Launcher Version

Is there a place for update history to the PC Minecraft launcher? If not there should be. Firebastard 19:25, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

There is, at Launcher#History. I think it should be on this page too because it is version history TheWombatGuru 21:00, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Parallax

Parallax was added in 1.6. When You move your Head, blocks closer will move differently then further away. 71.70.205.6 19:35, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Classic Version History Vanished

Classic version history is gone. Can someone bring it back? 24.68.114.41 14:24, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

New versions

New version on the launcher is 1.6.4 (date 19.9.2013)even though it doesn't say it. Once in the game's menu screen it says at bottom left corner 1.6.4. Dinnerbone mentioned it's has just minor changes, but it is a official update, should it b mentioned on the page? mention1 mention2 SOEMONE GO UPDAET IT NAU! :)--88.192.0.10 08:48, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Yes it does need to be updated, just give it some time. Numbermaniac (talk) 08:52, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Horse Sprinting

Should probably be added under "Mobs" in the 1.7.2 changes. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 184.56.193.49 (talkcontribs) 11:06, 26 October 2013 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

This myth has already been busted by Xisuma: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqOyGRDUS3c. You can press the sprint key which makes the screen distortion but doesn't affect the horse speed at all. 93.72.181.248 18:48, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

1.7.2 Fog and rendering distance

This: Fog ◾Removed the thin fog around the player ◾Fog is only at the edge of the visible chunks now

It's just me or does the world looks much less realistic because of no "fog" at all? I don't mean the one caused by render distance itself but the fact that at increasingly larger distances there was a "far" effect like in reality when you look at very distant objects and they seem more white, less colorful in a sense. Is there an option or a mod to bring this back? Feature or not it's very noticeable in large maps with 10+ render distance just looking at large buildings or mountains (vs 1.6 and before).

Also is render distance itself hindered? At 16 you should see at over 256 blocks but it seems more like half, especially moving the slider from 10 to 16 doesn't change at all the loaded world (easily noticeable in a super flat map while flying).

1.7 Timing

Is the game time running fast for anyone else? I have confirmations it is running fast for 4 other people. I looked in the change log and it dosen't say anything about timing changes. Is this just me and my friends, or everyone? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 50.53.127.101 (talk) 01:51, 15 November 2013 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

My villagers seem to be moving faster since 1.7, but nothing else has sped up. KnightMiner (talk) 15:50, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

Ocelot colors

Now, I only come here for reading, but I noticed something... I'm pretty sure Ocelots tamed with a the new fish are always a specific color:

  • Raw fish: Random
  • Pufferfish: Orange
  • Clownfish: Black
  • Raw Salmon: Black and White

I think I saw something like this on the forums. Maybe this should be mentioned on the page...

This is interesting... we could add this with a little more testing... -- t numbermaniac c 20:33, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

HELP!

How do I update my launcher to play 1.7.4???

--192.168.98.92 07:20, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

If you are using the newest launcher it should do it automatically, though you may need to restart it. If you are not using the newest launcher, it can be downloaded from minecraft.net.
KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 14:11, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

I did all of that but it didn't work! :(

Is your porfile set to "Use Latest Version"? --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 15:15, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

Can * please add the version 1.7.6? Please--59.148.112.6 11:14, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

There is no 1.7.6 version --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 14:56, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

Advanced OpenGL option in "Video Settings" was removed

No, it wasn’t 78.54.79.47 21:21, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

Something about it was certainly changed: on my computer, it's there in 1.7.2, but not in 1.7.3 or 1.7.4 . It's possible it only shows up when the graphics card supports it. -- Orthotopetalk 22:27, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

plz update - version is 1.7.9

109.186.63.64 14:09, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

I added a link to 1.7.9, but until template:version is updated, the title cannot change without losing the anchor. --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 14:44, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

What you do with the version history?

Revert back tyhe verrsion history to the OLD LAYOUT ITS VERY CONFUSE!!!!

I have no idea why you would start to put each update (from 1.7.4) on a separate page, I don't want to have to click through multiple pages to see different versions, I'd rather just be able to scroll up and down. The content on the pages is quite short as well, compared to a big update like 1.7.2, which makes the reasons behind putting these on separate pages fairly weak. format the 1.7.x pages for dual use

Wondering. Would it be possible to format pages 1.7.4 - 1.7.10 in such a way that they could be transcluded here, AND stand alone as good looking pages?

Create a Version_history/1.7

What about moving all the 1.7 stuff from here to a new Version_history/1.7, transclude it here ... and while we're at it, making a practice of using Version_history/1.x pages at the very start of the release, and just transcluding them here?

Inconsistant choice of versions for 1.7

For some reason 1.7.6 thru 1.7.8 are included but 1.7.0, 1.7.1 and 1.7.3 aren't. Either we're only counting the "proper" versions (in which case it's 2, 4, 5, 9 and 10) or we're counting all of them (in which case there's no break in numbering at all, 0 thru 10). Or is there some subtle reason I'm missing? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.68.142.54 (talk) at 04:00, 22 August 2014 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

We include all the versions Mojang produced. There were pre-releases for 1.7, 1.7.1, and 1.7.3, but no official release of those versions. They haven't made it clear why they skip certain versions, though it seems they often had major bugs in the corresponding pre-release. -- Orthotopetalk 04:54, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
That's my point. 1.7.6 thru 1.7.8 had major bugs and were immediately replaced just like 1.7, 1.7.1 and 1.7.3. Hell with one of them it was a same day replacement. The next "proper" after 1.7.5 was 1.7.9. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.68.142.54 (talk) at 0:45, 22 August 2014 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
That is likely because not enough bugs were fixed from the pre-release, and during the release more bugs were discovered because more people played it, causing it to need a fix immediately. Also, the way the numbers are done is mojangs decision, we just document it here. --KnightMiner (t|c) 01:08, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

Table usage

Is there any need or any way to present the information without the tables? There would need to be a clean way to represent the version and date without looking messy or harder to read. GoandgooTalk
