Great april fools joke
Is it real or not...? Domain name seems to be trust-able. (http://www.minecraft.net/ is good, right?) Locked chests in-game... seems a bit fake. Germz 18:35, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
Yes, they exist. but likey an april fools joke as your title points out. However, this does arise the question of what will happen after april fools day, if they are removed, then the maps that have them will have an item with block data 95, with no corrosponding code, which in normal cases causes a crash instantly Raiu tree 18:41, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- Notch could just do an update fixing this. Although I hope for soething more original :D Deepdata 23:02, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- I've used an NBT editor to create these chests in my inventory and they behave exactly as described, so there's no reason to delete this page, except as an anti April's Fool's spoiling action. --Barracuda 18:44, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
...I love Notch right now. Germz 18:48, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
Where are these found? --Technoman7 18:51, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
Looking at random things on youtube (like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGBzBhE6Fwg), pretty much randomly. Germz 18:55, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
This just in: Going to the store and filling your cart with 10000$ or more worth of items, gives you a seizure. (Makes the shop flash in random colors) Germz 19:00, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
The "raptorize" script references the Konami code:
http://www.minecraft.net/img/loot/jquery.raptorize.1.0.js
//Determine Entrance
if(options.enterOn == 'timer') {
setTimeout(init, options.delayTime);
} else if(options.enterOn == 'click') {
_this.bind('click', function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
if(!locked) {
init();
}
})
} else if(options.enterOn == 'konami-code'){
var kkeys = [], konami = "38,38,40,40,37,39,37,39,66,65";
$(window).bind("keydown.raptorz", function(e){
kkeys.push( e.keyCode );
if ( kkeys.toString().indexOf( konami ) >= 0 ) {
init();
$(window).unbind('keydown.raptorz');
}
}, true);
I haven't found a way to trigger this, and it seems like it can't be triggered, and if triggered, it would do the same thing as clicking the button (the init() code)...--Ha3 19:32, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
It's triggered by clicking proceed to checkout. It activates a screamer with that little raptor. CowPan 20:43, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- I think he meant an alternate way to activate the script, something with the konami code. Germz 21:04, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- How do you craft it? Drenay 22:11, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- What, the locked chest? You don't, it's generated randomly on the map. Germz 15:26, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
Spawning
Do these things spawn naturally or can they only be placed by server Ops? --Mr. Fist 01:58, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell they are naturally spawned, like pumpkins, but not in groups and probably more rare. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 02:38, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
They are useful!
You can build your first-night-shelter around one, so you don’t even have to create/find coal your first night. ‒ Flying sheep 12:50, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
Underground chest
I found a chest underground. Who knows, maybe it might spawn in the Nether? --Dr. Weir 14:37, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
Weird spawnings?
Well i found one in the border of a desert and forest, then i saw a tree glowing. i investigated, and saw a chest on the tree. creepy.
Key
User:Platitudinous Should a different page be made for the Supply Crate Key? 2:36 ET, April 2 2011 (lol, what's UTC)
- What key? –ultradude25 (T|C) at 23:00, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- Lul fail. Thanks, Rocĸetor talk - Edit constructively!! 10:01, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- I see some of us don't understand a certain "element" of the store.. Ordona 17:35, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- User:Platitudinous So is that a yes?
- Yeah totally, we'll just make a page on something that doesn't exist, sure. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 00:59, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- Pew446: I don't think we should have a separate page for the key. It's not an item you can get in game...
All I can say is: Mods. That can get the key in-game and unlock the chest for all of it's mysterious secrets! Plus, if the key(s) are in the store and somehow able to be purchased, than that means that it COULD be an obtainable item in game. Who knows, though? -Evau1, T.S. 21:04, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
I don't feel I should edit the page, but there is a minor discrepancy...
While the April 2nd update to the page did add a floating banner which usually blocks the checkout button, one can still click it by using the tab key to switch the active button and press enter on the keyboard.
It can also be clicked if you scroll around so you can click it when the thing isn't in the way, but it's harder then just using Tab and Enter.--YX33A 00:00, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
1.4_01 Removal
1.4_01's changelog "Removed the April fools joke" so do chests not spawn naturally or is the message just go away? I went on my server and tested real quick, I can still spawn 95. When placed, it is still a glowing chest but can not be interacted with. Pathogen-David 08:46, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- Probably to prevent glitches/crashed with player-placed chests. The one I placed on a server is just a glowing chest that if you left click it will disappear and respawn, and no right click option. Ordona 22:01, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
Re-addition?
If the Steve Co. Supply Crate is re-added into Minecraft, what new features do you think it could have or that you would like to be added [Crafting Pattern, Removal without TNT, etc.] ? Pressthebutton 18:06, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
Fail
This should be on "Removed" category instead of "Unused" because Locked Chests have actually been in the game for a short time. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.112.57.71 (Talk|Contribs) 14:55, 7 March 2012. Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- 'Unused' means that coding for the entity exists, but it never normally appears in-game. 'Removed' is for things that have been taken out entirely. You can edit a map to make a Locked Chest, but there is no way to create a Human. -- Orthotope 20:49, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
In an effort to not sound like a know-it-all, chests CAN be re-added, just uncomment the l ones of code. If they're commented. A comment in Java looks like this:
//comment
OR
/* comment comment comment */
And plus, your saying the wiki is a fail? Says the one who didn't sign a post. Derp. -Evau1, T.S. 21:10, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Real fail now
Yea it looks retarded now. How about just use the old texture and reference the removal/replacement? - Asterick6 (talk) 06:58, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
Ok, I've reverted them. - Asterick6 (talk) 01:18, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
They should be added every April Fools as a come-back. ChilledEnderman 06:34, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
Texture changed again
The Beacon texture made the texture change again. TorchicBlaziken 21:02, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- I don't see any differences. It's still the emerald block at the top and bottom and the pink placeholder at the sides. --☺ Sven ? ! 21:41, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
Now it looks like Emerald Block (Top,Bottom), Purple unused block (Front), Redstone block the leftover sides Zigzagar 17:08, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
dinosour in gallary?
why'd you put a dinosour in the gallary?

- If you read the Trivia, you'll see why:
- "Clicking on the proceed to checkout button triggers a screamer in which a Velociraptor from the movie Jurassic Park will growl loudly and fly across the screen."

Locked chest is NOT removed.
The locked chest still exist because you can get in 13w03a. But the block had a new texture. It contains the words "missing texture".82.243.255.21 17:18, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
