Is this a real bug?

I just wanted to know if this is actualy a real bug. --Gorast4575 22:41, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

"Costs over 4 Billion Microsoft Points."

Technically, that wouldn't be a bug. Also, The game also isn't 4 Billion MP. It's 1,600 MP, the advertised and revealed price. I've removed it from the bug list. --Pokeneon7 12:38, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for the clarity. --63.149.104.43 23:54, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

Same for "Split-screen is only working when using HDTV + HDMI or component cable. Possibly not a bug but should definitely be fixed. "-part Omitting splitscreen from SDTVs was a design choice, not a bug. The latter part is an opinion/redundant. Shouldn't all bugs be definitely fixed? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 78.27.117.88 (Talk) 18:36, 12 May 2012‎ (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~ Stop this Herobrine is watching all.

THEY ARE NOT BUGS!

It seems like a lot of people think that things like fences not connecting to blocks and clouds being below sky limit are bugs, but they are not! Things like that WERE like that back in 1.6! Don't add bugs if they aren't actually bugs! –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Microbat (Talk|Contribs) 12:34, 20 November 2010 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Bed monsters?

So I am in a bed away from any walls in a well lit and closed off area and every time I get into bed a zombie or skeleton swans in my face. Every time. No split screen. Why does it say only in split screen?99.153.177.139 21:25, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Probebley no one else has had this hapen befor. So I would suggest you contribute to the bug in parentheses. --Gorast4575 03:30, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
Happened all the time until 1.0, its not a bug. Its a feature... Ivyn 07:23, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

different person here hi.... it happens to me all the time.... with the same conditions –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 96.252.155.18 (Talk) 23:56, 1 June 2012‎ (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Maybe Mojang put it in there to indicated you were sleeping and having a nightmare. MinecraftForever

It was a bug in the earlier versions i've got a bed 9 blocks from any outside contact and it happens to me, you just have to move your bed farther away underground (check for caves) or aboveground.

I'v had this happen to me several times, and it has happened to my friends in multiplayer.99.6.81.79 00:57, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

Floating Torch

Not entirely what to call this but this is not the first time its happened.

100+ times i have seen this but this is the first time i really was thinking about submitting this floating torch. My friend placed the torch on the wall opposite of where you see it. The torch is seen on my end in mid air. This happened in an online game. His host with strong net connection. My connection is about half decent rarely lags.

I just tried to post an image and the site is not letting me past the cat photo stuff. Here is a broken link cause of this issue. i46(dot)tinypic(dot)com/359xxqb.jpg

Bugs

Some bugs on the extra/no water source and the buckets that do not return from crafting a cake I agree with, but the others are unnoticeable. --HMarrowIV {Talk} 20:45, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

hi when i place a torch it does not give light but it gives darkness 3x4 blocks and around theres light but no torch

One 1.0 feature?

How long before we get some real updates?

I want to see the fully updated version of minecraft on my xbox. How long until we get there?74.112.57.173 07:33, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

most likely 3-6 months2.218.33.254 12:29, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
One year is more like it. This is only do to the PC getting an update ever few weeks or so still. Each update takes around 2 months to re-code so that the 360 can use it. Minecraft on the PC is a Java based game while the 360 is C++/C# (meaning Java won't work on it). --Ichi (Talk) 03:10, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

4J are most likely going to add 1.8 and 1.9 as the same update since at the moment they are seeing what 1.9 features to the next update then after that update they are skipping to 1.2.3 so like i said it'll most likely be 4-6 months94.93.4.42 13:25, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Spawning above nether instead of on ground?

I got mc for xbox about a week ago. When I constructed a nether portal, I was teleported ABOVE the nether way up high past any jumping point. I looked up this bug(it was concidered one) and it was fixed in june. Any ideas?

Not Beta

Although the game actually corresponds to PC beta versions, it is not Beta. I will soon make the change. I just wrote this so you know why ^.^ SwissTHX11384EB 21:00, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

1.1 or 1.0.1

Ok, the latest update was really bug fixes and a few minor features, in my opinion, this shold be called 1.0.1 instead of 1.1, since saying 1.1 is considering it a major update.74.102.3.209 19:21, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Pistons/Skins and Shears

This version was updated today, I'd like to think official Wiki would be first to get this down. Sadly there was nothing. I could help list some of the updates, I have put the most noticeable below:

  • Shears
  • Pistons and Sticky Pistons
  • Choice of the 8 default skins through menu

I'd hope to see this page updated with new information regarding the update very soon. --Dayzy 08:18, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

herobrine?

is this a joke or something in the new features for the 1.7 update it says 'removed herobrine' can anyone tell me if a user just made it up or did the developers add the thing to features(the in game bit under whats new) as a joke2.221.29.14 15:19, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

This is an old joke, look up herobrine if you dont get it, if you look back at some of the old PC logs, you will see that removed herobrine is in a lot of them--blazingkin 15:51, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
i know about that is just i thought someone was putting on the page i didn't know it was in the patch notes until a hour after posting this because i was in a game2.221.29.14 19:11, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Ok, I was just wondering if someone could add a Notable Bugs add-on to the update because there is a few bugs I want to put down. Thank you! --30joe32 18:44, 15 July 2012

First 1.9 1.0 1.1 and 1.2-1.2.2 will not be added.Second the updates for xbox 360 edition are as follows 1.6.6(starting version)1.7.3(current version) 1.8.3(adventure update adding most of the current features of minecraft)1.2.3.after this I guess 1.3 and then it'll most likely get updated the same as the pc version.Hopefully this clears anything up.90.198.249.120 12:09, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

herobrine?

