Category/Template

the risen I did't make this page was that I didn't knew if to put this as an item, block or mob, and i don't think it should appear in any of said categories/templates until we know for sure.--Yurisho 07:25, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

It will be a block, because class is called "HugeMushroomTile.java" and Tile.java in original source code (Block.java in MCP) is a representation of block type. DiEvAl 07:54, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

They are not blocks, mobs, or items, but a new feature in the terrain generator. Each kind of huge mushroom seems to be made out of two different type of blocks: The stalk (which seems to be shared by both kinds of mushrooms), and the head, which is different for each type. They're a lot like trees, which use two different block types and are naturally generated. There could be a link to this page from the regular mushroom page, but it does not seem to be related to the mushrooms currently in-game except for the coloration. the "HugeMushroomTile.java" could be one of the types of blocks that huge mushrooms use. uniting with the mushrooms page?

I think this should be united with the mushrooms page.--Yurisho 08:23, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

It would actually better fit in the environment (natural structures) category rather than in the item category with the mushrooms. We could make put a link to this page in the trivia saying: Both mushrooms have a larger variation seen here. --Grumpychris 00:50, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

Why are the giant mushrooms even in the block section? There obviously a new type of tree.--Discount Flunky 20:48, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Yea, I think so too, but as long as we don't have too much info it is O.K to leave it here because it may consist of a block called huge mushroom as well.--Yurisho 05:40, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
Yes we should because we can list all 4 types under mushrooms and that would be easier. --Reshiramdude16 15:39, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
Uniting huge mushrooms with mushrooms would be like uniting Trees with Saplings. In any case, any such move should be done after release, when we have more information. Verhalthur (talk)(contribs) 16:11, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Notch Screenshot

this looks like it could be the giant mushroom? --Brokenbarn 15:34, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

Biome Info

In the Screenshot of the Enderman, and especially the enhanced ones, it seems very clear that on the right there is a huge mushroom (Or another plant that looks like, though probably not)on the right, and that there is Sand or Clay in abundance like in a desert where the Enderman and Mushroom are. Should this be added, or at least in Trivia something?

Any uses?

Are there any uses for the stalk or the textured parts planned yet?--User:Xots

None that have been released. I would recommend closely watching Notch's Twitter, blog, Jeb's Twitter, and the Reddit page for further updates. Verhalthur (talk)(contribs) 16:45, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

New Potential Sub-Biome for the Nether?

Since brown and red mushrooms exist within the Nether, is there any possibility that a new sub-biome might exist in the Nether to permit the natural generation of Huge Mushrooms there?

If you think about it, it makes sense... --Kirk.cieszkiewicz 19:18, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

We have yet to hear anything about the mushroom biome from any devleopers. However, as Notch has stated that 1.9 may be the Nether update, not 1.8, I do not think it likely that these will affect the Nether in any way. Verhalthur (talk)(contribs) 19:26, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Block Images

With all the textures uploaded, could someone please create 3D Block Images for the page?

If the pores are just a texture on the brown cap and the stalk, they don't count as their own block, right? I removed the pores from the main page as they are not their own block. - Shadowx4ffc 03:11, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
We'll need somebody who's talented with 3D block rendering, like User:Ultradude25, to do this. CosmoConsole my page! my talk! my contributions! 13:09, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
