Community Backlash[]
It feels quite odd that this page lacks any mention whatsoever of the community backlash surrounding player chat reporting in this update. Not that we have to take a side, but not even acknowledging it feels rather wrong. This wiki is not a spokesperson for Mojang and should reflect important events surrounding the Minecraft community as well. There are ways to touch on the topic in a neutral manner and we should do it, because ignoring the topic entirely isn't a neutral stance. --HoneyMC (talk) 14:33, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
- TBH, this page isn't the best to do so. This is a changelog, not a community impressions page. However, we wanted to finally modernize theme update pages to not be copies of the changelog pages and to have this "Community reception" section and development in short etc. (basically, feeling like old-school theme updates before the new wiki generation came here + has more things it ever had). I created a small sample, but unfortunately in the last months, I see lot of issues with Fandom, which means I have to go back to wikis I administer (I don't administer here, check admin noticeboard page for people who do) and I have to talk about problems there, which is hard. And other editors here have it hard too, since wiki's golden age ended last year and we just cannot make as much decisions on pages like CP, because if nobody will answer, well... --TreeIsLife (talk) 19:47, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
- Seeing how overwhelming the backlash was, like almost inescapable at one point, it wouldn't hurt to put it here. But we should put a great emphasis on making it as unbiased as possible. James Haydon (talk) 07:37, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
