Link to known bugs
We should include a link on the main page to the known bugs page so people can report issues easier. That would also let notch know of issues found so they could be worked on. Feverdream
Getting Started link
Suggest link near top of main page to Getting Started page.
- (Someone might want to pretty-up getting-started, too; but it's "close enough" for now -- better than nothing!) Chum 18:53, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- I agree. Maybe right above "Page Index" on the front page. Noting [1] includes a couple other tutorials about getting started in Alpha, but new users could benefit from one clear direction. --JellyfishGreen 18:52, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Possible new headline section
I mainly use the wiki to get detailed new information on recent updates, particularly the seeeecret friday kind.
It would be great if there was a condensed devlog section of the wiki on the front page, with links to detailed pages relevant to each update.
For instance, today's could be something like:
7/16/10 Seeecret Friday Update:
(BLOG POST LINK)
- BUG: Death causes world corruption
- FIX: ??? (He mentioned something)
- Cactii
- Trees improved
- Leaves no longer vanish
- Crafting additions:
-- Boats
...
This could be spoilery, so possibly just the name and date of the update and the blog post could be immediately visible, leaving the details accessible on the patch page.

Main Page links
"Got a Suggestion?" and "Skins" dont go anywhere anymore. Toadbert

Redesign Main Page for the coming year (2011)
Since the site is getting heavily populated just for crafting recipes, I think we need to make the main page more vivid and organized. Like, we need to make the Categories below into one row not into two and try to fit the description under it. Also, I was thinking of starting to organize each page in the Wiki into a category, but that's just me thinking... --Psych 08:10, 6 September 2010 (CDT)
- this is already in the works.--Kizzycocoa 08:17, 6 September 2010 (CDT)
- The Categories are in one row... --ultradude25 07:51, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
- Depends on screen size/resolution. I see them in one row at home, but two rows when I look at the site at work. DannyF1966 13:23, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Programs and Editors
The Map Editing link on the main page seems to overlap content with the Development Resources section on map formats. I've merged all of the useful information from Map Editing into Development Resources. I'd like to see the main page link Map Editing changed and renamed to Programs and Editors. I'd suggest doing it after I've fleshed the page out and added pictures, but the change would be an improvement already. Codewarrior 22:28, 8 September 2010 (CDT)
- Bump. Started adding pictures. Redirected the main page link.
Main Page Logo size
It either needs to be re-sized with wiki code, or replaced with a version that is about 600 pixels wide. The current one breaks the width of the page and doesn't fit well with the text box below it. :)
Here is the re-sized version I was going to upload:

- Just wanted to add, that I am aware of it working when the browser window is stretched out, but this width is not a typical site width for content, so for a majority of users this is not going to work as is, and those users will be presented with a messy site at first. - Benjamuffin 11:23, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed, at XGA (1024x768) the logo is simply too big. I don't normally use that resolution (I resized my browser to go to it), but it's a common-enough resolution that I recommend the wiki adopt it as kind of a 'minimum practical resolution,' something I've found useful at other wikis in terms of layouts. Basically that means that any page should be readable & unbroken at that resolution. SVGA is long gone, but XGA still has a sizable population in general (10-15% at the last numbers I've seen quoted). --Lordebon 12:29, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
Wiki Rules link
Just a head's up to the admins, the link to the rules on the main page is going to a deleted page, rather than Wiki Rules. The Navbar link is good though. --Lordebon 18:46, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
Patch History
I think the Patch History page should be linked to the main page, it's usually very useful to most people to see how the game has progressed and if there has been an update as of late. --KaiserTom 21:14, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- I agree. I'm tired of having to type "Patch history" into the search bar every time I want to check it. Linking it would make my life, and probably a lot of other people's lives, much easier. --XANA520 20:34, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Halloween themed picture?
Created by me in a couple minutes, [2] Demonicpenguin.
- I'd like to see more than just this. a full blown stylesheet with a bloodied logo. I could potentially create the stylesheet. I actually have yet to receive a master stylesheet yet.--Kizzycocoa 14:39, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
Well this is just a creative idea maybe to spark other ideas. I don't plan on working on it more, feel free to though. Demonicpenguin
Maybe a GIF that flashes a scary picture then goes back to the current picture? :D PurpleKiwi 17:53, 17 October 2010 (CDT)
Link to Patch History
- It seems like there really ought to be a link to Patch history on the Main Page. There's plenty of space for more links in the blue box at the bottom, and it would make it much easier to find. I didn't know, so I spent several minutes searching variations of 'game updates' and 'change log' until it finally came up. For a game that previously received weekly updates, this seems like an important enough page to receive a link on the Main Page.
