It should be mentioned that Glass has some kind of effect(s) on mob AI. Many mob drowners that people make exploit this and wouldn't work otherwise. It seems that when a mob is submerged underwater and has a glass wall next to it, it will not constantly try to move up in the water and reach the surface like mob normally always do: instead, it just sits there... until it dies. This looks like a bug, which means it will be removed at some point (causing people to redesign their mob drowners or switch into other mob-killer mechanisms). ---Esfect

It doesn't gather faster, but you should have mentioned it break pretty fast, even by hand. --FuzzyWuff 23:34, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

Sword help break glass faster, but we don't have a sword thumbnail. PurpleKiwi 23:52, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Breaking Glass

"When broken, glass is lost forever and you do not receive a block of glass or sand to rebuild with." It does so in Survival, however, though I know it is not intended to be found in this mode legitimately. SteveZombie 21:00, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Coal/Glass ratio

Just did some burning... exactly 8 pieces of coal were used to make 64 glass.

Yes, because coal burns for 80 seconds and each smelt of any material is 10 seconds...thus, and stack of 8 coal/charcoal will smelt any stack of 64 smeltable objects. LB 00:44, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Suffocation

Glass shares some properties of an air block, if a player is forced into a glass block by either a minecart or boat they will pass through the block and not suffocate.

OpGlass

Is it a mod? Please answer this, I am very confused. Here's a quote mentioning OpGlass:
@FalzarGregar; Ah, good point. The glass will be made of OpGlass, a special block that only Operators and up can destroy. Also, this would all be made of Adminium, and would be zoned. All in all, it would be effectively secured.

Falling Through the Glass

When i was playing on single, i got many creepers to follow me (about 8), and then i built a glass 1x1 tower 4 blocks into the air. Then i made a platform of 2x2. I went to log out for a second and everything was fine. Then, when i logged in, i fell through the glass. Does anyone know if falling through the glass was a bug? oh and then i died from multiple hissing booms. --AParkedCar 8:49, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Water Currents

I was starting a new map (Beta 1.3, just came out), only a few game days in, and I decided my project of the day would be to build an underwater room with a glass ceiling. So I hollowed out a space underwater, sufficiently deep, and proceeded to place the glass when I noticed something odd. I was being dragged down. I backed up, and lo and behold, the game was treating my glass ceiling as if it were a downward water current (it even had water flowing down inside of the block, or so it seemed). I'm guessing this is a bug. Can anyone else confirm this happening, and would this belong on the Glass page or the Water page? --MadFencer 00:43, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
