Naturally generated melon blocks
Melons, yum.
Groups of melons appear to be generated with the world, like with pumpkins. I think this is a new feature of the snapshot. Seed is 1 and co-ords are shown on screenshot. I have no melon blocks in my inventory. --Minecreeper (Talk) 17:54, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
This is part of 1.7.2's Update that Changed the World (it did): I'm using it (for stability, despite all the cool snapshot /pre-release stuff). I found 2 batches of Melons, and I see that like you, I found them only in Jungle Biomes, where they initially-spawn, as of that UpDate.
I guess we don't only get these from Villager, Trading, now if on the surface, of the Overworld (formerly these were only in AbMS Chests, possibly Strongholds, I don't know; where also Pumpkin Seeds, too are to be found with the Melon Seeds). Yilante 50.1.134.10 19:33, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
You now cannot get them from villager trading, though you can get melons from Abandon Mine shafts. --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 14:23, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
Villagers And ("whose") Crops, now?
I was wondering if harvesting /cutting Crops by Villagers means they're no-longer available to Players. If they just "disappear," or even if the Villagers themselves start-offering such "harvested" Crops in Trading, instead of just-Trading -for, them.
I sort of doubt they are being given-freely to Players, for no effort. Though that would certainly be yet-another great reason to keep Villagers around and take care of them. Yilante 50.1.134.10 19:31, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
Ahh.. the snapshot /pre-release has been up-dated... Not the Update 1.8, I'm saying, but Changed: I checked it out. Just when it looked like the one Farmer-type Villager was a "Pillager," of Crops, just for itself, according to the Page notes (the up-date'd, part), on this-Still 14w04a, it shares the wealth, like a good worker (with its others)!
Of course, now I wonder if they eat Bread? Ah well, they "store" it, so perhaps it goes SomeWhere, even if not into Trade offers (Yet?)!! Yilante 50.1.134.10 07:43, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
Doors are now added to the nearest village
Not sure I understand this - can someone explain please?
Cursor new feature in this snapshot?
When in F3, the cursor shows red/green - I think it is indicating direction, and maybe range...
Also, the direction you're travelling in is in bold?
Pistons pull more than one slime block if it's in a line?
Apparently it also pulls one block directly at the end of the line 175.143.253.39 12:13, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
- That was a troll video. --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 14:21, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
Villagers allegedly collect crops, sow seeds, and bake bread?
That's a big "citation needed" here... I havent't seen anything the like, all the villagers do is "reap", ie. hit fully grown wheat, then leave it to rot. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.217.62.149 (talk) 23:57, 24 January 2014 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- They need to detect a village, some youtube videos review/make stuff with snapshot features have shown this feature. Also note this is a snapshot, which comes with a few bugs. Also note villagers will sometimes eat the food they harvest to breed. --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 03:09, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
- Villagers that existed before 14w04a or those that are summoned in without a "CanPickUpLoot" tag of 1 will not be able to pick up the items. Villagers before 14w04a have this tag set to 0, and is not updated when switching over. If the 'mobGriefing' gamerule is off, the villagers will not harvest at all.
- Villagers now have an Inventory tag, limited to 8 slots. Items in their inventory that can stack together will be stacked. Currently they will continue to pick up items even if their inventory is full.
- When the villager replants, it will use seeds from within its inventory. So if the 'doTileDrops' gamerule is set to false, the villager will merely break all the wheat and won't be able to replant due to lack of seeds in its inventory. They will also create bread from available wheat in their inventory.
- So yes, it's all true under the right circumstances. Very cool update to the AI, can't wait to see more!
