Move/Delete

Why was this "game" made?

M.jar

It's probably stored in the temporary internet data, but it's embedded in the web page so it's not too hard to get it. Easiest way is to save the web page (as a complete page) and look in the "Minecraft 4k_files" folder in the same place you saved the page. You can't run the .jar by itself though. The map

You can see in the trivia section:

• The map is 64*64*64 blocks

and then:

• the map is infinite

It's also got another contradiction: "The world is the same every time; it is not randomly generated like normal Minecraft." and "The blocks' placement in Minecraft 4k is mostly random." Thought i should point it out 153.107.33.155 23:51, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

This is supposed to mean that the location of the blocks are random (i.e. random types of blocks are located next to each other). This doesn't mean that it's randomly generated. If it's randomly generated, that means that every single time a new world is created, the location of the blocks will not be the same (i.e. they will be randomly placed) in contrast to Minecraft 4K, which generates the same world every time (the blocks look like they are placed randomly, and not in the sense of real-time generation, but as a planned world generation of the same random arrangement of blocks every single time.) Haha! Why does it say "It's the same world each time, I.E: It's not a new world each time". Isn't that pretty obvious? And how is it "I.E" if theres only one example anyway? Unable to be Played

I just noticed that you can't play Minecraft 4k anymore. It redirects you to the Mojang website. Should that be added to the page? captainsid2001 (a.k.a. freeman2001) 21:58, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Your download would have to be officially endorsed by mojang for us to add it, otherwise there is no guarantee the file can be trusted.

The problem is not so much it being official, but mojang saying you can distribute their files, as they are are very much against unauthorized distribution of the minecraft file and code. (refer to the "do not distrubute" in the eula, see also rule #1 and Talk:Minecraft 2.0)

You can try tweeting your link to a mojang employee to see if they approve you distributing it, if so, you can link that tweet here and the link can be added. –KnightMiner ^t/_c 14:46, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

But this isn't Minecraft it's Minecraft 4k. The files were free to download from the servers and everything. Other people give away the file some even modded it. Mojang most likely doesn't care about Minecraft 4k. Jackboog21 (talk) 15:55, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

It does say "you must not distribute anything we've made". Minecraft is free to download from the servers and everything. Mods usually only give away the changed files, and them doing it does not make it right. Whether Mojang cares is out of the question, the EULA states against distributing their files, so we will not do that. –KnightMiner ^t/_c 16:31, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

The EULA only applies to Minecraft. Minecraft 4K however doesn't even use code from Minecraft. It also doesn't come with the source code. It's the public version to a free game created years ago for a contest and removed from the site. The only things the games have in common is Notch and both being sandbox games. The terms apply to everything Mojang has produced; see here. If the source code is included or not, or if it's free to play, or if it's still officially available, are all irrelevant. If you want to redistribute it, get a verifiable statement (on Twitter or whatnot) from someone at Mojang saying it's okay to do so. Even then, I'm reluctant to have links to MediaFire or other filesharing sites because there's no way to verify that it's safe, or that it hasn't been modified in any way. Like the Minecraft 2.0 links, I'll tolerate it as long as someone at Mojang has endorsed that particular link. -- Orthotope^talk 00:42, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
