and Skeletons terrifying again.

Why are there two links to the exact same status on the page? Don't you only need one?

There was a great Reddit post covering NPC speech, the OP suggested pictographs instead of words. It allowed for universal NPC speech without need for translation. Here The NPC speech dilemma suggestion: Pictographs.

A question
Will it be implemented in the game, or will it's files only be in the coding, only to be seen in regular gameplay through a mod? Because personally, this is an interesting mob. - Another n00b 13:16, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
Pigmen Villages
There should be Pigmen Villages and the pigmen should be smarter than a player but is still friendable and they would have huge defences that kills hostile mobs and the buildings would have iron doors, buttons to open the doors, iron walls, and glass panes

I hate it when people just demand what they think should be added. Is starting a sentence with "I think" so bad? Besides you're speculating.--98.111.219.231 17:50, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
No starting with "I think" isn't bad its boring like YOU 98.111.219.231 156.34.161.100 15:44, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
Will probably never be implemented
I honestly don't think pigmen are going to be implemented. Not that we should put them in a not-implemented category or anything but I just think they won't with the new villager mobs. I kinda wish that pigmen replaced villager mobs, because they suit it more--I mean it makes sense, having zombie pigmen in the Nether, which is like Hell, and having normal pigmen in villages. I almost hate the villagers, honestly. I would be perfectly okay with the villagers being replaced with pigmen... *sigh* Electrk 18:36, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
We have Zombie Pigmen in the Nether. We have Endermen in the End. We have Villagers in the Overworld. These three are somewhat intelligent (zombie pigmen with their team attacks, Endermen pick up blocks, Villagers will open and close and open and close doors. If there is a fourth dimension added to the game (Sky Dimension) it would make sense for another intelligent being. So, like Wally above, I believe the Sky Dimension is our best bet for getting them implemented. 76.176.110.143 02:09, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
An interesting Idea...
Now, I was thinking about Pigmen, and what their purpose would be, and I could not think for the life of me where they would be implemented. Certainly not in the Overworld, as it's overloaded. No in the Nether or End. And it wouldn't make since for them to be in the Sky Dimension unless they could fly. So I came up with an entirely new idea. The PORK dimension. Yes. I know, it sounds crazy. BUT. It would certainly be interesting, no? Anyway, this dimension would be filled with villages more common than normal villages, and the biome would always be Plains. These villages would be built of stone bricks, mossy stone bricks, would, cobblestone, etc., and would have intelligent Pigmen in them. They could also have Graveyards, in which there were graves, and underneath, a hostile Zombie Pigman spawner dungeon with tons of food items in the chest, like cooked pork. Don't ridicule me, it's just an idea. And I do realize the AI would be insanely difficult, but with Jon's genious it would be cake. --Apocalyptic Builder 02:32, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
This mob will not be released
Since Notch is working on villager AI very much now, I don't think we'll see pigmen. I propose deleting the page, the same as with fish mob. Xeoxer 12:03, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- Notch isn't working on anything Minecraft-related now; he retired from Minecraft development. It's all being done by Jeb and Jon Kagstrom now. No comment on whether this page should be deleted, though... 「ディノ奴千?!」? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 19:28, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
This page should NOT be deleted. The arguments people give to get pages such as this deleted are truly stupid...Ivyn 00:15, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
Where will they spawn?
Overworld, netherworld, skyworld or enderworld? Maxum 18:01, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
Heading Text
The new header about how pigmen will never be added should be removed. Notch stated once that he would DEFINITELY add normal pigmen if he added zombified ones. Jeb WILL put them in. --Apocalyptic Builder 22:26, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
