I created a 3 minute video which fully explains the mountains. Slicedlimes video didn't really explain the new biomes. Can we also add my video to the page until Slicelime creates a video about the new biomes? (Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiOAL8_hG5I)
- We already have that information on the Mountain page. We don't need to put it here. Plus, no offense, but you're not really an official source. Slicedlime is a developer. I also already linked Henrik Kniberg's video as a citation, as it explains the new approach to terrain and biome generation. Additionally, some of the information you give is inaccurate. Mountain Meadows don't generate Big Dripleaf, they are occasionally there because a Lush Cave is below them. Biome distribution particularly is still in an early stage and this is almost certainly going to change somehow. Therefore, it's too early to cite any too specific information like the rarity of the biomes or their exact Y-range. Ziad El-Moursy (talk) 20:10, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- I won't add it back, but for future snapshots, if I get my speed review video out before slicedlime, then I will be adding my video there until his releases, then I will be replacing the video to be his. Also, even though they don't generate in Meadows, I think I found one of those few glitched seeds, because I did check it. The big dripleafs are in a meadows biome. A lush caves biome is 5 blocks below the surface, but they did generate in the meadows biome. So it isn't "inaccurate". But, nevertheless, I won't add it back for this snapshot. --Skipperooo (talk) 20:22, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- No, see MCW:Wiki rules/Video policy. Speedy reviews are sloppy, we don't need unnessicary videos, have patience. Slicedlime releases his video within hours. Humiebeetalk contribs 20:24, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- At most, directly link the video as a reference instead of embedding it as a source for trivial information (NOT the mountains). Humiebeetalk contribs 20:28, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- You don't have the right to add your video at will. That's against style guide. The wiki only adds videos explaining features when they have been fully released and when the videos are sufficiently objective and reliable. All videos about versions and snapshots need to be from official sources like Slicedlime. And I'm on my stance that your video has inaccuracies. Adding videos that you made on the wiki is basically an impolite way of self promotion and will be deemed as vandalism. Period. Ziad El-Moursy (talk) 20:30, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- (Edit Conflict) I can agree to that Humiebee. I will not embed my videos, but only link them if I discover trivial information. --Skipperooo (talk) 20:32, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- Did the dripleafs just grow into the meadows? Humiebeetalk contribs 20:31, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- Nope, the clay blocks they spawned on are in a meadows biome. --Skipperooo (talk) 20:32, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- I've watched Henrik Kniberg's video and seen his tweets, and I'm certain this is a bug due to the new approach to biome placement. Terrain is now generated independently first, then biomes are generated throughout it afterwards and are forced to adapt to the terrain in order to create the variation and smoothness you are seeing in the snapshot. However, biome placement is still in an early stage, and they're relying on feedback to decide the direction they should approach it. That's why there are miniature biomes, cave biome features above ground, and terracotta on the side of steep hills and rocks. Ziad El-Moursy (talk) 20:38, 14 July 2021 (UTC)

- No. Period. Slicedlime also won't create a video of the mountains until 1.18 releases. Humiebeetalk contribs 20:17, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
