Release time[]
At the bottom of c0.30_01c.json
it says:
"minimumLauncherVersion": 7, "releaseTime": "2009-12-21T22:00:00+00:00", "time": "2016-02-02T15:37:47+00:00", "type": "old_alpha"
"releaseTime: 2009-12-21"... so its saying it was released on December 21. So where does the October 30/November 10 come from? – Nixinova

Also the jar file for 0.30 survival says December 21. What is correct? – Nixinova

2009 to 2011[]
what is the difference between the two? does the 2009 version save and the other not? does the 2009 assume you paid and the other not? please give me answers--108.172.1.172 01:55, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
- The two are identical, they just remade the file for addition to the launcher. – Nixinova

Original Version JSON file[]
I'm wondering if you can track down the JSON file for the original 2009 version of 0.30 (aka 0.30-2) I'm currently stuffing my launcher with every version of Minecraft that has been found, and I've deliberately ignored versions without JSON files or broken JSON file links.
--2.26.185.163 06:55, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- JSON files are actually just something that the launcher uses and were not actually distributed with the original versions. The launcher isn't really made to play these older versions, so I recommend using BetaCraft launcher (betacraft.pl), which comes with all currently found MC versions from Omniarchive, and is made to play these earlier versions. bad saving[]
you cant save youre game. this also happens in creative mode whats up with that?????? i hope some one comes to this dead page and reads this and responds :(. --108.172.1.172 02:18, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
- Saving was not available in this version. There's no reason; it just wasn't just in Notch's agenda yet. – Nixinova

but there was a button on the pause menu that opens a window that is used for finding out where files will be saved when other programs use it that clearly sais SAVE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! --173.180.201.172 01:50, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
Download link no longer working[]
Appears the file may have been removed from MediaFire. Zorgot1130 (talk) 10:18, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
i have it though. --173.180.201.172 01:33, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
.json missing[]
The .json file for this version is missing. Do I just get the .json from the creative version?
Prerelease?[]
I think I have a prerelease. I got this from Minecraft: The Hidden Versions (i know, that one is subject to fakes) , but it has a META-INF from 2009-10-10. It's labeled as 0.30 in game, but the .jar and .json are labled as just 'survivaltest'. Chancemanroxtv (talk) 02:13, 31 March 2020 (UTC)Chancemanroxtv
- That's just the normal 0.30. Notch had the date on his PC set wrong. Tolerabledruid6 (talk) 17:06, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
Potental Existence of a '0.30_01s'[]
You know about 0.30_01c, which literally means 0.30_01 Creative. After figuring this out, i'm wondering if 0.30 Survival, just like 0.30 Creative, got renewed. I think that 0.30_01s (yes that could be the name) probably existed. There's no evidence for this version just yet, it's only a hypothesis. You can discuss it below. 2.27.162.24 20:02, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
- Nope: 0.30_01c is 0.30 renew 2 (the one that's in the launcher), 0.30_01a is renew 1 (we don't have this one but we do know it's MD5 (?) hash, VirusTotal seems to have a file that matches up with the hash and is actually a jar file so it's not a hash collision, but no one really wants to pay for VirusTotal premium just for this one file). We're not quite sure what 0.30_01b is, but it's not a renew of Survival. Either way, this whole "0.30_01x" naming scheme is outdated and just a result of Mojang either not being sure what to call it in the launcher or just getting confused. There is a version people refer to as "0.30_01" but it's a dev version (namely the one with models from Quake if memory serves me correctly). Tolerabledruid6 (talk) 08:45, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
- Just wondering if you could create pages for these versions. Redention7 (talk) 15:34, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
Merge reason[]
Merge reasoning added by Tolerabledruid6:
Having seperate pages for the creative and survival variants is like having seperate pages for different reuploads or renews, it just doesn't make sense. The creative and survival variants are completely identical in code, apart from one single line in the main class, that tells the game to launch in a certain gamemode. You can even change this line yourself to turn your 0.30 Creative copy into a 0.30 Survival copy and vice versa. Seperate pages means that there is basically two pages that say the exact same same thing apart from maybe gamemode related features, it means duplicate information and it's just unnecessary. We also don't do this for 0.28 or 0.29 either, they have single pages that describe features in both gamemodes (granted, the survival variant of those versions were not released: you have to manually change the main class line to play survival in those versions).

How do I use multiplayer?[]
the server says it's for this version but how are you supposed to use multiplayer? Biomseed (talk) 02:22, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Why would you need multiplayer?
- Don't you just download the file?
I'm just curious. Also what file are you talking about? Biomseed (talk) 18:05, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
