Pronounciation

How do you pronounce his last name? Is it like the English word "Person" or something more like "Pierce-son?" Or something completely different?

I would say it like Per Son --Haxelnut 06:28, 27 August 2010 (PDT)

It's a bit like the English word "person", but imagine a British accent. You know how final r's are dropped? Implement this on the first syllable. The e, however, sounds like the e in "bed", rather than the usual sound you get in that way. As for the second syllable, it's like an sh sound but the tongue is curled up a bit, like a stereotypical Russian/Hindi accent, or a sound you may hear a bit in Swedish if you're familiar with it. The o is like the sound you get for o's in English, but it's not a diphthong. Imagine saying "oh" but cut short halfway through the syllable. I know, lengthy description, but I'm very knowledgeable in linguistics and that's the best I can do without throwing IPA up. xD If you still didn't get it, check out this audio clip I found on Google. - JWhitt 07:29, 5 September 2010 (CDT)
As I wrote in the page itself, it's "pair-son" or "pear-son", as described by Notch himself. Citation inline in the page. --meioziz 16:47, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

At last!

Finally, a proper page about Notch on this wiki. Can I suggest we delete or archive the current talk page, as it is now all out of date and irrelevant? --DannyF1966 14:38, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

For the sake of the community and how they like jokes, would it be feasible/practical to have a sub-page of Notch for the joke-related info? --JonTheMon 15:24, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
I think, this time, maybe not. after the mass-spam, it seems unlikely. however, you can archive a version in your Userspace. I have only archived Notch Time, as the rest seemed like rubbish. --Kizzycocoa 15:26, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
I would like to vote for Notch time staying (or on a separate page), as that is still useful (and not fake) information about dates promised by Notch, and the date it actually occurred. The VDC keeps the Valve time article and they don't like nonsense pages, so I think it is still appropriate for the wiki. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 15:38, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
I agree. I find it funny, but still semi-serious.--Kizzycocoa 16:02, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
I want a sub page for the facts about Notch from before. I love the useless jokes!--Reed501 22:41, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

No*somanyos*!!!!!

I want the jokes back.

Pretty pointless... --YaYaBinksMinecraft 19:11, 4 January 2011

Xvox's edits

Should we allow jokes on the Notch page? I'm sure this is a violation of Wiki Rule #7 AND #19. Drenay 14:50, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

HEEEELLLLLLPPPPP--Xvox 01:35, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

No. If you want to make childish jokes, do it in your namespace. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 01:52, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
We used to have this page full of jokes and it was horrible. It took me about an hour or two to rewrite the entire page and I will not let that effort go to waste.--Quatroking - MCWiki Administrator 14:10, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Well, dear Quatroking, just because YOU edited a page doesn't make it better. You should think about the wiki's benefits, and not how hard YOU worked to do something. That was a great section that everyone enjoyed besides you and a small minority. You should have at least gave us the option to VOTE whether or not we want it to be removed. The least you can do now is to give us a special page for little jokes and giggles. Yes. I KNOW this is the Minepedia and not the Mine-jokebook, but having that section removed just because YOU thought it's useless only proves that YOU are an DOUCHE.