Okay I have 17 dogs (a lot I know) so no animals but squid and other mobs spawn. But i've seen things walk around on land while im on peaceful bulding things. 30joe32 18:47, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

you are seeing things like sheep they can still respawn you know they also despawn it isn't till 1.8 that they stop doing that and they can still spawn if they are a chunk away from your dogs and.also why don't you go and see what it is2.223.122.167 21:54, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

But I was not even 10 blocks away from my wolfs and the figure was 2 blocks high and still, I was on peaceful mode and in my world and i've been about 400 blocks away from my dogs and yet no mobs. Sometimes I still see the figure and when I see what it is its gone and I play on offline mode. If you have a idea of what it is please tell me what it is or if you have had any encounters with this "figure" thank you! 30joe32 21:50, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

You are either seeing/imagining things, or you are lying (regardless of whether it's intentional). Herobrine is not and never was real and has been systematically debunked by the community and its existence categorically denied by Notch and other Mojangstas (aside from occasional joke references and cameos on official media). In addition, you're the only person reporting this in the Xbox edition; if 4J Studios had snuck it in as an easter egg, we'd've been getting inundated with reports of Herobrine sightings on the Xbox, both here and on the forum, for months now. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 06:22, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

Im not lying, but I might be seeing things, or it realy is hi- oh no, he's looking throght my window,AHHHHH! But realy, I have seen things walk around eg: i've seen things walk around on land while im making a floating mob trap. In fact my little brother has even seen things. And I know he is fake and I still dont belive he is real even after seeing these figures walking around. I still go on playing in my world but luckly I havent seen 2×2 tunnels! Thank you if you have ideas of what it is please tell me! 30joe32 15:13, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

it may be a bug with your world were zombies randomly spawn and despawn a second later that would explain why you may believe it is herobrine since they are the same size and wear the same clothes. another explanation is a duplicate of your character appears from a bug and walks for a second in a different place in the same direction as you're going so if you see it again check what way it is walking compared to you if it is the same way it is a bugged you if it isn't it is a bugged zombie2.223.33.198 00:14, 14 September 2012 (UTC)

The 360 version does have issues with hostile mobs occasionally spawning (usually due to spawner blocks) but should immediately despawn once you are within a certain range. Also for whatever reason, slimes spawn on peaceful, but they still follow their goofy requirements and algorithms. Holloway 18:55, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

View Change Control Scheme

Thumbsticks used for view change is an absolute failure of judgement. Everywhere you look players are weary of accidentally pressing in the thumbstick and dying because the camera flips around on them. If anything the back key would be the wisest configuration.

i do believe it can be changed to a different button but i'm not sure2.223.33.198 00:09, 14 September 2012 (UTC)

Updates

Hi, very new to this wiki so please take in effect my lack of knowledge. So ive been playing the newest Minecraft on 360 as of 10/25/12. and when i build something i usually draw it out and put a lot of detail into it. my newest project took me a couple hours to draw out, and then when going onto minecraft i learned that i cannot go anywhere near enough to the height that i need. now when doing some research i learned that the pc version can go to some height of 250 or so. now is this from the ground level up, or is this underground to the top? and will they add this to the 360 eventually? BASICALLY will i ever be able to build something that is 330 blocks high in the later updates? ive done a lot of math and it is scale size to the characters in minecraft. (btw i dont mind digging in order for it to fit) DrMoseley 21:36, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

See Altitude. Basically, in the PC version, the world is 256 blocks high from bottom to top. In practice, though, there are five layers at the bottom that you can't practically build in, since bedrock is generated in them (and since nothing can destroy bedrock, there's no way to clear it to make space for other stuff), and the layer at the very top of the world is also off-limits to building to prevent a wide assortment of bugs related to lighting, multi-block objects (e.g. doors), etc. I don't know if the Xbox version uses the current 256-block height, or if it still has the older 128-block height, but currently not even the PC version allows for building structures any where near 330 blocks in height. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:58, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

Is there any version numbers anymore?

I'm not talking about PC equivalent numbers, but actual version numbers. It seems that I cannot find any mention of version numbers since TU7. I'm pretty sure everyone's been logically guessing numbers by incrementing (1.3 -> 1.4) and labeling bug fix updates with a .1. I asked both @4JStudios and @4JSteve on Twitter about whether or not they even have a version number system anymore and are they just sticking to the TU# labels, but no answer yet. Is there anything I'm missing here? PC equivalents, on the other hand, seem to be too fuzzy now that they're adding features across a large spectrum of PC versions. TNT on TU9

Ok I have to say I'm wondering because previously before TU9 I made a cannon, but it didn't work. I tried it again on the game with TU9, and it worked. Is this added on TU9 of on an update before, that I didn't test it? Zeeman 22:25, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
