Avoiding redundancy in this page

An anonymous contributor to this wiki recently added information to this page (showing how you could have a lower Efficiency level but the Haste effect, and still mine instantly, etc.) This is accurate, but makes the page somewhat repeating, as shown below:

Netherite Shovel Efficiency III
Diamond Shovel Efficiency III
Haste I
Diamond Shovel Efficiency IV

Moreover, keeping the same logic, this could be expanded even further by talking also about iron pickaxes, gold pickaxes... with various Efficiency and Haste levels, making the page almost unreadable.

To avoid this redundancy, I think we should only show the simplest way to break blocks in a survival context. Here is the list I propose, from simplest to hardest:

  • unenchanted wooden -> stone -> iron -> diamond tools
  • enchanted diamond tools (without Haste)
  • enchanted netherite tools (without Haste)
  • enchanted netherite tools (with Haste)
  • enchanted gold tools (with Haste)

Haste is pushed at the end because it's more end-game than everything else, and also because it only has practical uses in player bases, and obviously not in the wild. Gold tools are at the very end because they aren't a viable option in survival, and are only there for the completeness of the page.

If you have objections, please answer to this post. Sagessylu (discuss | edits) 10:12, 11 July 2020 (UTC)
